BikiniBound's Diary

Rae--Hey girl! Glad to see you around. I've missed you! :grouphug: I'm not really down about the weight--haha @the pun. Irritated is more like it. :biggrinjester: Was down another 1/2lb today (217), so I'm just 1/2lb up from last week's low. If I am good today--a Saturday  I will hopefully either be back to 216.5 tomorrow, or maybe even a new low. :svengo:

Dad and I had a talk about Mom today and we both agreed that she needs to seriously lose weight. I am hoping this means he will not buy anymore junk food, but that may be hoping for too much. He didn't sound like he was willing to give it up himself.

Bella--I am much better at resisting buying naughty things b/c they cost $$. But once it's at home--well that's when the temptation REALLY begins..lol.

Update on Mom is that they are doing an echo-cardiogram sometime today, and also looking at her electrolights (sp). They are also going to weigh her, so it'll be interesting to see if she did lose any weight over the past few weeks. I suspect she might be a bit lower, as she is not eating quite as much as she used to. They said she might come home today, but it'll more than likely be tomorrow.

I think its hilarious that you call your scale "Scalentino!" I used to call mine "Big Daddy" lol Look at you with your 61 pound loss. I cant wait until I am there. Keep at it, you've been making some progress! Go girl!

I wish I could take credit for coming up with Scalentino, but that has to go to Sheryl aka MsGhettoBooty who is currently AWOL. I did not give her leave to be absent. :biggrinjester:

LMAO@ Big Daddy!

Kimberley, did they check your mom's lungs already? I would've thought they would do that first with her family history and that all is clear on that front? Funny how dad doesn't make the connection between your mom's health problems and his impending problems from his own weight issues. Reality check needed HAHA. And of course he's no different than most of us, sometimes it really takes a serious personal scare for one to change our bad habits.

Its HARD to just diet continuously for long long periods of time and there are times when we will go toward maintaining and just trying not to gain. You've taken some mini maintenance breaks here and there and I think that's a good thing. Not that you need my reminder, but the weight WILL be coming off (as you know..you are quite confident in your determination).

You are such a steady force on this forum and I would be so upset if you just disappeared like so many of our other former daily posting friends. Definitely very glad you're a part of the forum!

Aww! Thanks. You're gonna make cry with all those sweet compliaments. :D I love you, too, and am glad you are also still hanging around. :grouphug: I hope we get to meet up in Sept. I would love to just go on a little world tour and visit a bunch of WLF people. :D Oh, to be rich. :biggrinjester:

Yeah, I think Dad is in denial. I just hope he snaps out of it. He has lost over 80lbs at one time--a few years ago. Then he gave up and put it all back on. He is either on the wagon like a Spartan, or off it like a Dionysus of food...lol. He has not learned how to do a happy medium. It is either no junk food at all, or eating it like there's no tomorrow.

They did check mom's lungs--did a chest x-ray yesterday. I think they suspect it's her heart more than her lungs atm.

I am so sorry to hear of your mother's health problems. Naturally we hope that she makes a speedy full recovery and you stop getting all this stress.

While she is having these problems - the hospital is the best place for her. It is good that the tests are being done in order that the problem be deduced, advice be given and the treatment begin.

As others have said - hopefully the shock will scare some motivation into her which will bring her (and your father) to make big changes and rescue their health as many of us are doing.

Well done for keeping your calories so restrained and your nutrition so healthy - especially with all this going on. Also for doing some exercise - it is a great stress reliever - and the fact that it helps you lose weight is an added bonus.

Hopefully the scales will reward you tomorrow. We know how fickle the scales are and how often we work such that we deserve a loss at the scales - but find that there is a game of chance involved in whether that loss comes immediately or not. The loss tends to come eventually though if we keep on working hard.

I hope that things generally improve for you very soon.

Thanks Margaret!

Mom is home. She came home about an hour ago. She has been off oxygen for most of the day and sounds much better than she did yesterday. She now has another pill to add to her daily regimen. I guess it's nothing too serious. They just want to keep her hearbeat under control. Whether she and dad are going to change their eating habits remains to be seen.

