Heya BB!
Glad to hear your Holiday was fun! Oh, and btw, I LOVE that episode of ELR-that is SO my hubby and me too!
Thank you for the Christmas Challenge, I was having fun and more success at the beginning til my Dad's passing, and sorry I wasnt able to more of a team player, but I think all understand my circumstances.
I'm hoping that 2008 will be a much happier and healthier year for everyone!
Hi Yarm! Thanks for stopping by. The funny thing about this trip is that we both took a lot of crap and could easily have filled one of our gigantic suitcases..lol.
Glad you enjoyed the CC, I hope you'll sign up for the NY's one I'm doing in a couple days.
I wish you a happy New Year as well--and hope that it gets easier for you getting on with life without your dad.
Early Risers: You all have my utmost sympathy! getting up early sucks ass. WTF am I thinking I want to run a B&B? Better make the B&B stand for bed and
brunch!!
My sleeping on this trip was horrible. The first night in the hotel my pillow was like a thin rock. I tossed and turned until 2am when I turned on the light and began pacing about the room cursing my pillow. My H laid there in bed half asleep trying to figure out what was going on. Then I called down to the front desk and 2 minutes later had a pillow that was much, much better. H was cracking up at my raging pillow fury.

Still, I only got 3hrs of sleep if I was lucky, so I was a coffee-filled zombie all day Thursday.
After my class, we drove to Frankenmuth (a Bavarian-style village) and walked around and had a drink in a pub. I got some 9yr aged cheddar at the Cheese Haus--very sharp and tasty.
We spent that night at my friend's house, and she keeps it so frickin' warm that I kept waking up from being hot--even though I had long since kicked the blanket off me. I got about 4-5hrs that night.
My friend made some fantastic Middle Eastern food for dinner Thursday night. H and I pigged out on it. Then we had baclava and apple strudel for dessert--along with hot cocoa w/peppermint schnapps. Yummy!
Friday afternoon was her youngest son's 2nd b-day party at Chucky Cheese, so we spent about 3hrs there. I am pretty good at skeeball.

Then we checked into our hotel and I spent 30min on the treadmill before we went out for Mexican with my friend and her family. Got a halfway decent night's sleep last night--about 7.5hrs finally! Still tired, though.
After we checked out of the hotel this am, we had lunch at an Indian restaurant--very good food. We then drove through a scary as hell ghetto (yes, Detroit has some scary areas). I was afraid to slow down for fear someone would try to carjack us...lmao. But suddenly, the ghetto ended and we were in the nicest neighborhood--Grosse Pointe. The houses there are absolutely gorgeous. H and I stopped at a coffee shop and then took a walk around to gawk at the huge old houses. Most of them were built between 1910-1940 and are just incredibly expensive.
H and I got along extremely well the whole time and really enjoyed ourselves. H actually wanted to stay another night so he could spend more time with my friend's two boys. He really had a nice time with them--even though they are full of vim and vigour. I'd had enough of them--even though they're much tamer than they used to be. I like my peace and quiet. haha
Amber--there was no bingo, so Granny was stuck with us Christmas day.
Thanks everyone for stopping by while I was gone. I love you all, and will get to your diaries on Sunday. Damn--it's 4am!! I've got to get to bed. I've been watching National Lampoon's European Vacation with Chevy Chase. It's been ages since I'd last seen it, and I had to stay up and watch it.
