BikiniBound's Diary

Damn Kim looking over your training regime the past few days it is clear you are an ironwoman.

LMAO, I just thought that when you get to goal maybe that would be your new forum name. Then we'd have Ironman and Ironwoman ahahaha.

Very nice Bikini, really keeping those carbs down. I really need to start watching carbs myself.

I can relate completely with the love/hate relationship with the scale. Right now, my scale and I aren't on speaking terms.

Just wanted to stop by and cheer you on. Keep up the good work.

Thanks. Hopefully things will change for both of us soon!

:rotflmao: Thanks, Steve, but there are many women on this forum who put my exercise to shame. I think I do appropriate exercise for my calorie intake, so I am happy with it. I have always been a walker, and I keep pushing myself to increase my speed. I'm trying to work my way up to jogging a mile, then 2, etc. Right now I can do them in 1/4mile increments..lol

You are doing a stellar job Kimberly, so I do hope the scale is cooperative when you [finally] get up (snicker). I mean really! What's up with these damn things, I've just about had it with mine. Perhaps its age is getting in the way of our relationship? My boss is a tag sale collector so he probably got the scale used, and then he gave it to me about 7 years ago when I used it in his spare bathroom and commented on it..I believe its over 30 years old. But its one of those really good doctor scales with the weights (a Detecto) that I personally think is better than the digital, despite being mad old skool.

I think you're doing an excellent job with your work-outs. First of all, you go and actually do them (unlike my lazy ass lately). And you're growing and improving with your jogging intervals. Nevermind that a 3-4 mile walk is nothing to sneeze at on its own. I found circuit training a really good way to break into weights. I did it for about the first 3 months that I started, but I soon became interested in using some of the free weights and doing exercises like squats and lunges where you can start out without any weights. You really feel the muscles in your ass afterwards and let me tell you my ass pops out from years (off and on) of doing those--even at my advanced age of 39 .

I have no idea!! Somehow, I manage. We almost got expanded cable a few months ago, and I was soo excited b/c I'd have ESPN. But we ended up keeping our basic, basic cable. Haha! How many women do you know who want cable just for sports?? My grandma's the same way. Must get it from her.

I watch sports center at least 2x a day :rotflmao:

Just stopping by to give some love:hug2: ... I'll catch up in a few days. Just wanted to let ya know that I've got you in my thoughts!

You are 39!!!??? Damn--you look great! And you had a baby around 38 then? You give me hope. I'm 35 and scared to death that my ovaries are going to shrivel up and die before I pop any babies out!! :rotflmao: :rotflmao: Did you have any trouble getting preggers?

Oh, I was up at 8:15 today (early for me), so I wasn't too bad..lol

And now the scale...................237:boxing: But, if I'd gotten enough fiber yesterday (if ya know what I mean) I think it would have been 236 or below. So I am consoling myself with that thought, and really upping the fiber today! :rotflmao:

And now the following rant comes courtesy of my friend who I told you about that had the baby a year ago and still has the baby belly--everything else is skinny, just the belly. Her problem is that she doesn't consistantly get off her ass and exercise--makes every excuse in the book--and she eats cookies and sweets all the time. She had the nerve today, after I told her I was low carbing it at the moment, to tell me that I should read this book called Skinny Bitch. Here is the excerpt from her email:

OK - enough b.s. If you really want to lose the weight for good, you gotta read "Skinny Bitch". I have a copy. It's a pretty popular book right now, but that's not why I bought it. There's no b.s. in this book and no room for excuses. You will drop the weight fast but you gotta throw out all of that b.s. "the mainstream media" has told you about weight loss.

Basically the premise of the book is to eat 100% organic and become a vegan. Ummm...helloooo?! Are there not tons of people on this forum alone who have lost shitloads of weight without doing this? And is my friend not a vegan and organic eater and does she still not have this belly? Have I not lost 40lbs without following this regimen? Anyway, it pissed me off in a big way. I am fackin' steamed about this. I'm sick of her being all preachy and trying to get me to convert to her vegan religion. Not going to happen! I love meat too damn much and I am too poor to buy organic--my grocery bill would double. I do buy organic when it's on sale for the same price as non-organic..lol

Also, I don't think that book puts much emphasis on proper hydration and regular exercise along with strength training. And, it says protein isn't that important!!! I've had a high protein diet since I started this...lol. Seems to be working for me. Grrrrr....:boxing: :boxing:

Ok, end of rant. Personally, I don't think a skinny girl who's never struggled with any weight issues but 5lbs of baby belly has much of a right to lecture me about this subject. Ok, THAT was the end of the rant!:)

Have a fackin' fantastic, high protein day everyone!!!:rotflmao:

:rotflmao: That would be QUITE annoying. My skinny sister wouldn't dare tell me anything about losing weight, I've been working at it since I turned 13 when I lost my first 10 pounds, nor does my naturally size 0 (and 5'11" tall) friend know a shit thing about health, exercise or weightloss.

