BikiniBound's Diary

Good Mornin' :)

Glad you enjoyed the walk.
I look forward to walks again to.
Texas stinks in the summer..The mornings and evenings are even to muggy/humid. Forget about the afternoon! :flame: lol

It should only be a week or 2 more of hot weather.

Have A Goal Reachin' Day! :hug2:

Val--Nope, they haven't caught the rapist yet. I doubt they will, as I don't think they have much to go on.

I'm proud of myself for getting to the gym and exercising this week. I really made a point of doint it. Plus I've been painting the condo. Got the bathroom all done. We are getting close to being done with the painting--about 2/3 finished. Next week will see some big changes, and I think we'll be moved in by the end of the month--even if the countertops aren't in yet. :)

Sweatpea--thanks for the congrats. :)

Brandy--Yes, it was nice to get that walk in. It's so pretty and quiet there it's hard to imagine such a nasty crime took place.

Lemon--Those trees sound cool. I love the crisp autumn air and smell of the falling leaves. I also love hot spiced apple cider and all the other goodies that come with the season.

Stacy--I would much rather put up with a Michigan winter than a Texas summer...lol. You have my sympathy. :D

Good Deal!

I'm proud of ya to!

I'm so excited for you guys with the condo and baby. :)

We hope to at least get into a rent house summer '09'!

Maybe we'll get lucky with all of these foreclosers and OWN a home!

No matter what, we will leave the hell-hole we're livin' in now!

I had to call the other day to get them to fix some stuff and they were so rude/slow bc of all that AC drama we went through.
Neighbors told me the office has been talking about us as well.

I called and told her to "watch her mouth," or I'd sue for 'slander.'

She hung up on me. :sifone:

Greetings from Athens airport. I am on my way home and will catch up on what you have been up to over the past couple of weeks tomorrow as we do not get in until late tonight. I cannot hog this airport computer for too long as I will cause a riot.

Just glanced at your last couple of posts. You have done well to keep your weight hovering around 220 and get back to formal exercise.

You will be pleased to have the painting well under way and be looking forward to getting moved in.

Today begins the final week of my first trimester. :)

Stacy--Just keep in mind you'll attract more flies with honey than vinigar...lol. I hope you can get a house next year. Do you know how good your credit is? I'd look into that now, so that if you need to build it up you have the time to do it. You would be surprised at who gets qualified to buy a house. The only trouble you might have is if you need to come up with a downpayment. Even FHA is making it harder, and I don't know if areas you'd be interested in would qualify for a rural developement loan. The best thing to do is to talk to a lender now. It doesn't cost anything to do so, and it will give you a good idea of what your chances are. :)

Margaret--You're coming back!! :hurray: I know you're probably happy to stay on in Greece..lol, but I'm glad you're back. I've missed you.

I missed you too. Couldnt get on the forum too often in the village because the village bar that has "internet cafe" facilities is opening much shorter hours than normal (no standard opening times) - never opens during the daytime any more and had both computers busy with a queue whenever we popped by. I dived onto the internet a couple of times on a friend's computer - but the Greek keyboard can be a bit tricky for odd keys and it would have appeared rude to be on the computer for too long.

I have been catching up on what you have been up to since I disappeared.

It is great that you heard the baby's heartbeat. That must have been so good.

Henry sounds cute. When are you posting photos of him?

Sorry that your walking has been cut because of the rapist. It is scary when things like that happen too close for comfort. I hope that they catch him soon. It would be certainly be no tragedy if he got injured - but if you do carry a weapon - be sure to be of a mind and firm enough to keep a hold of it and use it. One problem with carrying weaponry is that things can be taken off the victim and used against them.

I think that walking with your own personal bodyguard is a good idea. Maybe you need to brush up on your martial arts skills (at least as far as advisable during pregancy).

Margaret--Yes, the whole walking thing is a real pisser. :cuss:

Henry is adorable, and I will try to get pics of him posted soon. I took him to the vet today and he said he's going to be a big cat once he gets to a normal weight. As skinny as he is, he already weighs 9.8lbs. The vet said he'll be about 15lbs once he gets to a normal weight.

A funny thing, normally, Henry's right outside the house, and if he's not in sight, all I do is say his name and he comes running. Well, early this morning I had to drive David to work b/c his car's getting the breaks done. Henry wasn't out there, so I called for him. No Henry. I kept calling, but he never came. We had to go, and all the way to D's work and back I was upset b/c I was worried something had happened to him overnight. I was even crying and praying for him on the way home. And much to my relief, he was there when i got back. :) Yes, I'm head over heels for this cat. Call me a sap, but I like to blame part of it on the pregnancy hormones. :smilielol5:

My mom is really stuggling. I did not realize it, but she actually gained about 40lbs of water during that week in the hospital, and it's not going away. She's very upset about it, and in tears all the time. She is on oxygen now, bc she has such a hard time breathing. Just going to the bathroom gets her all out of breath even with the oxygen. So today when her nurse came, I told her that this cannot go on, and that something has to improve, as my mother's miserable. The nurse said she needs to drink 2 liters of water dailly, to get up every hour and move around for 5 minutes, and to eat more protein. If she does these things, she should notice a difference within a few days. Mom of course started the excuse thing, but I told her she had two options: do what needs to be done, or be miserable and die. Obviously, she is choosing the first option. I gave her a big pep/reality/tough love talk. I think it worked. I know the nurse liked it. hahaha. I also took the nurse's suggestion of making mom a chart to track her daily progress. It's to keep her accountable and to let her see her accomplishments. I think she likes the idea. I hope this works, b/c I cannot stand seeing her so miserable. It's no life. :(

Sorry to hear that your mom is having such rough time of it.
Don't you just hate having to be the heavy on things. I know I do when it comes to my mom. But if I didn't she wouldn't be doing as well as she currently is.
I can't wait to see pics of Henry. He sounds like an adorable cat. I love cats but alas am highly allergic.

I am also sorry to hear that your mother is having such a difficult time. That is a lot of weight to gain through water retention - but I can easily see that it could happen. It is a good job that we know about such things as it would be so easy to think "gain if you are good or gain the same if you are naughty - might as well enjoy the time you have left and eat the stuff that you like".

I am sure that if she can get her water in she will see a swift reduction in her weight which should encourage her to keep on going with the process.

I find it easiest to get my water by filling a stack of half litre bottles and having them in the fridge. I know it makes me sound like a slob but I have a place where I let the bottles pile up when I finish them - so I can see them increasing as the day / evening goes on. I know when I get through my water in the fridge and see my pile get big that I have got through what I need to. Last thing at night I fill them all up again ready for the next day.

I'm pleased that there was no problem with Henry. Hormones have much to answer for.

Funny how cats can do that to you, huh? Awwww :beating:

Oooh, that sucks, I really hope she sticks to it and is dilligent! She's lucky to have you as a daughter :)

I'm glad henry is ok. Congratulations on finishing your 1st trimester! I hope your pep talk with your mom really set her straight. I hope she understands she needs to do those things.

I CAN'T wait to see Henry. I love the kitties (even if they are cyber ones!) I can't convince the fiance to get one. He is so allergic. Maybe a nice outdoor one on the acreage. He's starting to soften on that point because the mice are trying to get in the garage constantly. Its driving him nuts.

Your poor mom. 40lbs??? I whine over a couple pounds of water. Beyond the emotional, that has to physically feel awful. Maybe once that water goes, it will help her energy and breathing a bit. A sudden increase of 40lbs cannot be good in any way. :(

Hi all! Mom is doing a little bit better. I think if she'd drink the required water she'd do much better. She's supposed to drink 2 liters per day, but I know she's only been drinking a little over 1 liter. I've gotten on her case about it, and she started to make an excuse and I said, "No excuses. You need to drink it." That shut her up.

Dawn--I'm glad I'm not allergic to cats! That would suck..lol

Margaret--Got my postcard! I can see why you and Rod enjoy going there. It looks beautiful.

Mom has a water jug in the fridge that has measurements on the sides. I fill it to the 2 liter mark and have told her she needs to empty it daily. Hopefully she will be more diligent about this.

Val--I don't know if she's that lucky to have me. I have little to no patience with her. Sometimes I think my grandma was right when she said that my mom never grew up. Sometimes she acts like a little kid--so obstinate.

Brandy--We'll see if it did anything. She hasn't been using that chart I made her, either. I told her if she wants to get rid of this water weight, she has to do everything the nurse told her. She can't do it half-assed and expect good results. But after yesterday I am about to give up on her. It's so frustrating b/c what she has to do really isn't that hard--drink 2 liters of water and get up off her ass for 5 minutes every hour. :cuss:

Lemon--I still haven't taken a pic of Henry. I'll try to do it with my phone in a few and upload later on. :)

Claudia--SOOOOO good to hear from you. I was getting worried again. I hope things are going well for you. Please don't be such a stranger. At least email me..lol.

If your mother is not doing as you tell her regarding drinking her water - and your grandmother says that she has never grown up - is it worth getting grannie to come down heavy and tell her to get on and drink the water?

It's a long shot - but she might take the instruction better from her - and I am sure that grannie would be happy to oblige.

I can see how it would be infuriating seeing her not do as she is told. Drinking our water allocation is not easy for many of us - especially while we get into the habit - but I agree - it isnt that difficult. I sometimes think that eating some fruit helps to get the water down. I can normally manage best part of a litre of water while eating a pear.

Good luck in getting her to see the light.

Been keeping the weight steady, and getting in more exercise than I was a few weeks ago. Now that I'm starting the 2nd tri on Saturday, my goal is to gain an avg of a half pound per week. It's going to be hard to see that scale go up. I'm in such a maintenance mentality right now, and after working hard to lose weight, it's going to be a mental battle to feel okay about gaining weight. :ack2:

My co-worker had a boy via c-section yesterday. 9lbs 2oz. I have a feeling I'm going to have a girl even though I prefer a boy...lol
