BikiniBound's Diary

Hmm...maybe I should watch survivor...I love me a hot black man. Hell, I married one! But I like to look at some others, you know....

Yeah, I am pretty nondiscriminatory against hot men...especially if they are nice to kids. Thats the clencher. Take me now, sailor!

I loved how Sarah Silverman did the recap of her abortions--the doctor smacking her ass with the clipboard on the way in was SOLID GOLD. Makes me smile. She touched on a touchy subject with no apologies. Lots of women are very very ashamed and secretive about that stuff. nice that she brought it out--"And the third time I was just like...." dammit I can't remember now, what she said! But she rolled her eyes and it was really funny!
I want to see that show! Only, I live out in the woods and they don't offer cable. Satellites to damn expensive for now.

Is it usually good? If so, I'll look for a DVD of her show to rent on netflix.

And he says, "Everything gets cancer if they live long enough." Whatever!

Speaking from a statistical stand point. "Acquiring" cancer ( I hate saying it like that. Its not like a cold one can "catch") Is in a way like a math equation. The odds increase with time that "mistakes" will be made with one own natural gene mutations. One can enhance the rate of these "mistakes" by in taking or being exposed carcinogens and living a generally unhealthy lifestyle.

Think of it like a toy factory. That can produce 500toys an hour. However, for every 500 toys produced. 5bad(faulty) toys are produced. At the end of the assembly line. The "checkers" (body's defenses) look for these faulty toys. Generally these checkers are able to find all 5 out of every 500toys produced. However, as the toy factory ages and so do the checkers. More faulty toys are made. Going from 5 to 10 toys per 500. While the checkers are only finding about 8 out of every 10 faulty toys.

So, this means for every 500 toys produced. 2 faulty toys are making their way to the market. As the factory continues to produce toys (the body ages) these "mistakes" accumulate. So in 10 hours at a rate of 500 toys and a rate of 2 bad toys per 500. The factory has accumulated 20 faulty toys (gene mistakes).
This example is overly simplified, of course.

Now, as with this factory example. The number of "mistakes" can be reduced with proper upkeep of the factory (the body). So, while mistakes will ALWAYS happen. The rate of which they happen can in fact be slower depending on lifestyle choices. And of course genetics, although, lifestyle is generally the bigger factor.

Saying that ALL things WILL get it eventually. May in fact be right. HOWEVER, "eventually" is a funny word. As, it may be 15 years or 15,000 years!
Thats no excuse to live a ceriten way though. I know someone, who says. "It doesn't matter what I do, I'm going to die anyway".

This person leads a very unhealthy life. His excuse is we all "get" cancer evetually,as well, and all die of something sometime. Right, but see. I doubt he will live long enough to ever see if that "eventually" will come true for him.

I believe, our lifestyle is the greatest factor in cancer risk. People, are not generally born as "cancer prone" as some want you(in general) to believe. So that and this "mentality" that its something we HAVE to deal with. I don't believe to be fully true...

! Yeah, H has been trying for several months to lower his cholesterol through diet and exercise. But it actually is a bit worse now than before. He is the last person to want to go on a pill, but his doc says it's genetic and there's only so much you can do through diet and exercise in this case.

What exactly has he been doing/changing? If you care to say that is.
The actual amount of people who are truly genetically predisposed to have high LDL. Is truly a small number. Well over the majority can effectively lower their LDL while raising their HDL without resorting to "pills".

For example, if you look at people in the poorer parts of china. There is NO such thing as high cholesterol. In fact, the average general cholesterol readings are lower then the "Optimal" number we have here in America.

Well, my H has always been physically active. He plays tennis, walks/jogs, does a bit of weight lifting. He's never been more than 10lbs overweight--and that is rare. His diet is pretty good. He probably eats McD's once a week--a cheeseburger and small fry--he doesn't go for the big macs and large fries--moderation. Eats sweets very rarely. Eats a lot of fresh veggies, fruit and salad. Very little refined carbs or non-lean meats. Honestly, aside from cutting out the occasional fast food, there isn't much for him to improve on. His doc said that eating more omega-3 fatty acids like fish could help. But his dad's side of the family has a history of fatal heart problems. As I mentioned, his dad died of a heart attack at age 64, grandpa at age 59, great grandpa in his forties (i thought it was 54, but H said he was in his 40s). The cardiologist said it's his genes, and also as you get older one's cholesterol tends naturally increase.

Until about 3 weeks ago we just had the very basic cable, so I couldn't get Comedy Central. But now that I have it, I watch it a lot. I knew who Sarah Silverman was, but never watched her show. She is hilarious. This week's episode she sees her dog licking himself and asks, "What is SO great about that?" so she picks the dog up, licks his ass, makes a face and says, "That is fair at best!" Then they show the cops busting through her apt. door and arresting her for beastiality...lmao. Should be hilarious. I don't know if you can get it on DVD or not, but I'm sure you can watch clips at comedycentral.com--but if you have dial up it'll take forever to load.

Oh, and welcome to the harem. I've just decided that you're in....:rotflmao:

Honestly, if he has the genetic predisposition as it seems. Likely, he would have to be "perfect" in his diet and strongly determined in his exercise regimin. Even then, that might not be enough. In which case, it sounds like he is a canidate for da "pillz".

