BikiniBound's Diary

Sorry you are still ahving winter weather crap! I would hate to still be getting that much snow so close to Easter, when it is supposed to finally feel like spring. (Of course, we had no snow, but enough rain to flood everything and set records this week! Over 9 inches of rain in 12 hours.)

So, any baby making plans tonight? Gotta get that bun in the oven...or at least the preheating done...

Yah, the weather sucks. 9 inches or rain in 12hrs! We got 4 inches of snow in about 5hrs. :ack2:

The baby making attempt has been made already tonight. ;) I've worn H out, and now he's gone to bed. :sifone:

Priti--I'll take 40 degree weather!! It was down to 28F by 6pm tonight. :ack2:

Amba~
Last year we had ice and 4 inches of snow on Easter morning. :ack2:
It totally sucked since all my flowering bushes were just about to pop open. So all the flowers were effectively all killed off. Which made for a very dull spring. I just love my dogwood trees and azeala (sp?) bushes.
This year it would seem that it is trying to repeat. Except for nothing is ready to bloom. So I may still have a colorful spring yet!

Kimberly~
If your anything like I was when we were trying for my oldest then your h will soon be complaining that he feels like a slab of meat!!!! LOL :sifone:
Have fun pre-heating that oven! :smilielol5:

With my little bitty weight loss this I week I tied your BMI. :sifone:
Get that metabolism Crack~a~lacken girl!
I'm on your tail now. LOL :driving:

I suspect :reddevil: will arrive at any moment since my weight is up 3.5lbs from yesterday! :cuss: Of course, I'm sure eating almost 3,400 calories yesterday had nothing to do with it. :blush5:

Driving to the office this morning was no fun at all. The roads were still very icy and slick. However, in the last 2hrs, the temps seem to have warmed a bit, and the road crews out taking care of business, appear to have melted some of it. It is very sunny out atm--too bad it's cold and there's snow on the ground. I'd love to go for a walk if it wasn't. The high today is only 35F. :toetap05:

GIRLLLLL I so feel your ICEY,SNOW,COLD ass weather pain I thought I was going to die I hate the crap we got a VAN back yesterday after the semi icey road accident and i think it still runs BAD.
I got to walk a LONNG time lastnight it had to be 50 I swear it it wendy and 30's today, can't the warm weather STAY already lol!
HAVE A NICE WEEKEND AND EASTER STAY WARM CHIN UP!

awwww.... that sucks! I hate when I want to go out...but the weather sucks. Thankfully its really nice here today. Hope the rest of your day goes well!

Hey, does purposely working your ass off in yardwork count as exercise for the challenge? I am torching some major calories out there while raking and weeding!!

I can't believe you went from having sunny weather to icy snow. I really don't envy you at all!

SOunds like the baby making process is tons of fun for both you and hubby!

I hate when the scale moves up that much on me in a day. I have never kept track of how much I gain during TOM so I always freak out when I see a higher weight instead of logically thinking that it's likely related to TOM. Hmmmm was the 3400 cals yesterday part of your plan to get your metabolism going? Or was it just you having too much fun on a Fri night? :)

Sorry that the weather continues to be so bad for you. It seems to be worse on your reasonable days than it is for us on our bad days.

It was lucky that you didnt have to take a treacherous drive in order to try and get that house purchase. It is great that you are finding a decent amount of business all of a sudden. I have every faith in your ability to steer your client towards a successful outcome.

You say that the bank will not be interested until Monday. Is that not a bank holiday there? - it is one here.

Ha! I would say it was a little bit of both. :blush5:

Tammy & Brandy--The ice is all gone now, as is most of the snow. Hopefully that was the last of the season. :svengo:

We ran into the other people who wrote an offer on the same house as we did. I know our offer was better than their initial offer, but now that they know we are competing, they upped theirs. So now we just wait and see. Our offer is good and clean--the listing agent was impressed. I just hope that it being contingent upon her other house closing will hurt her.

This afternoon I took a look at a house I thought might be good for us to buy. It is within easy walking distance to my gym, so that was a big bonus. But the house needs about $60K worth of work--about 3 times as much as I'm willing to sink into it..lol. So that one's out of consideration.

Margaret--Monday is not a holiday here, so the banks are open. Easter Monday is a bank holiday in Australia, too, so H was annoyed that he has to work Monday. Poor baby. :p

Amy--I would consider strenuous yard work exercise. If I raked my yard today, I'd only get snow...hahaha :nopity:

I hate when you like most of the house, but there are certain things you know absolutely MUST be changed! I feel like whenever I go looking at houses for my parents we always talk about changing so much stuff and it ends up adding up to like 100,000, and at that rate you figure, why not just find a house you like more! It's such a pain house hunting though b/c you will never find exactly what you want b/c you didn't design it yourself, and even if you had, you'd prob still find stuff wrong with it! Ahhh the joys of house hunting! It's a good thing you LIKE doing it!

Happy Easter.

Dont worry about your investment property being close to the gym. You wont be there too long and you will probably be so busy updating the house that you will a/ not get as much time for going to the gym as you would like but b/ not need to go so often because you will be doing hard physical work sorting out the house. The main thing as I am sure you well know is to get a house where the numbers add up so that you make lots of profit that can be ploughed into the next one.

I dont blame your hubby for being miffed at having to work tomorrow. My hubby was appalled at the notion of you all having to work tomorrow.

If the weather is improving you will be able to start going for a walk which I am sure that you would enjoy. It is difficult for you not being in control of your exercuse options (gym closed at weekends, room with bike being used by other family members etc). I just need to wrap up warm, choose which shoes to wear and go out the door.

Take care
Love
Margaret

You said it--there's no perfect house, and so many buyers have trouble realizing it. And they all want more than they can afford..myself included. :D It doesn't matter the price range. If they can only afford $100k they want a $200K house. If they can afford $500k they want a $1million house..lmao.

Happy Easter.

The gym being so close was just an extra bonus...lol. But that house was huge--6 bedrooms, 2500sqft, plus a double lot and 2-stall garage. But there's just no way I could afford it. I am on to other houses..lol

LOL@your H being appalled! H appreciates your sympathy, and called us Americans "bloody heathens" for not making Easter Monday a holiday. LMAO Don't feel too sorry for him, though, as he gets from Apr 4th-13th off, and mid-June to late Aug off work. He also gets lots of other days and half days throughout the school year along with 2 weeks off at Christmas. Most of it is without pay, though. :(

The weather today is sunny again and around freezing, so I will probably end up going for a walk shortly.

My calories yesterday were 2,813. When my client and I stopped at McDonald's to go over and sign the paperwork, I got something to drink to have something while I was in their establishment..lol. The buyer didn't want anything. So I was going to get a diet coke, but then saw the Shamrock Shakes that are only around for a limited time during St. Paddies Day. And I love those things, and they haven't had them for years. Soooooooo....I got one. I just found out that the small one I ate has 530 calories!!!!!!!!!! :svengo: My calories would've only been just under 2300 had I gotten the diet coke instead. oh well--it was yummy.

Now on to Easter Dinner...:smilielol5:

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

Ohhhhh those Shamrock shakes are soooooooooooo good!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I've had one in ages.....I never remember to go there and get some around St. Patty's day!

Kimmy!! You're a woman after my own heart!! Shamrock shakes are definitely a MUST HAVE for me around this time of the year. Before I desired to lose a significant amount of weight, my mother sister and I use to get at least two a week for the whole month. I'm not talking small or regular either, I'm talking the big HUGE ones that overload you with sweetness. This year, I just found out a large has somewhere around 1,100 cals in it. I was flabergasted actually. I knew it's caloric intake was rather high, but I would have never guessed it at such a range. I was a good girl this year and only treated to myself to one small one. I even alloted it into my cals for the day. I cherished it, let me tell you. I knew I wouldn't have another one for a whole nother year.

