No YOU ROCK 9 to 10 lbs sweeeeet. I know steve is the expert but I could not imagine working out when I was sick at all. Of course that is prob part of why I have this girlish figure I am sporting currently

Keep up the good work your doing great

yea, I conquer thee my enemy "Scale!"

Hello women and men! lol

I have lost to 290 .. pounds .. I think...
I am waiting till the scale shouts to me for sure!
but that tis what it says ..says I am jumping between 290- 292 pounds ..so I am finally flirting with the plateau ..instead of sitting my ass down on it and refusing to move

Today, Today was a harsh walk .. was really walking fast .. I mean really fast!
And I ended up doing about 35 minutes, actually exactly 35 minutes ... :)
I know its not an hour, but I burned 309 calories today doing my walk and I have eaten so far 2757 calories. And I plan to just eat a grilled cheese sandwich for supper, because I am trying to cut and probably have a two little six oz cups of no sugar jello for dessert before bed.

I didn't eat last night! I did not get up in the middle of the night and eat. I haven't been ...

good stuff!
Tomorrow I shall walk longer, supposed to be eighty one degrees, going to go before the kids get home!

yea for me!
I feel so good!
I wasn't even going to go for a walk, but I took one step outside and realized I would be missing out .. I felt awful walking.. I was in a really hot bike shirt ...but I am wearing a tank top tomorrow and going before the kids get home ...

Hello girls and guys,
I deleted my other entry, because I know it would be offensive to others ..sorry girls and guys ...
Anyway so back to weight..
I am trying to get to my first goal weight: 250 Date: May 1, 08
Next Goal: 220
Next Goal: 200
Next Goal: 190
Next Goal: 175
Next Goal: 160-165 pounds

I have a long road ahead of me.

and What I have on my ticker reflects my first goal. In Forty three pounds or less I will be 250 pounds. This is really a close one for me.

Today I weighed in at 289.8 this morning
Usually my scale is lower than everyone elses, like the doctors

So the actual weight in was: 291-292.8 pounds.

I will have to wait to see how the chips fall by the end of the week.

I plan to weigh in when I please, as long as it keeps me trecking.

Tomorrow is a big day for me. I need to read three chapters, walk for an hour at a fast and hard pace, and I have to clean.

Tomorrow we are shopping for jeans!! I think, Which will be a plus to my day!

ttylater folks

ps ..my bf thinks his roomie is cute! The girl, Danielle!
Well I have news "Move over sista, because here come Natalie!"

lol
I was telling him how much I miss him ..in long winded terms.. if you get my drift and I told him how I loved him ...and he called me right after I jumped offline ..lmao ..hes quick ...quick for a hello! at this time of night ...ho hum .. I guess I finally got Mr. lovers attention ..

Anyway he says his roomie is hot, but he is not ineterested: #1: Has me! #2: She is a roommate, which is difficult to have a relationship in the same house with other people in the house! #3: I dont know ..lol

But anyway ... I told him I was going to beautify myself this weekend for me
and he said I could borrow a couple of his playboys for getting all gussied up ..to see what they do around their men and what not to please them and tempt them. .

YES I want to be the next hot tepmtress he has never seen before.

Forty pounds ago ..he would just out of the blue say "Your Hot!"
now he doesnt ... but I am losing weight and my sights are changing on what I really want out of this life ..and its to get good marks on my school reports and on my looks and health!

So heres to being HOT!:jump:
Cheers!!!! :jump:

Hi NatalieJo

Just looking into your diary (at the end because when I started at the beginning I had to go out for a walk - because your diary is so big - sorry).

You were kind enough to talk to me when I put an entry in the newcomers section the other day.

I am sorry that you have had some reflux problems - that is really horrible for you. I hope that it gets sorted soon.

