Another good day--that's 4 in a row..lol.

Tomorrow is the big walk. I might jump on here in the morning or early afternoon, but I won't be on again until late Saturday or Sunday.

I hope I can do it..lol. 18hrs is a lot of walking. I stupidly scheduled an open house for the Sunday after. I completely forgot about the relay when I scheduled it. So, I hope I'm not hobbling about like a crippled old lady then...

Good luck on that walk. I'll be thinking of you. Imagine that I am joining you for the first 11 miles since that is what I am averaging this week.

Make sure that someone has a long reel of elastoplast, some thin cotton wool pads, some scissors and a pack of needles. That way - if you get a blister or cracked skin on your foot you can kind of deal with it and get back to walking in minimum pain. I know that you will not want the charity to lose out so nothing will stop you.

Spare socks might be useful too in case you wear a hole through them. We'll just have to hope that you dont wear a hole in your shoes - the chances of that happening in 18+ hours are not too high.

It might be worth creaming your feet in the morning as they can get dry with walking and more prone to crack.

Do your little ankle exercises.

Your awesome to be doing the Walk. What a great cause. I'll think of you tomorrow and I'm sure all your other buddies over here at WLF will all be cheering you on in their heads as well.

Dont forget to weigh in on Summer Solstice!

Thanks for the reminder! I would've forgotten otherwise!

Hey everyone! Thanks for the well wishes. It starts in 2.5hrs. I got a good night's sleep so that's good.

M--my plan to avoid blisters is to put duct tape on the bottom of my feet. That cuts back on the friction. I'm bringing a bottle of ibuprofin in case my muscles get sore--and maybe a tube of bengay...lmao.

Just worried about the weather a bit. It's supposed to rain overnight and get down into the 40sF--kinda cold. :ack2:

So, I'll just bring a rain poncho and some warm clothes--gloves and hooded sweatshirt included. :)

See you all Sunday--or Saturday if I'm not sleeping. :D

I'm pleased that you got a good night's sleep. We'll all be thinking about you.

I hope that the plans work out and that the feet stay fresh and fighting fit.

Oh, re the pedometer, when I went out for another 2 mile walk last night, it said 4,060 steps. So I'm going to use 2,030 steps per mile as my gauge.

That makes sense as that is pretty consistent with the previous set of results. I would do the same if I were you.