Haha, I'll look for it for sure.

Lol - Umm, I'm glad I'm in. But, What exactly am I in? ;) I'm not sure what a "harem" is...

Yup, neither of us are happy about it, but not much you can do.

A traditional harem is a part of a Middle Eastern palace where the sultan/king keeps his women..lol. So I've amassed a "harem" of WLF men. It's really just a bunch of silliness, but it's fun--for ME at least..:rotflmao: P.S.--Steve is in the harem, too.

Haha, Thats awsome!
Well, I'm proud to be in your "harem". :)
Although, Steve and I might "fight" for alpha status... could be a problem, might want to separate us ;) .

LMAO! Well, the younger has to defer to the older...you know, the whole respect your elders thing..:) And since I'm older than both of you...:rotflmao:

Anyway, you're now an official Harem Hottie.:)

Oh man that's funny!!

Yeah, Trevor, I see what you're saying with cellular functions and faulty ones and all that. I just get frustrated when people have the attitude that healthy living isn't going to prevent anything bad happening! I'm pretty damn sure it does, especially in the ways of heart health and insulin production (to name just 2!).

I'm lucky disease isn't particularly prevelant in my family on either side, too. All I can do is eat well, sleep, de-stress, and exercise like I've been doing. Helps that Santa Cruz air is so nice, too. I HATE valley air....ugh *shudder*

Well, Kimberly, have a fantastic weekend! I'm hung over right now and the Acai juice I drank didn't seem to help much :( Not like I was expecting it too. Ciao!

I'm pretty damn sure it does, especially in the ways of heart health and insulin production (to name just 2!). Trust me--both my H and I are proponents of healthy living and using diet and exercise as a prevention instead of wanting to cure everything with a pill. My mother has a pharmacy on her kitchen counter and it drives me crazy that she'd rather pop pills and shoot insulin in her body everyday rather than eat healthy and exercise. Nearly all of my mom's health problems could be greatly decreased with healthier habits.

Uh oh! Looks like you had too much after all last night eh? lol Well, I can't lecture you b/c I drank like a fish when i was your age.--although I would always guzzle water before going to bed to ward off hangovers--worked most of the time (lucky for me b/c I'm a big wuss and cannot deal with headaches)...:rotflmao:

Damn! It was 85 and humid today!! It should be 20-25 degrees cooler this time of year. This made my walk feel like it did in July. Even though I waited until almost 7 before heading out, it was still 80 outside. We have the air on!! Very odd for October. I miss my crisp autumn weather. It was a good walk, though--I feel great--even with the back of my left thigh is sore from all the housework yesterday..lol.

More football upsets today. Illini beat Wisky, Ok beat TX, VT beat Clemson, Kanasa beat KS St. TN beat GA (poor Paul). Looks like Fla might beat LSU. But Michigan won, so that's all I really care about..lmao:rotflmao:

I agree on the weather. Autumn appears to be skipping southern missouri. I got sticky and sweaty from carrying in the groceries today. Not from exercising or any "fun" activity. That makes me bitter.

More college football upsets! Stanford beat #2USC!!! I cannot express how happy that makes me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :jump::jump::jump: And they beat them at home. And the Stanford coach is Jim Harbaugh--who was QB at Michigan back in the 80s. I love it! And #1LSU is in trouble at home against Florida. Wow. And this just in--Notre Dame is leading UCLA and might just win their first game! Holy crap! What a day. You gotta love college football...:jump::jump:

So here's my question--if LSU loses, who's gonna be #1? Cal or Ohio St.??

Non-football related--my H's mother's home is up for sale in Australia. He grew up there, and so is very sad that it's to be sold, but since his dad passed away in '05 it's just too much more his mum to maintain. I haven't been there since 2001. It's sad to think I'll never see it again. Here's the link to it. Click on the pics to enlarge.

And my H's former neighbor and friend who passed away (he was 80) recently have their house up for sale as well--it's gorgeous and has a tennis court where my H spent many hours playing. I've been there a few times as well. I've sat in the gazebo and watched the boys play tennis..lol.

Damn girl, I don't believe I have seen a woman before who was so into football! Its hot;)...

Damn, Texas loss was SSOO disappointing to me...

Hopefully Dallas and Houston (NFL) will play well to help my football mood:).

Haha! I think MissLadyBug, Kim, is just as into football as I am. But she's a Sooner fan, so being that you're a Texan, that might rub ya the wrong way..lmao.

I LOVE college football. And my H HATES it--he reiterated that last night when I was getting all excited about LSU possibly losing (which they didn't--pulled off the win at the last minute:mad:). I said that hate is a pretty strong word, and H said that it was an accurate description. I swear, if I do ending up divorcing his ass, my next man has gotta love college football...lmao. Honestly, you know how a lot of women moan and groan when their men are watching sports all the time? Well it's the opposite with me and my H..lmao. He's a football widower..:rotflmao:

Anyway, I'm happy that my football fanaticism has the ability to make 18yr-olds turned on. ;) This might sound a bit weird, but I've always thought that sex with a Buckeye right after THE game would be hot as hell--no matter who won..lol. Too bad the Longhorns and Wolverines aren't likely to meet up again anytime soon!! ;) :rotflmao::rotflmao:
