BikiniBound's Diary

Hi Kimberly

It is great to see the scale down to 218.5. I knew that you were owed a loss for all that walking. I hope that the feet are recovering well.

It's great to see that you are well rounded over there and despite being a young country are getting to grips with the ancient art of nagging.

I cannot imagine buying a property without engaging a solicitor. The day that an offer is accepted you get in touch with your solicitor and the estate agent wants that day to know who is acting on your behalf. It just demonstrates how - while many things are almost identical with just different terms being used - some things are totally different between there and here.

It sounds like those banks are a real pain.

Take care
Love
Margaret

I think the title companies here along with the realtors do the job that a lawyer would normally do. People who are buying a "for sale by owner" property often engage a lawyer to help them, but if one has a real estate agent working for them, there is usually no need for a lawyer unless something unique comes up. Of course, there are plenty of times when people hire lawyers after the closing, but that is usually to sue the previous owner or their agent/broker etc...lol Our broker does have a lawyer on retainer that we can call with any questions we might have. My broker charges each agent $200 per year, plus $25 per closing for this service. I think that lawyer makes some pretty good $$ from us--and I know he's super busy b/c of it. :)

The banks are a pain. We still haven't heard anything. :(

Stacy--Yup, I got H's insurance in March, so we have been trying for a baby since then. Also, H's mom sold her house in Australia, and H got some $$ from that, so we are looking for a house. Time to get our own place!! Long overdue.

Weight was still 218.5 today despite another 2000 calorie day yesterday. :blush5: I'm really trying to be good today. :D

It certainly sounds like things are a bit different over there when it comes to buying property.

I hope that you hear soon about the house. It must be quite stressful not knowing where you stand with things.

I would be counting a second day at 218.5 as being good if you had 2000 calories yesterday. It is so easy to drift upwards. Naturally we would all like to see a reduction every time - and maybe it will come today (Thursday) for you.

I just saw that our BMI's are getting really close now! You are only behind me by.2! GULP!!! I need to get hoofing if I am going to stay ahead of you on our BMI race!

Not so much stressed as irritated! :D

I was really relieved yesterday to see that the scale hadn't changed for the worse! Today was down another half pound to 218. 217.5 is my lowest, so I'm hoping for a new low tomorrow.

Bella-You were looking for some new motivation--I hope that is enough. :D

My passport arrived on Tuesday! :svengo: That took 8 days from the day I sent it out to the day it arrived. So now I don't have to worry about it getting here before we leave...lol. H will not be going without me!

I've been thinking that in a way I'm glad I'm not pregnant yet. This way I can enjoy the full British pub experience. :D It would suck sitting there watching H drink down the pints by himself. :toetap05:

What are you going to do if you're preggers in september and have to watch Kim, Claud and I drink down some alcohol goodness? Lol! Besides, you can't come to Little Rock and not sample our home brewed beer at Boscos.

ha! I have thought about that, too..lol. Well, as long as it's in small quantities, I don't have issues with having an occasional sample of the booze. Studies have shown that it's safe to drink in strict moderation--and even beneficial with red wine.

News on our offer on the condo-- we didn't get it. Got outbid. :cuss: Oh well. It wasn't meant to be. I think I might put the house search off until after we return from Europe for reasons already stated. :)

Whoa, I feel like I have been gone forever!
I see you're trying to have a baby and buy a house.
Good luck with both endeavors.
Wow! :D

Sorry you got outbid on the condo. Hopefully there will be a better deal for you just round the corner.

Good news about the passport though!

Also good news about the weight being down to 218. I'm hoping for a new low tomorrow for you.

Sorry about the news on the condo. I'm sure there will be others for you though. Your a smart cookie and you know what your doing :)

PS I would want to be able to drink some pints with my hubby in Europe too. That sounds so fun to me :cheers2:

Glad to hear you got your passport. Those things can be such a worry sometimes. It took my bro forever before he got his for the cruise he went on last year.

Take care hun ;) Everything happens the way it does for a reason, right?

I'm thinking about writing another offer on that first house we bid on..lol.

I'm hoping for a new low, too. I never got to the gym today, though. :blush5: Maybe the bike later on.

So before I booked our trip, H said he HAD to visit his friend in Cali, and the only week he could do it was the last week of June. So that only left us one week in London. Then, right after I booked our trip, he told his Aussie friends we were going to London. they all said a week is too short, and we should go for longer. So H wanted to extend the trip. I said we couldn't b/c of his Cali trip. Oh, he can go there in August he says. Before I booked, I asked if he couldn't go in August. No, his friend wasn't going to be around then. So we decided if it wasn't too expensive, we'd change our tickets to spend an extra week in the UK and go to Scotland and maybe Cornwall. I called today, and it would cost us at least $200 per person to change the tickets. :cuss: So we will just stick to the week. It's annoying though, bc I had gotten really excited about staying longer. Whah whah whah. :biggrinjester:

However, I have two couples interested in my listing, so if that sells, we are definately either extending the trip or going to Europe (including the Continent) again in late July. I found pretty good prices on tickets. I'm such a dropkick! :biggrinjester:

Your brother probably applied for his passport during the big rush last year. Things have settled down now. :) Still, I expected to wait at least 2 weeks for mine.

Yup, everything happens for a reason. I firmly believe that. There is a reason why I can't spend 2 weeks in europe...lmao.

I will enjoy every minute of that trip. I even promise to go to bed early so I can get up early and cram as much into each day as we can. And I can't wait to knock back of few with H in the wonderful English pubs. :cheers2: Even if beers cost $5 a pint!! That really is about what they cost here when you factor in the tip, though.

Watching game 2 of the Pistons/Celtics. Hope my team pulls of this one. That would be huge--it would mean the Celts would have to win in Detroit to pull off the series. :reddevil:

5/19—None, weight: 220.5, calories: 2,196
5/20—None, weight: 218.5, calories: 2,140
5/21—None, weight: 218.5, calories: 1,607
5/22—12 min walk/jog, 1 mile, 30min bike, 10.9 miles, weight: 218, calories: 1,690

Decided to go for a short walk and ended up running almost half of it. :svengo: My first real walk since the big one. I went out yesterday and got some really cushioned pads for callouses and put them on my little toes. I can walk normally now--even run, I guess. :D

It was only 12 minutes, but I am really sweating right now! That was the fastest mile I've ever done. Hopefully that along with my eating will give me a new low tomorrow. :)

Edit: I ended up doing 30 min on the bike as well. Yes, I am determined to get a new low tomorrow. :D

Oh yeah baby! My Pistons beat the Celtics in Boston!! :hurray::hurray: This means the Celtics have to win on the road if they're gonna win the series. And so far, they haven't been able to at all during the playoffs.

I know none of you reading this care about my basketball babble, but it's my diary and I'll babble about b-ball if I want to..lol. :biggrinjester: So thanks for putting up with my sports talk. :)

Hey Kimberly!!

Hope you're happy--looks like you have a big trip planned, and you're still with your husband, so good!

I'm happy, single, getting enough work, working in the wine biz as usual, and trying not to worry about the wild fire raging in the Santa Cruz Mountains today! Hope it stops soon, no containment yet I don't think.
I ran Bay to Breakers (race acroos San Francisco) on Sunday and came in as the 148th woman out of 35,000 runners :)

I'm going to a Beer Festival this weekend with the ex ;)

I'm also dating a cutie pie 22-year-old with a perfect body.

But! Still at 152-150 lbs, same as I was several months ago, but I'm cool with it.

I hope to be around more...

So is my man's team out then? He LOVES the 76ers. In fact he's totally disloyal to our city as his FB team is the Cowboys and his baseball team is the SF Giants. I happen to LOVE the YANKEES! All those fine puerto ricans and dominicans. OMG, you should see some of the fine guys that play on the teams in the parks around here (like my gorgeous PR ex). They love them some baseball. OK, lemme stop turning this into a drool session. IMO that's the ONLY reason to watch sports HAHA.

Not that I want you leaving our forum or anything, but have you ever checked out the ESPN forum? H is always on there blogging about dumbass sports. He used to make fun of me all the time for chatting on the WLF, but now he's ALWAYS on that damn ESPN message board with all his cronies from his sports teams leaving messages on his dumbass sports page or whatever including chicks LOL.

Damn girl! That is awesome re the race you did. That easily puts you in the top 1%! :hurray:
I was a 24hr walker in the Am. Cancer Society Relay for Life last weekend and logged 40 miles in 17.5hrs.

Mmm...beer festival? Don't tell my H, he'll make his Northern Cali trip early!! :smilielol5:

I hope you're around more, too. :)

Claudia--I'm already on the ESPN boards...lmao. Not nearly as much as here, and mainly during college football season. Oh, and my Pistons took out the 76ers in the first round. :D You can keep your Yankees, though. :D I love my Tigers. :) They may not be hot latinos, but I root for 'em anyway--but really, I don't get into baseball much. My granny is a DIEHARD Tigers and Cubs fan...lol. Drooling over men in sports is nothing to be ashamed of. :D I mean, c'mon. You think men watch Anna Kournikova play tennis for the love of the game?? :smilielol5: Although I haven't seen her playing lately. Guess she makes more money off modelling.

Sarah--Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to not keep quiet and say something. I'm sure it'll be of interest. ;) I am heading over to your neck of the woods, but looks like we'll be pretty much in London the whole time.