Another good day of eating and exercise. I'm especially pleased b/c this is the first Friday and Saturday of good eating that I've had in a very long time. I can't remember the last time, actually..lol. My average calories for the last 5 days are 1,515. :hurray:

Glad to hear your mom came home :) Hopefully her and your dad will change their habits. In the end it's up to them. Glad to hear she is out of the hospital though and doing better.

Great job on the cals my dear. Your doing great. I'm working on that too. I just gotta get thru these nights and things will get back to normal.

-Sam

Good job on the 1500 cal average. That is TOUGH to pull off on a weekend.

And far more importantly, also glad to hear mom's back home and feeling better. I dunno..being put on oxygen is a scary thing for anyone. Hope its a wake-up call. Dad is still smoking away so no luck over here either..

Stuck through it on the weekend whit all the other stress, huh? That's great stuff, Kimberly. Congrats.

you have done so well with your calories lately. And I admire that you find time for exercise EVERY day. I've been finding that hard lately. Have a great day!

Sam, Brandy, Cita and Steve--Thanks for cheering me on. :) I am very pleased with myself for finally showing some discipline on the weekend. Strangely enough, it hasn't been that hard for some reason. :svengo: Weight is the same as yesterday.

Claudia--Sorry to hear your dad is still smoking. Has he tried to give it up, or is he just being stubborn? I know from first hand experience that it's not easy to sit there helplessly and watch a parent slowly kill themselves needlessly. Unfortunately, there is only so much we can do. I know Margaret feels the same way about her H.

Looks like H and I are going to an all you can eat buffet for dinner. Since I still have about 1,000 calories allotted for the day, I think I'll be okay. :Angel_anim: Yes, as my gran often says, my halo is burning brightly...hahaha :smilielol5:

Well, the halo's disappeared. I ate A LOT at dinner. :ack2:

I'm not too happy with myself, b/c I was really hoping for a new low tomorrow. That is probably not gonna happen now..lmao. Well, at least I only ate badly one day this weekend, instead of the usual 3.

After we finished stuffing ourselves, I made H go for a walk with me downtown by the Ford Museum along the river. There is a park there with a bunch of paths to walk down, so we had a leisurely stroll that helped us feel less full. In fact, I was feeling pretty good by the end of it, so we went back to the restaurant and ate more..hahah J/K!! I haven't eaten since..lol. Funny thing--while we were walking we saw some pages from a porn magazine just laying on the ground near some shrubs. It was pretty graphic, and I can't help but wonder what went on there earlier...lol. Actually, I probably don't wanna know...

My day didn't go any better :D. Let's chalk it up to a REFEED and move on LOL. I know you already have.. I'm STILL full and its the next morning!

Well your currently winning the BMI Race!!! Congrats!!!
With my small gains over the past month I gave up the lead.
WAY TO GO GIRLIE!!!

But don't think I won't try my dangdest to reclaim title of BMI QUEEN! LOL :smilielol5:

Ah, but you get the credit for carrying on the jargon for sure! hehe Surely MGB will get her booty back in here, you can't help but miss this place when you are away.

YOu have BEEN doing so amazing LATELY!!! ITs okay for a baby BOO BOO!!! I took a HUGE fall though!!! BUT I'm back!!! MISSED YOU!!! ;)

That's great that you had a good weekend. Thats the hardest time to stay in check with diets, I think. I purposely make my weight in at the dietician on Monday to make me rethink my food on the weekends!

Hi Kimberly

It is great news that your mother is home.

You did really well with your calories and exercise over much of the weekend (much much better than me) despite you thinking that you had slipped up a bit. I certainly had to put Friday and Saturday down as a refeed! I havent added up but am sure that both of those days I will have had more than your big day.

Celebrate the fact that you were good on Friday and Saturday. Things would have been a lot worse if you had eaten solidly on those days too.

Take care
Love
Margaret
