BikiniBound's Diary

Sam--Don't be afraid to fly. Your chances of getting into a fatal car accident are far greater than your plane crashing, trust me! :)

The lack of toenail doesn't hurt at all, so it's just weird is all. I've never lost a toenail before that I can remember..lol

I love cheese, too--especially feta. The nice thing about feta is that it's lower in calories and fat than most cow's milk cheese. And it's super tasty. :D

Your booze laws are not surprising...lol. It is rather silly, imo. I mean, people are still gonna drink. But I still can't see the logic in not being able to sell beer and wine, and yet hard liquor being ok??!! I mean, Jesus drank wine, after all. :willy_nilly:

Margaret--You are frequently sans toenails? This is a first for me. It doesn't hurt or anything, but it's strange for me. :)

Yeah, I will have to pursue the ticket change further. I didn't book them through a travel agency, I was dealing directly with Northwest Airlines on the phone the other day.

Weight is still at 219.5. At least I'm not in the 220s...lol. Am trying to be good today.

I'm so envious of you and Dawn meeting up tomorrow. Naturally we expect a full report in both diaries. Be sure to itemise all food since you have told me that you get all sorts of yummy things in these places. If the dishes do not have an obvious description - explain. I had to google to find out what on earth a shoofly thing is!

It is always a struggle to be good. Congratulate yourself for trying.

Whether with a travel agency or airline - escallation is the way if the first person doesnt give you what you want. There is nothing to lose.

The only times that I got problems when the toenails came fully off (happened with two nails on left foot in Autumn / Winter) was when my yoga teacher wanted me to do poses where I had the floor pressing against the front of my toes. This is not something that I would suggest that you do - so avoid enthusiastic yoga teachers!

Currently I have one toenail (biggest toe right foot) where the nail is broken nearly across about half way up the nail. It is too far down to be able to cut the toenail the rest of the way across and is irritating because it keeps catching on things. I have taken to putting a strip of elastoplast around it to stop it catching. The next nail along is damaged near the bottom and it will probably end up the same way.

Hey Kimberly.... thanks for stopping by my diary. :)

And a big congrats hitting that new low the other day.... 216 is awesome!!! Your weight jumped back up but remember, it's the trends that matter. Hitting new lows means you are trending down over time.

Keep it up.

Bella--Sorry we can't meet up Weds. :( Trust me, hanging out with you would be much preferable to working...lol.

Margaret--Unfortunately, I had to postpone our meeting this week due to work. The holiday yesterday pushed a meeting that is normally on Tuesday to Weds. Plus I listed a house today and have to go put the sign out and take pics tomorrow. And I will hopefully be getting an offer on my other listing tomorrow as well.

I will have no trouble staying away from enthusiastic yoga teachers. :smilielol5: That sounds painful re your toenails.

Being good is certainly a struggle, and one I didn't succeed to well with yesterday...lmao. I was pretty good today, however. Of course this was mainly due to being so busy with work this afternoon that I skipped lunch.

Steve--Thanks for the congrats. My lb loss seems rather insignificant compared to your harrowing trip to Mt. Washington..lol. Everybody should read your story about that in your diary if they want a good read. Damn, that was some experience!

5/26—24min bike, 9 miles, weight: 219.5, calories: 2,092
5/27—40 min circuit training, weight: 220, calories: 1,530

Finally had a good day of eating and exercise. Hopefully the scale will be back under 220 tomorrow. :ack2:

It's a shame that you and Dawn have had to postpone things. Work has to come first. It will be great if you get an offer in. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

We all have a struggle with being good. We know what we ought to do - it is just that we sometimes have a bit of a problem with doing it. I hope that the scales reward you.

Margaret--We have rescheduled for next Weds. Hopefully we will both be able to make it...lol

I didn't used to have such a hard time being good with my food. But the last 6 months or so have been really hard for some reason. You, however, seem to win the battle. I wish I knew your secret. Maybe it's just better will power. :)

Steve--bon apres midi. :)

Weight was 219 today--so better than yesterday. It might've even been lower if I hadn't weighed myself 4-5hrs earlier than normal. :D

Already up to 900 calories for the day. :ack2: That means I've about 600-700 left for dinner etc. Can I do it? Sure. Will I? Well....:angelsad2:

Ok, bad attitude. I WILL behave.