You are so lucky being able to have a cheese sandwich. I am so jealous. I love them but ended up having to remove them entirely from my diet. When I started weighing myself every day I noticed that on some days I was totally saintly - walked miles - ate really good stuff etc. - but if I had a slice of bread, no butter and a dairylea cheese slice (i.e. a pre-measured and wrapped thin little slice of cheese you can buy packs of here) I put on two pounds that day. There was no external reason for it - e.g. periods etc - and it happened several times. There was no logic to it - and it kind of made no sense with all that is spoken of to do with calories eaten vs burned - but it is what happened. I mention because I know that you are PCOS like me - so it might be worth you looking out for funny foods.

It sounds like you have a weekend planned fully worthy of looking forward to.

Enjoy!!!

Take care and have fun
Best wishes

Thanks hun
What a great, huge weight loss you have had! Congrats hun!
(cheers!)**

Anyway, I know cheese is not exactly what I should be eating and I have learned that the hard way ..its more like Saturated fat is too high..

So I bought some pita chips ... today ... bought my bf some junk food for this weekend. He can eat anything, because he bikes to work and back ..bikes to the grocery store... carries back on the bike eighty dollars worth of groceries ..he bike it all off ..lol

but anyway ...
I am cutting back on the cheese.. hopefully will eat one or two slices of Swiss a day, because I like them in my sandwiches.. it fills me up..so I won't eat a lot ... I take in about two or three pieces of deli meat ..thin and trim ...
I take in yogurt.. trying to put it down to one a day
and I have sugar free jello ..3.5 oz cups ... which is good for the fillers during the day ..no calories ...no fat ... they don't fill me up much ..but so far only at two ..usually eat four by now ..good stuff ... haven't made any extra eating ... haven't eaten lunch today, but in the next hour probably should do so

Have Salmon tonight with veggies .. not eating the potato ..its white and is processed ..loaded with trans fats .. I don't understand why she buys it ..its easy ..she works twelve hours day .. I think thats why ..

but anyway Thanks for stopping in...
Do you have a diary up yet ..will have to check on your diary

best wishes

So girls and guys..
I went out for an hour walk today, fast as hell. It was like I was being chased by an ax-murderer and I need to run away ...was virtually running! lol I was moving crazy like ..lifting my whole leg up ... to my upper thigh ..it really worked my leg muscles.. half way through the work out .. I was worn out and had to slow down ..but my pulse and beats were not en sinc with my body ..so it sucked .. I didn't know what to do ..and I had a slow song ..so tried to relax .. I was working good ..so I slowed down ..and walked a little faster than I usually do ..but not as fast as I was through the first part of my walk ... the next half hour of my walk was me walking average speed .. I had to go up a huge ..mammoth hill ..my shorts kept hiking up .. I hate when that happens ..but I caught up with a walker in front of me ...

but my sugar was 159 mg/dL afterwards, when I got home. Should have been down to 95...

so the gatorade is going to have to be half gatorade and half water ...so I won't be taking in as much sugar ..it was a sixteen oz bottle ... a poland spring bottle ...

well worked hard
less caloric intake ...yessa!

and Sheryl if you read my offensive post yesterday.. I am sorry hun .. Hope you continue write in my diary .. I love your support and your suggestions ... you are so wise ... :hug2:

I never read the sticky threads when I started in June ...so I finally got around to the sticky threads and I have a few questions for Steve..
Which thread can I put my question in hun? or my questions?

but anyway ..must run ..must go to fitday.com :jump:
found out, my marching/walking = 485 deficit in calories!
and I am taking in less fat, saturated fat, etc. Less calories. Less carbs. Doing good ladies, and men!

Hi

I am replying in your diary to make sure that you get it.

You are doing really well to be doing 4 miles a day.

The biggest secret to the weight that I have lost since February when I started is the walking. Just keep pushing yourself to go a little bit further.

At the start I really thought that I had done brilliantly if I got out and did half a mile. I just built it up adding a bit of distance every week or two. Or add steps some other way. Sometimes I play some music and dance around the living room and that is good exercise too and seems to have an effect.