Congrats as well on finding a house you like. I can understand how tricky it is to actually find something you can realistically see yourself living comfortably in for a good price. Now a days it seems all of the cheaper houses are HUGE fixer uppers. That's apparent by the 60k renovations the house you mentioned would have to have. But you know what, it's by your gym, and if you had to get an expensive house, I'd say it's worth it because of that fact alone. I mean, think about it, you can spend ALOT of money on a house, but in the end, you'll be twice as rich in your health. How does that sound? Hey, I was trying to justify an overexpenditure. LOL.

Happy Easter, chica. I hope you and the Hubby are having a darn good one. You even get an excuse to exclaim you two are going to make like bunnies today...if you know what I'm saying...;)

Exercise this week:
3/17—30 min circuit training, weight: 222, calories: 1,909
3/18—None, weight: 222, calories: 1,346
3/19—60 min walk, 4 miles, weight: 220.5, calories: 1,785
3/20—30 min exercise bike, 10.18 miles, weight: 220.5, calories: 1,410
3/21—None, weight: 220, calories: 3,366
3/22—None, weight: 223.5, calories: 2,813
3/23—100min walk, 6 miles, weight: 222.5, calories: 2,805
Total for the week: 3hrs 40min, 10 miles walked, 10.18 miles biked

Happy Easter! (As an added bonus, you can hump like bunnies after dinner!)

Ha! There will be no humping for awhile. :reddevil: showed up last night. :ack2: H and I were both horndogs today, so it totally sucked. I think H told me at least 5 times today how much he wanted to "give me the business." :D

I have figured out the whole ovulation thing, thanks to Margaret's excellent link. If I want to have a baby born in the year of the rat like H, my dad and gran and I were, I have to get knocked up by early May at the very latest...lmao. I have figured out that my next fertile period takes place in early April during H's Spring Break. So, we are going to go on a little romantic long weekend getaway. Where we're getting away to, we haven't figured out yet..:D

Priti and Rae--I'm glad to know I'm not the only one to indulge in Shamrock Shakes...lmao. I mean, how can they be so calorie laden? the small strawberry shakes only have 420 calories..lol. Maybe they're smaller. I guess it's a good thing they're seasonal.

Rae--that house near my gym is off the list. There's just no way we can afford to make all those repairs. Besides that, it's much more room than we need atm. 1500 sqft will more than do the trick. That one had 2500sqft. We will find something a bit smaller that needs much less work. ;)

After eating a pretty unhealthy meal at Easter dinner (Big Boy's Philly stuffed potato pancakes plus a few onion rings and a mozzarella stick), I came home and went for an hour and 40 min, 6 mile walk. Calories were 2805 today. I must behave myself the next 4 days. :angelsad2: I have 4 days to do 3hr20min of exercise for the challenge.

Hi Kimberly

Well done for getting that walk in. I always find that walking is a great time for thinking and formulating plans. It certainly sounds like you have been doing a fair bit of planning too.

Dont be disappointed if you dont get knocked up in time for the year of the rat deadline. It is a nice idea - but these things are often not as easy to schedule as all that. We all knew plenty of girls that seemed to get knocked up without even trying (and a fair few that didnt let their partners know that they were trying) - but it seems to happen less especially as you get out of your early twenties.

When I worked in Newcastle I used to work with a lad called Tony. He was a year younger than his wife - but they happened to have the same birthday. It was so cute - they used to phone each other and decide who was going to bring home the birthday cake. Anyway - their first child was expected during the week of their birthday. He was convinced that it was going to pop out on schedule. He ever started trying to shock her into labour the evening before. Anyway - it didnt happen and the kid was born two days later. Sometimes these things just dont go to schedule.

Romantic getaways are definitely a good idea. It doesnt really matter where - I would think that anywhere would be an improvement on the house where your parents are.

It is funny about your hubby using the term heathens - my hubby used the same term.

Take care
Love
Margaret
