It has been way too long. I am glad to see that babybound is doing so well. Congrats on the condo! How exciting. It looks like your heading into a new phase of life in more ways than one.

I am very jealous that your morning sickness hasn't been to bad. Looking at my mom and my sister's pregnancies, it looks like I will be in for a real ride. :puke: Its nice to know your weight is in a holding pattern. I can't say the same....and I am definitely not pregnant (thank god).

Well, now that I'm back home I should be able to check in on you regularly. I've missed ya!!!

Sam--I really enjoyed the convention. I was lukewarm about Obama/Biden as I really wanted Hillary as veep. But now I'm behind them 100%. I like Michelle Obama a lot now, too. She will make a great first lady. And on a sidenote, I think her skin is just gorgeous. :D

Sarah--Looks like you're preggers too! Congrats!! :party:

Lemon--I've missed you, too. Glad to have you back around. :)

There is no indication that genetics has anything to do with morning sickness. My mom was miserable while pregnant with me, and I feel pretty good. Also, some women have terrible m/s with one pregnancy, and little to none with another. So you may feel fine. :)
 
Well, maybe it's a good thing I haven't been out walking much. At 6:30 yesterday morning a woman was raped while out jogging just over a mile away from my house. I walk by there all the time. It's in the country, and such a beautiful, quiet area. This is just awful. I feel terrible for that woman. I wonder if it's one I've seen around during my walks. They haven't caught the rapist, and I don't even know if they have a dna sample. All I know is it was a white guy in his 20s or 30s, 5'10" and balding. I'm sure he'll keep doing it until he's caught, so I'm worried about going out walking there. It's where I always go b/c it's my fav route. :cuss:

:eek2: OH god. That sucks!!! :( I think I would just about have to get one of my guns and hunt a fool. Seriously, IF there was a rapist in my area I would definitely declare war/combat on him, using myself as (strapped) bait. but that's cause I'm so gangsta :rolleyes:

Yeah, my husband suggested I get a concealed weapons permit and carry a small handgun with me when I walk. If I do, and run into the bastard, I WILL aim right for his balls and blast them into oblivion. :patriot:

And yes, I AM a liberal Demorcrat. :)

LOL!!! I suppose I must be an anarchist or something, but maybe I'm undecided ;) Permits are good. Sometimes I wish I lived in Nevada, Arizona, or Kentucky--I heard ya can mow your lawn with your trusty gun in holster--funny shit! That would be pretty sweet if you single handedly blasted the balls off a rapist :D

Thanks. :beating: If any Hillary supporters vote for McCain now they're idiots. Palin is the exact opposite of what Hillary stands for. I read a great editorial on the subject by Gloria Steinem in the paper today.

Had my OB appt on Thursday and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat. :hurray: Everything looks good.

Worked on the condo a bit this week. Ordered the countertops tonight. I think we'll be moved in by the end of the month--only 1 month behind schedule. :rolleyes:

I think we have got ourselves a cat. A few days ago a stray started hanging around and of course we are feeding him. He's very sweet and friendly and has warmed up to us. So we'll be taking him with us when we move. He's awfully skinny, though, so we are fattening him up, poor thing. As we get closer to moving in, I'll take him to the vet and have him checked out, neutered and get his shots. Still need to come up with a name for him.
 
Hey BB! It's been awhile since I've been on here. I am about to change professions so I am trying to tie up loose ends at the office.

Glad to here the pregnancy is coming along nicely, we had a pregger scare ourselves last night. Not pregnant (thank God!), my estrogen levels are getting all jacked up again so the :reddevil: comes less frequently now.

I agree with Val, blow the balls of that fucking rapist. This is why I support the right to bear arms. We have to protect ourselves when the authorities can't.

Good luck with the condo, I hope you get to move in by the end of the month!!
 
Is there any way that Dev would walk with you to make it safer? I certainly do not like the idea of you out there alone with him on the loose. We love you too much!!

P.S. I was also a total Hillary fan, and the ONLY person I knew in my "real" life who was. Talk about going out on a limb each time I talked!
 
Rapist??? Omg! That's so scary. Be careful!!!!! Getting a weapon isn't a bad idea! I'm glad the baby is healthy! I'm really excited for you. I love kittens! I hope when you take the cat to the vet he is healthy!!

It must be so exciting hearing the heartbeat...makes it so much more real. I just found out that my friend (and future sister in law) is pregnant. She's due in April, she's my bridesmaid in July. Finding dresses should be interesting. LOL. I guess they'll be off the rack or made by a seamstress right before the wedding. I am very happy for her, really.

As for gun permits: My friend from Tennessee was telling me how her 21st birthday gift from her dad was a handgun and a concealed weapon permit, in case she was attacked. Maybe that wasn't such a bad idea...

Glad to hear the preg scare turned out okay..lol. :reddevil: coming less frequently sounds good to me. That is one of the perks of being pregnant---not having the bastard. :D

I also support the right to bear arms. I just think we should be selective in who we allow to have guns for the safety of the general public. For example, people who are mentally unstable should not be allowed to have a gun. :)

I haven't been walking since that happened. I will not go unprotected. And since I have no mace or weapon, I don't go. :( One thing, though--that woman who was raped always went jogging at the same time each morning. My walks are at all different times and there is no pattern whatsoever to them, so he would not be able to lie in wait for me like he did for her. He'd be waiting a loooong time..lol. I'm assuming this guy lives within a fairly close radius of where the rape occured, and that with the description that we have, one of his neighbors would think, "hey, that sounds like Jimbob who lives next door. I'll give the police a call and let them know." I mean, this is a pretty rural area where everyone knows their neighbors.

Yup, Hillary was great, but now I'm completely behind Obama. I cannot stomach the thought of Palin. She is waaay too right wing/religious fundamentalist for me. I find it a very scary thought that if McCain is elected and dies in office (not unlikely given his age), that she would become the president. Makes me think the dystopia Canadian writer Margaret Atwood portrayed in her novel "Then Handmaid's Tale" could possibly come true. It's a scary future with America in the hands of the evangelical fundamentalists. It turns into a totalitarian regime that makes the Chinese govt look nice. I think if she became prez, I'd pack up and move to Australia. There is no way I want to raise a child in a country that is ruled by ruthless, uncaring people who want to poke their noses into everyone's bedrooms and doctors appts while leaving the economy in the hands of greedy oil tycoons. No thanks. :cuss: I might just pack up and move to Australia if McCain wins. I really cannot take 4 more years of this shit. I'm beginning to think the majority of Americans have their heads stuck in their asses the way they keep voting these morons into office. Our country seems to be run by the ignorant and uneducated when it used to be run by the nation's most well-educated and best intellectuals.

Gave the cat ear mite drops and de-wormer last night. I think that's part of why he's so thin. He's not a kitten. I'd say he's 1-2 yrs old. I've named him Henry. :)

At least she wont' be pregnant at the wedding..lol No chance of her going into labor while you're saying your i do's. :D