I presume that you already have a pedometer. I didnt have one at first - I just measured a route in the car. The pedometer is the best thing that I have bought in ages. It challenges me to add a few more steps - and they all build up and make you feel good - that you are really doing something constructive and deserve to succeed.

I wear my pedometer from when I get dressed in the morning until I go to bed. If you are going to see how far you have walked in a day - you may as well consider all your steps and not just those from when you were doing a walk as exercise.

It counts as the same to me whether I plod along slowly or try to go fast. In fact I found that I speeded up quite naturally.

I actually have weight watchers books from 11 years ago that say that walking if it is not done fast is no use. Dont believe a word of it. It got me down to here.

If I think of anything to do with PCOS specifically I will let you know.

One thing though - be sure to get lasered while you are young. Don't put it off.

Laser doesnt work very well at all on white or grey hairs. I have had loads of laser treatments for my face (after the best part of twenty years of electrolysis - and when I started that I had to have it zapped twice a week - such fun!!!!) I have had sets of laser treatments in two separate clinics. The latest one has now suggested that I try elsewhere for future treatments because they know that their equipment will never touch the white hairs that I have - even though it kind of works after a fashion on the dark ones. It is a real nuisance.

Apparently some places have machines that claim to sometimes work on white hairs - but the vast majority dont.

Anyway - take care.

I thought about doing electrlosys ... I def will look into it ... can I do it on my own .. I think there are machines I can use on my own ... I grow a lot of hair in one day on my chin and neck. Its horrible! I hate it so much! Which I am sure you understand and the more I shave the more hair I get and the more the hair is harder. But I will look into that... will it possibly make the hair not grow anymore after a period of time, because my doctor told me the chances of the hair growth stopping when you lose the weight is almost nill ..might lessen ..but I am pretty much stuck they say ..

So what is your opinion there?
and how much does the laser method cost, if you go to a professional?

hmm I should probably look at this myself, probably a dermatologist would be best ..its the only thing I can think ..but I am pretty sure they have little machines you can buy for yourself to do it ... maybe I will look into that ..yea .. I will ..if it will almost eliminate the hair ..that would be so wonderful .. I also get hair on my lower abdomen ..my bf said it is very unattractive .. I hate that too!! I hope I haven't said too much, but I am sure you know what I am talking about ..
well ttylater Omega...

Hi

Well done for having another excellent day.

A general bit of advice (nothing to do with the PCOS thing) is to really believe that it is possible. I understand that a lot of people percieve that they have a problem when they 30 or 40 pounds to lose - and it is wonderful for them if they can address that and feel good about themselves. But I think that they can always see that the end is in sight and is possible. I found that I had got so big that I stopped believing that it was possible. They struggle to walk uphill and we have a mountain to climb. My husband has only last week started coming for a little walk with me in the evening. I am so delighted. He has to suggest it - or he would think that I was nagging him - and I do truly love him whatever size he is. He weighed himself yesterday and he was down to 355 pounds. It is all little steps and one day at a time.

About every other day I look at the before and after pictures of Charlie Walduck and that ALWAYS makes me believe. He went from 616 pounds to 196 pounds and now he runs marathons.

My advice is not to bother with electrolysis at all. I tried the little machines that you use for yourself and they did no good - just seemed to make things worse not better.

Professional electrolysis is not your best way forward in my opinion either. You have to remember that laser was not available 20 years ago. It is so much better for you youngsters.

Electrolysis didnt seem to solve the problem permanently and never would. It just go so that you didnt need it quite as often. At the start I needed it twice a week. After about 6 months it got to once a week. It was like that for years. After quite a few years it got to every 2 weeks - and after over 15 years got to every 3 weeks. Straight away I could leave 2 months between laser sessions and it did reduce things noticeably.

Frankly - whatever you have done - it is likely to hurt a bit. But hey - no worse than going to the dentist.

