BikiniBound's Diary

Aw, I love the kitty!

I'm with you on fall, I was born in February and could care less about that time of year!

It's all about October.

Hey Kimberly :)

The cat is adorable. Makes me want a cat :)

Sorry to hear about your mom and the difficulties she is facing. I think your doing the absolute right thing with her. Sometimes tough love and bottom lines are the only thing that get people to snap out of their ways. I hope she makes some progress. You being there to kill all the excuses she is giving is very good. She IS very lucky to have you, although she might not exactly realize it or be thankful yet... Hang in there.

Take Care,
Sam

Cripes, your mom is still battling, huh?

I really hope she took your words to heart. Once you get stuck in a downward spiral, it usually takes some sort of outside pressure/intervention to pull you out. Yea, she needs to be accountable for her actions and health. At the same time, I'm sure you're words make a difference, as long as she keeps her ears open!

I wish her the best.

Henry looks cool. :)

If your mother is not doing as you tell her regarding drinking her water - and your grandmother says that she has never grown up - is it worth getting grannie to come down heavy and tell her to get on and drink the water?

It's a long shot - but she might take the instruction better from her - and I am sure that grannie would be happy to oblige.

Good luck in getting her to see the light.

Considering that Granny is her mother-in-law, that would not go down well at all..lmao. No, that would be very bad. :D

Cerella--Yup, he's skinny, but he's actually gained a bit from when he first started hanging around.

9o90ji <--This was typed by the Dommer as he walked across the keyboard...lol. Apparently he's jealous by all the attention Henry's getting. :D

Amber--I agree--October's the best month. :)

Henry was so cute yesterday. I saw him pouncing on butterflies (which flew away) out in the back yard. :beating:

Sam--I know my mom is grateful to have me clean up her messes and do a lot of stuff for her, but she doesn't like my hard ass approach. However, I know from experience that babying her will not get the desired results.

Steve--Yes, this shit is still going on. I will say that she is getting rid of some of the water, so that is great. But I think it's going to take awhile to get rid of 40lbs of it.

Henry is a cool cat. He caught a mouse outside yesterday..lol.

It never does, does it?!?! :banghead: Too bad you were the "adult" sort of. I know how it is on a certain level, but one thing I;m very thankful for is my mom's ability to change herself. For the better! She's very cool like that. Helps that she's a Pisces I bet. Well, have an excellent weekend as YES I recommend prenatal yoga--if ya practiced it diligently I bet it would make for an easier labor :)

WOW Henry looks a little like MY cat! My cat is WAY fluffier but his eyes have the same look to them--lazy and ancient, not all wide-eyed-dumb-cat look.

Today is the first day of my 2nd trimester, and I am pleased that my weight today (217.5) is exactly what it was the day after I found out I was pregnant, and the same as it was the day we left for London (which is the last time I weighed myself before conceiving). This means I didn't gain anything over the first tri. Goal accomplished.

Now I have to wrap my head around the idea of gaining weight..lmao. :svengo:

All the cats look cute.

Well done for accomplishing your weight goal. That is a huge achievement. Stay focused and eat healthily and your baby will thrive while you maintain a healthy body. We all know when we are eating to deserve a weight gain ("pigging out") or not.

Dont get phased when you see the scales go up. It is normal to gain weight (at a healthy rate) while pregnant. Tell yourself that it is the baby gaining weight - not you - if it makes you feel better about seeing the scale go upwards.

WTG on keeping up with exercise! What are you painting?

Cute cat too. :)

What aren't I painting? That would be easier to list..lol. Kitchen cabinets, living/dining room, kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, bedroom, hallway and all the doors and trim. :ack2: I wish I could hire a painter to do it for me, but it would cost tons of $$ and my labor is free...lol.

Brandy--Thanks, dear. :)

Margaret--I know that if I keep my weight gain to 15lbs over the pregnancy, it'll be pretty much all baby, amniotic fluid, enlarged uterus, etc--not fat. But it's still kind of annoying to think it'll go up..lol. Don't worry, I'll get over it. :D

Back to the condo--it is a total mess right now. The carpet is all torn up, the countertops in the kitchen are gone, there's stuff everywhere. I did mop the bathroom floor and clean the bathroom sink yesterday to make myself feel better..lol. But, I'm going to get the shop vac over in the next couple of days and get it cleaned up a bit, and do my best to get nearly all the painting done this week. I'm hoping to have new flooring in by this time next week. That will be a huge improvment. Then I'll get new appliances and wait for the new countertops to be installed. Then we can buy furniture and move in.

Congratulation on the first trimester. The fact that you have set a healthy eating plan in place is a major step in the right direction. Not enough women do it right. Someone I know decided that pregnant women were allowed to get fat as well as pregnant. To her horror, I think she found out that babies do not grow in your hips and ass. Needless to say, she is as wide as a barn door 6 months postpartum. Duhhh!

Henry is soooo cute. Hopefully all your children will turn out as cute...just a little less furry.

If you keep your gain to 15 pounds or thereabouts you will do so well that you will hopefully be immensely proud of your accomplishment - proud of the controlled rise under the circumstances and not in any way phased by the rise at the scales. I think that anyone on the forum would be. It would be so impressive!

Congrats on getting thru your 1st trimester. Time flies by so fast, it seems like just the other day you were announcing to us your pregnancy news :)

Glad to hear the condo seems like it's coming along nicely.

Take Care,
Sam

Yeah, I really don't want to gain tons of weight b/c it really increases the chances of having complications such as gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia (which can be very dangerous), increased odds of a c-section, large baby, etc. I'm already overweight, so gaining more than 20lbs would just send those odds skyrocketing.

Technically I am eating for two. But the baby is so small, it doesn't need 2,000 extra calories a day..lol. More like 300-500. So I keep that in mind and really eat at a maintenance level (or at least I have been). I try to eat healthy food most of the time, but I will admit that yesterday I ate a lot of Pringles and some french fries. :blush5: All that sodium showed up on the scale today, as I was 1.5lbs higher..lol. I know it is mostly water retention, though.

I will be happy if my babies turn out half as cute (and far less furry) than Henry and Dominick..lol.

Yes, if I can keep my gain to 15lbs or very close to it, I'll be very chuffed with myself. :D So, the goal is to have my low weight be 223.5 by the end of the 26th week.

Sam--It doesn't seem to be going as fast for me..lol. But I am enjoying my pregnancy. I waited a long time for this, so I don't want it to fly by. :)

Congrats for achieving your first trimester goal!!!!!! And getting through it, too! Also, big ups to you being conscientious about the possible complications with excessive weight gain--you're doing great!
