BikiniBound's Diary

OMG, I just welled up in tears of happiness for ya Kimberley Star! I said a little prayer for you before clicking into your diary and am so pleased to hear its come true LOL. This is so exciting!!!

Is the condo big enough for THREE??

Girls are much easier hehe.. Can't wait to find out the sex. I'm sure you'll be bursting to tell us that too haha!

Definitely too early for morning sickness yet. Give it a few weeks. I had a straight 3 months of naseau, night and day. Only thing that made me feel better was to eat EEEEEEEEEEEEEk. Glad you're trying to keep the weight down, it is SO HARD to get it off afterwards so that's a great idea. We'll keep you in line.

ARE YOU ON THE FOLIC ACID?? Most important in the first few weeks.

Oh, congratulations!! I know you were worried you waited too long, so this is a great relief. Its awesome you will be able to be in your own place when the baby comes.

I'm so happy for you. Perhaps Scott would be an appropriate middle name?

Woohoo!!!!
I just knew it!!!!
Congratulations Kimberly!!!
I say go ahead and tell people. Let everyone be just as happy as you are right now.
When I was preggers with T-man I used the ivillage calendar thingy that they had. It was totally cool 'cuz it would tell you things like how long the babe is at one week intervals and what has formed. Stuff like that.
Now we HAVE to get together so that we can shop for the baby.
Yeeha!
Way to go Dave!

Tyly--I know, I know...lol. But it could be worse--D could name him after an Aussie cricket player or something. :D

Cerella--I am kinda worried about miscarriage, as my mom reminded me last night that she had several of them before and after I was born.

Sam--thanks dear. :) I hope I make a good mother, but I dunno. D and I were both just saying how we can't stand crying babies..:smilielol5:

Tammy--Thanks! I'm sure you have this whole pregnancy thing down pat..lol and can give me lots of advice. :)

Claudia--Thanks, dear. I knew you'd be happy for me. Yes, I've been faithfully taking pre-natals and extra folic acid on top of that--even while we were in Britain. I am good in that respect. We don't want to know the sex of the baby until it is born, so you'll be waiting awhile for that one. ;)

Amber--Yes, definitely a relief to know fertility is not an issue for us. Scott will not be the middle name..lol. Maybe Sinclair after D's Scottish heritage. Nothing would please my MIL more..lol

Dawn--I've found one of those sites that gives a week by week low down on what is happening with the baby and also to the mother. It's very interesting. Yup, I'm game for another get together. :D

We told my parents last night. They are thrilled to be grandparents--as I knew they would. D also told his sister in Australia. Tried to call his mom, but she wasn't home. He'll tell her tonight. I think she'll be excited, but with her one never knows..lol

Here's something funny--last night I showed one of my friends our condo, and as we were about to leave, a neighbor came out and introduced himself, wondering if I was going to be his new neighbor. He's an 87 yr-old WWII vet, and he and his wife are English--from Yorkshire. Very spry, friendly chap. I know we'll get along well with them. Then I told him D was Australian, and he said the couple on the other side of him is an American wife/Aussie husband our age and their first baby is due any day now. How ironic is that? It was all I could do to refrain from telling him we just found out we're expecting as well. I dunno, we might end up staying in that condo longer than we expected..lol.

Congrats for the Condo and the news about baby! Hope the morning sickness leaves you be. My first wife had it bad both times and SWMBO hardly had any...go figure.

Thanks for the rep! Being away I got waaay behind (and waaay gut too ;-)

David

I am busting at the seams to tell everyone I meet. Luckily I haven't seen many people today..lmao. I'm such a doorknob. I know most people wait until the end of the 1st trimester before telling most people, but I do not think I can last that long. :angelsad2:
awWWWWWW......congratssssss...i"m SOOOOO happy FOR you!!!! :)

I cant get over your good news - I am just so very happy for you.

It certainly seems that there are a lot of signs that say that the condo was meant for you.

I know that you could well have fallen pregnant had you stayed at home - but they always say that a holiday can help. I suddenly realised that you were originally supposed to go home before the time that you went to Scotland. I think that it worked out particularly well that you extended your holiday.

Other people's crying babies are totally different than your own crying baby. This I can promise you. You two will love being parents.

This is soooo truuue!!!LOL...What you couldnt tolerate as a non parent you learn to tolerate as a parent! And as a parent as well you will notice that you cant tolerate other parents and how they deal with their children and so on. Its a whole new path for you but nothign is more rewarding!

Thanks! It's funny that with all the medical knowledge out there, no one really knows what causes morning sickness in some and not in others. Hopefully I'll be one who doesn't get it, b/c I really hate throwing up. I'd make a terrible bulemic. :D

Alta & MJB--Thanks! I'm totally geeked. :D

Margaret--It is a good thing we extended our trip...lol.

Cita and Cerella--I hope you're right about crying babies!! I'm already critical of how most people parent (or rather lack of parenting) their children..lol..so I hope I don't get worse..haha. Most people I know become less critical of other parents after they have their own children.

Told granny yesterday, and she's pretty happy. She was worried my parents would never become grandparents..lol. D told his mom last night and she is excited, so that is good. I wasn't home to hear her reaction, and D is terrible about giving the details, so I'm a bit annoyed with him about that.

Haven't seen the doc yet, as I just found out on Friday. My first appt is for next Tues. Due date is March 21st.

I lovvvvve YOUR NEW TICKER!!!!:iagree:...soooo CUTE!!! I hope YOU ARE FEELING WONDERFUL!!! I can just IMAGINE the WARM FEELING of EXPECTATION that you are FEELING now!!! THE excitement JUST SEEPS through YOUR PORES soooo MUCH I CAN reaaaaally FEEL IT!!! :iagree:

...I LOVE it......:hurray:

I love your new ticker too.

I am not surprised that your granny was delighted for you. You have always been particularly close to her and she will have known how much you were hoping for this.

Make sure that you mention your condition if you go to the gym. I would hate you to do something that could cause any problems. Your mother has told you that she had problems carrying children. It may be worth running the situation by Steve - and checking if there are things that he would suggest that you avoid (or indeed start doing to make things go better).

I am pretty sure that walking would be ok but I am not sure about some of the weight stuff or running.

As long as the weights aren't too heavy then working out will not be a problem. Of course there are certain moves that are a no no but as long as you pay attention to how you are feeling, you should be able to get a good workout in. Walking is perfect but some can run up until their belly gets too big, a friend of mine ran a 5k when she was five months pregnant and her doc ok'd it. Of course all women are different and you will have to run it by your doc. I had to be careful the first trimester because I was a high risk pregnancy and unfortunately I had morning sickness day and night the entire nine months so I didn't get much exercise except in the pool. There was one time when the puking wasn't so bad that I was able to kick my H's ass in a game of one on one basketball and I was six months pregnant (nice visual huh?). Lol! My doc really encouraged I keep working out the entire pregnancy with weights and cardio. He said it really helps the labor and delivery go better since your muscles are in pretty good shape rather than super weak from months w/o exercise.

BB, do you do yoga at all? I have a book with an instructional CD of pregnancy yoga that I never got around to using. If you think it would be beneficial let me know and I'll mail it to you.

Hey I have an idea, how hard would it be to have a long distance baby shower???