I do have to say that the lasering I had in Greece (I lived there for a while) didnt hurt at all. The machine blasted cold hair at the same time and place as the heat hit so you didnt feel anything uncomfortable. It is just a bit far to go.

Laser is definitely the way to go. It lasts much longer and does seem to get rid of some of it permanently - even for someone with my (quite severe) natural levels. At your age they may well be able to sort you out so that after a course you only need go along once in a blue moon. It would be so liberating for you if you could sort out your hairiness once and for all.

As for the price. My last session cost £90 and it did both the upper lip and chin. Prices do vary from place to place and country to country. I would check things out locally though - phone them up or surf the internet. I know that I can get it done cheaper in Greece (here there are laser clinics - in Greece you go to a dermatologist).

They say that you are best off with a course of 6 sessions and quite a lot of places here do 6 sessions for the price of 5.

As for the non-facial aspects - you are not alone. It is just that people do not talk about it much. When I was younger I have seen me have electrolysis on my upper chest (i.e. near the low-cut neckline), breasts and the backs of my shoulders before going on holiday because I was self-conscious about putting on a bathing costume - quite aside from being a big lady for wearing a bathing costume by anyone's standards.

And as for my tummy!!! All I can say is that I think that England can beat USA in that competition - lucky me!!!!

I keep promising myself extensive lasering as a reward if I can get down to goal weight (or anywhere near).

I hope that you have another good day.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Oh about the hair thing (i have this prob too). I saw a comercial the other day for a new rx cream. (Sorry I can't remember the name) If you go to the dermatologist maybe they will know something about it. I plan to ask my Dr. next time I'm in.

Well, have a great day.

WOW Margaret, thanks for taking all this time to tell me something that will probably help me. I will look into the lasering... I will start with looking for a dermatologist. Thats the only thing I can think for now and I will ask them where I can have the procedure done and learn more about it ..price ..etc ..
thanks so much!
I shall have to do this .. I am so tired of this long standing fight with extra hair .. sometimes I feel like the bierded lady ..its just fuzz when I shave it ..it can grow extensively ..but I shave every morning in the shower

Just a tip, but if you are eating 4 sugar free jellos a day, you should just buy the boxes and then mix it up yourself. You will save a ton in the long run!

Hi, Natalie Jo!

I'm pleased to see you've started lovin' on yourself since I've been away. I think it's awesome that you went out and bought yourself some lingerie; ypu deserve it.

Way to go with the recent pounds lost too!

I know how it is to have lots of reading to do! I'm teaching three different novels/texts at the moment. Now, I read all three books over the summer, but I read the same pages the students read and am ready for discussion when they have to be ready for discussion. In fact, this is part of the reason I've not been around lately. I've been spending my evenings reading, responding to discussion questions (the same ones my students must do) and writing down new questions I have about the reading. In other words, on top of everything else I have to do to keep my life straight and my boyfriend's life straight, and in addition to the regular work I have to do for teaching, I'm now having to keep up with quite a bit of reading. Gah!

What do you study?

Take care,

Tamara

I know Ambalove, but it is so much easier just buying the big package of aspartame jello lol ...

I am not eating it as much ... only maybe once a day ..maybe not even that ..trying to savor it ...

did have two yogurts today ..didnt eat lunch so I was hungry and its a bit late to eat lunch, so decided to eat something small ...

anyway thanks for the advice anyway

The only problem was that my bf didn't seem pleased with the measures I took to beautiful myself up ... not that I am really beautiful ...because I can be very honest with myself ... I am ...pretty ... but not really .. I am trully ok ...but when I lose more weight I will move towards my goal even more... hopefully in forty two more pounds I will be hot! lol

I know I will be and much more healthier ...

anyway what are you reading? What grade are you teaching?

I am taking microeconomics this term and will be taking soc and Macroeconomics next term as well ..total ninc classes by the end of June...

So anyway I am studying English literature and I am going to master in library science ..where I plan to be a public librarian or University or college librarian ...should be enjoyable ... the work is hard ...but worth it :)
