BikiniBound's Diary

Your doing aawesome!I gained like over 70 lbs with my oldest but I think it was cuz i was so young and my body needed it...

I was gonna come in here a cpl days ago and ask ya about when you last heard from Claud:)

So glad the condo is getting there, I wish you luck to move in for the weekend!

Hi Kimberly

I'm pleased to hear that the condo is nearly ready to move into. You have waited a long time for this. Sorry that it didnt quite happen for Thanksgiving weekend - I know that it is an important celebration for you. It is good to hear that you enjoyed what you did get up to.

It is great to hear that the furnishing is all coming together and the last bits of initial renovation is finally getting done. You couldnt really ever move in without floors or a working bathroom.

Sorry about your great uncle passing away. Funerals are always sad - and I know how close you are to your grandmother - and would feel sorry for her greater loss than your own.

It sounds like the bit of snow that you have had is just a warning of what is to come for you. I remember what drifts of snow you had to contend with last winter. It seems that it is already starting over again for you. I couldnt cope with that. I complain about our weather and we hardly ever see more than a dusting of white - and certainly none of that yet here.

Well done for keeping up the exercise. I think that you are doing great with the weight control - considering the time into your pregnancy.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Absolutley, you are REALLY conscientious about keeping your weight down. I know you had set a goal of only gaining, what? 25 lbs? And so far you're still under, but I remember you being dismayed about getting closer to that 25 lbs earlier than you thought. No matter, you are a STAR! All this moving preparation and career brainstorming is pretty damn stressful, and yet you still are careful about exercise and eating :hurray: Excellent choices!!!

I agree with Valerie. Most people here would have been getting stressed and eating when facing the house turmoil and delays - without the pregnancy business - and gaining more weight than you have in the pregnancy. Recognise how well you have done to not go down that path.

Claudia--I agree girls are easier in the beginning. But a melodramatic teenage daughter would drive us both over the edge...lol. If I have a girl, I will have to teach her that if she feels the need for drama, to join her school's drama program..lmao.

Oh, I think you gaining 100lbs is an exaggeration, isn't it? I can't imagine tiny you sporting all that extra weight. If I remember right, it was more like 60-70lbs wasn't it?

Cerella--Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't think anyone's body needs to gain 70+lbs during a pregnancy..lol. Even super thin supermodels are encouraged to keep the gains to around 45lbs. I just think lots of women put on extra weight b/c they are always HUNGRY!! I know I am. :D

Apparently Claudia's a mindreader, sensing we were thinking about her. :)

Val--If I gain 25lbs I'll be pissed..lol. My OB said to keep it between 10-15lbs, but I will be okay with gaining 20--and not a damn lb more!! :cuss: Today's weight was down 2lbs from yesterday (I'm pretty sure that was due to me not drinking enough water the previous day), so that makes my gain so far 13lbs.

Margaret--Glad to see you here again. :) Thanks for the kind words. I think I sometimes set tough goals for myself, but I need to be strict or I will gain way too much weight. And at my age and already being overweight, gaining too much puts my health and my baby's in jeopardy--and I'm just not willing to do that. I want this pregnancy/delivery to go as smoothly as possible, and in order to keep it going as smoothly as it has, I know I need to keep eating right and exercising.

Winter is here. We got about 5 inches of snow between Sun pm and Mon. It is still on the ground, and temps cooled off last night. The high today is only 25F/-4C and tonight's low is 17F/-8C. :ack2:

Had our first childbirth class last night. It was okay--we met two nice couples. Our instructor says, "mkay?" a lot--reminds me of the hippie teacher on Beavis and Butthead...:smilielol5: Even though she's female..lol

I wasn't sure if she'd show the graphic childbirth film the first class, but she did--much to H's enjoyment...NOT!! lol

She mainly talked about relaxation techniques, the stages of labor etc last night. Next week will be taking care of baby.

Oh cool!! Hey--that extra "energy" is being used for pregnancy--which I believe, is the POINT of extra baggage on women! I get it! :jump:

LOL--totally--put your daughter (if your child IS one) in drama classes BEFORE puberty so she has an outlet. LOL! I wasn't a drama queen, I just wanted total FREEDOM to PARTY! And mom had to ground me all the time :( LOL!

Thank goodness at 26, I have all the freedom to party in the world!

Nope I wasn't always hungry and it isnt uncommon you hear about ALOT of ppl gaining massive weight through pregnancy...I know Tammy is one of them, I think she said with most of her pregnancies she ballooned up to 70 plus...

I was 15 lived at home and had my mother monitoring everythign I ate and all I did, lol...She didn't even allow me caffine...

Everyone bodies are different and I was thin when I was a teen and got preggo with my oldest.

The only reason, I gained so little with my youngest was b/c I was so freakin sick all the tiem, I smelled food and it made me sick, lol...I gained 10 lbs with her...but I was sick none stop, from before I found out I was preggo right to the delivery table...

I didn't notice any talk about the condo ? Did you get the rest of the stuff completed/delivered so you can move in ?

And they don't wanna show you vids the first class cuz they dont wanna scare you away, lol.Ive had two babies but my goodness I cant watch or heara wmn in labour or watch childbirth, ICK!

Yes you're right Star :). It was "only" 70 lbs gain now that I think of it. My stomach was absolutely humongous and a lot of it was fat. I would try so hard to not gain all that weight if I knew better, but I was sick for the first 3 months and carbs were the only thing that settled my stomach. Then I started getting aches all over and had to stop my walking. My back hurt and I was very slow getting around, especially during my last few months. That last 2 months is HARD. You'll be there soon enough EEEK. At the end you just cannot WAIT to get that baby out and into the world. They get damn heavy to carry around. Phewwww. But its all so exciting too!

We can all know what is good and healthy for us to do - but there is the biggest chasm in the world between that and doing it.... You are doing brilliantly to stay so much in control.

Hey BB. Aren't you glad you don't have to watch the Wolverines play this weekend?!? I hope Rich Rod can have an unbeleivable recruiting year... maybe find some "upper classmen" from other schools and try and lure them away!! Mac teams are flooded with very respectable talent... he would be smart to try and tap into it!!! We shall see. Glad things are workin' out for you on the "home issue", as well as the whole prego thing!! :D :D have a nice weekend!! It will be for me... Lions are blacked out!!! Did you know there have only been 6 blackouts this year and the lions have been the "other" team in 5 of them!!! TOO FUNNY!!

Blackouts? Pardon my ignorance, but what is this in football terms?

Yeah, I hope Rich Rod gets some good recruits this year. Well, he did it at WV, so why not here? Mich has way more tradition, etc than WV does, so I think he can do it.

Yup, 0-13. :biggrinjester: I didn't see any of the game as I was at a family xmas party. I just know they're gonna blow it, though. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if they managed to win one of their last games--just to ruin a good thing. :biggrinjester:

Claudia--One thing I think I have going for me is that I'm tall and large framed--so it's easier on me to carry the extra "baggage." :) Walking is supposed to help with back pain--strengthens the back muscles. I'm just gonna keep on exercising and watching the scale and hope all goes well.

Cerella--Oh, she showed the birthing vids the first class..lol. LIke I said, it doesn't bother me--I've seen it before and in person. I actually prefer to see the actual birth rather than the labor..lol.

Val--I told H that with all the crap going on in the world these days, we're gonna become Amish in about 5 yrs to shield our kids from all the bad things out there. :biggrinjester: It'll have to be new order Amish, though--'cause BB is not giving up indoor plumbing!! :biggrinjester:

Margaret--The consequences or risks of not doing what I should scare me into doing it. :)

Well, I'm very worried about Henry. :( We haven't seen him since 10am Sun morning. He was inside for 12hrs prior to that (found out he's litter box trained--yay!), but wanted outside so we let him. It's not like him to disappear for over 24hrs, so I went out looking for him earlier today--no luck. I miss him, and have been crying about it b/c I'm scared some wild animal got a hold of him.

We are subject to "blackouts" if a game isn't sold out...instead, we will see a game from a different geographic region... I'm starting not to mind!!! :D

I would almost bet the farm that the Lions will stay perfectly winless!!! :D

Rich Rod should definately be able to work some magic at U of M... what's sad, is that all those players are Loyd's recruits!! Do you think he was slackin' cause he knew he was at the end of his run... I DO!!

We always get the Lions here--no matter what..lol

Well, Carr was expecting Ryan Mallett to continue on as qb, and I think he would've done a pretty decent job even with a spread offense had he stayed. Remember when Carr was recruiting, he was anticipating recruiting for a traditional style offense, so I cut him some slack.

When I was getting my dinner tonight I heard meowing outside the door. I opened it up and there was Henry! :hurray: You cannot imagine how happy I am. Just minutes before his return I was crying, and then I was crying after his return, but happy tears this time. Yes, I'm a big softy. Henry's sitting here by me as I type this. :)

Had a fun afternoon. Someone wanted to see my listing so I drove out there to show it. The property is vacant, and the owner said she'd have someone plow it. Well, it wasn't plowed. There was about 10 inches of snow in the driveway, and yes, my car got stuck in it. :willy_nilly: The buyer was kind enough to help me shovel and push me out. Then my car started acting funny--making a grinding noise. I thought maybe I had a bunch of snow stuck in the wheel wells and stopped to check. Only the rear passenger side had any, so I cleaned it out. Still making the noise so I took it to the repair shop (I know the owners). They said there was a lot of snow underneath it, and cleaned it out and changed the oil (it was past due), and told me it wasn't making any weird noise. So I tested it out and now it's driving fine. So I got out of that cheap--$13 for the oil change. Needless to say, the homeowner has been called and advised to have the driveway plowed--I even gave her the number of a reputable snow plower as she doesn't live in the area. :D

Condo update: the flooring is finished everywhere but a small area in the bedroom and a 3X4ft area outside the bedroom. The appliances will be delivered tomorrow, so I see no reason why we can't move in this weekend. :svengo:

Hey Kimberly,

Happy Move in day this weekend!!!:party::party:

That is awesome. Finally, I bet it feels like ;)

Good news on Henry too. Glad to hear he is safe and back with his mama:santa:

-Sam

How exciting about the condo! When are we seeing pictures?! What kind of floor is it and did you all put it in yourself or were you able to get a contractor??

Do you and H call the baby a name yet? While I was pregnant we called my baby "minney" and we called my sister's last son "bumby" and "bumpers" (and we still call him that far more than his name when we discuss him).

You must be seriously psyched to be moving in soon.

I've had the same thing happen on cars before, although, thank god we don't have that kind of snow yet... better you then me...