I know we're not supposed to talk about this anymore but I must say, you really are so full of shit. And I think that's why you didn't hit below 236. :rotflmao: Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Yes, and the thing is that before her conversion to the wonderful world of vegetarianism she ate all the unhealthy crap like the rest of us--cheeseburgers, taco hell, nachos, pizza, etc. And--she never got fat--and she rarely exercised once she got out of high school. So she can't even say that she's skinny b/c of her current lifestyle. And, she isn't any healthier, either. She's always sick with something. I, who consume lots of meat and very little that is organic am rarely sick--especially since I started exercising regularly and eating better. I think I had one short-lived minor head cold over the winter, while she gets sick about once a month it seems. So I am totally unconvinced.

Yes, I'm sure my problem is that I'm full of shit...:rotflmao: I thought this subject grossed you out, but apparently not!! :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Exercise for this week:
8/27--40min circuit training
8/28--42.5 min walk--3miles w/jogging IT
8/29--60min walk--4 miles no IT

Food for Today:
meal#1--pepperoni slices, one slice of deli roast beef, 3 slices of cheddar cheese
meal#2--chicken veggie stirfry (5g)
meal#3--low-carb protein shake (2g)
meal#4--hamburger patty with cheese
meal#5--canteloupe (12g)
meal#6--organic peanut butter (6g)
25g of net carbs total

Well, I did really well on food today. Luckily, those cookies at the office weren't much of a tempation once I realized the kind I really like were already gone. Plus I had other good food there to eat, so that help a lot. I could probably eat more, b/c I think my calories are about 1200-1300, but I'm not really hungry.

Exercise-wise I decided not to do any IT today--want to give me joints a rest. I had planned on going to the gym, but couldn't get there before it closed. I will go tomorrow instead.

I sooo want that damn scale to say I'm below 236 tomorrow!!! This would require me to be down 2lbs from today's weigh-in. 264, 254, 241, 236--these are the numbers I plateaued at. I shouldn't have plateaued so soon. Usually it's 10-14lbs before I do. This time only 5#. Grr..yes, I'm whining, I know..lol Damn scale!:boxing: It's a love/hate relationship, isn't it?

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: Weight hasn't been melting off for over 2wks now!! BB is getting frustrated!! Hopefully this challenge will help--although motivation hasn't been a problem...

Oh yes, to respond to your preggers question. I didn't have a bit of trouble, nor did my sister when she got immediately preggers for the second time at age 40 (she'll turn 41 one month before giving birth). Good that you're getting the excess weight off as that supposedly hinders things. Personally I would not let H escape until he had me knocked up though, never know when you'll find the next H and by then sometimes people run out of time. A lady in my office waited til she finally found an H and by then she couldn't get preggers. Bad point of that strategy is now I'm stuck with H when we're not getting along. But its so worth it all for my little one. Once she's a bit older I can do my own thing again if I want, so I'm not too worried. She's so damn cute!

Well, part of the reason I want issues resolved with H is b/c I don't want to have kids with him if it isn't going to work out. Actually, if he doesn't get a decent job soon so we can move out of parents' house then I am going to find someone else b/c I can't wait anymore. I don't want to get pregnant if we're gonna get divorced. I don't want to be a single mom, and he is from Australia, so that would pose HUGE custody problems. I have no worries about finding a new husband. Once I lose this weight, I will be a pretty damn good catch! Haha. Any man would be a fool not to want me! The question is--will I want them? Yes, my modesty is really quite astounding!! :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Anyway, I'm glad you and your sis didn't have any trouble conceiving. That makes me feel hopeful.

Just dropping by to say hi & good luck with the Halloween challenge. The House on Weightloss Hill is going to win this!

Looks like you are a pro at the weight loss, 41.5 lbs is impressive!

Hi there,
Hang in there, it will be worth it!
Re Babies....I'm 34 soon and with polycystic ovarian syndrome I am very worried about leaving it too late, as it is going to take me a while to conceive. But Im without a sperm donor! However the weight loss now is to get my body baby ready for when I do find one...and being slimmer may help me find a donor sooner too...double whammy :rotflmao:
Got some practice in last weekend which was fun with a newer body ;)

Blancita, Sheryl, Jenna and Rena--this is for you--I'm not as full of shit as I was this morning....:rotflmao: :rotflmao: So far I've had about 15g of fiber just from psyllium husk..lol. I gulped down a glass this morning and another this afternoon. Man that shit is nasty!! :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Oh, H had an appt with the marriage counsellor this afternoon. I'm very curious to see if 1. He showed up and 2. How it went...