219 is most certainly better and that 4 to 5 hours would definitely make a difference too. I sometimes get a pound difference between my weight pre and post walk.

I am sure that you and Dawn are going to have a great time next week.

I regularly lose the honey shreddies battle - but I think that the best thing that I have done is to divert my diet towards on the whole really healthy stuff. It kind of means that I can overeat and not get too badly punished as long as I am overeating basically healthy stuff.

I have told Rod to suggest that I maybe want to stop buying them when we next go shopping. If I didnt have any in the house I am sure that I could tighten up my nutrition. I wouldnt save the calories - but I am sure that I could spend the calories more wisely.

When I checked out my nutrition - my magnesium levels were lower than I anticipated. I understand that it is found in wholegrain. I emailed weetabix and nestle (that make honey shreddies) to find out their magnesium content. I got the typical weetabix content of magnesium and updated the fitday profile. Nestle claimed that there was no magnesium - which surprised me. They make a big thing about it being wholegrain.

I am thinking that I could have some protein and a plate full of salad if I gave the honey shreddies a miss. Alternatively I could eat loads of bowls of jelly! Only time will tell if I can stop eating the things.

Well, dinner is eaten and up to 1490 calories, so that is pretty good. The trick will be whether or not I can keep from pigging out this evening. :piggy:
:biggrinjester:
I am pretty sure that if I can keep my calories under 1700 and get on my bike later, that the scale will go down further tomorrow. I have been looking in the mirror a lot today, and I can see that my face is still really fat, so that should be all the motivation I need...lmao.

Margaret--I would give you some big kudos if you suddenly cut out the honey shreddies..lol. I know that would be a major sacrifice on your part. However, as the scale has been going down for you rather nicely lately, I see no reason why you should cut them out. :biggrinjester:

Hey Kimberly,

Great job on the cals for today... I'm at about 800 so far and I'm not sure what I'm going to do for dinner since I'm stuck at work and didn't plan too well for it... Wanted to do the gym tonite but I don't think it's going to happen. For sure tomorrow though, and on Friday and Saturday....

Hang in there,
Sam

Hi ya doll.

The curse has lifted for a brief moment, so I'm finally able to get to J's. :biggrinjester:

So sorry you have hit a bit of a rough patch. :hug2:

You're one strong woman, so you'll shake this off and get back ta kickin' butt!

:D

Great job on the exercise!

I hope you have a Goal Reachin' Thursday!

<3 Ya!

Hiya Kimberly. So did you keep the cals in check after dinner? Hope so!

Yeppers! :svengo:

5/26—24min bike, 9 miles, weight: 219.5, calories: 2,092
5/27—40 min circuit training, weight: 220, calories: 1,530
5/28—30 min bike, 10.9 miles, weight: 219, calories: 1,650

And Scalentino rewarded me by going down to 217.5--just one lb higher than my low of 216.5 last Friday. I would love to get back to that or even below it by tomorrow morning so that I have a loss for the Summer Solstice Challenge this week.

Sam--Hope you found something healthy for dinner last night. :) My work schedule is very changeable, and often sudden, so I sometimes find myself in a similar position--on the go with nothing to eat..lol.

Brandy--Those late night munchies can be killers, eh? :)

Hey BB! Are you still doing the C25K?

Also, September may be out for me as well. My mother was going to babysit Bella that weekend but her job has just changed her hours so she will be working weekends until January. :banghead: It doesn't look I am going to have much of a life for about 6 months. Grrr!

Eh, it's really not so bad. Just been a little slack in the motivation at times. I realized I only lost 38lbs between Memorial weekend 2007 and 2008. :ack2: Time to get my arse in gear on a daily basis..lol. Lately I only seem to do that 3-4 days out of the week. Thanks for the pep talk. :D

Good Luck with tomorrow's weigh in!! and yes... late night munchies SUCK.

Thanks! Yes, they do. I find I'm much better if I do something that distracts me from thinking about it. Last night it was an old movie on TCM. There are no commercials on that channel, so it makes me less likely to want to munch. I was also doing Sudoku and crossword puzzles while watching it--helping even more..lol.
