Oh shit! That sucks about your back. You better take it easy on the weights and aerobics. If your back isn't feeling any better in a day or two, definitely go see a health professional. Poor NatJo!
You are doing well with the exercise. Walking is always excellent exercise as long as it gets your heart rate up, so don't ever let anyone tell you any differently. Some people are of the mindset that exercise has to be about cardio machines, workout videos and weight lifting. But walking is wonderful! It's great that you're keeping in mind that the calories need to come down along with the exercise going up. Cutting back by 600 cals sounds like a good idea. It's a lot of calories, but not too much.

Thanks hun for stopping in.. I am keeping an eye on my back ...
it hurts like ..ugh ..you don't want to know ..the nerves are pinching from my back to my sides ..the whole back hurts ..all of it!
but walking won't be the problem ..maybe .. I know my back muscles are used in walking ..because I make sure to stand up straight and like you girls tell me ..."dont look down" So I am looking up and it is actually strengthening my back! which I am totally stoked .. I am going for six miles tomorrow ... which will be good ..will take me about two hours to two and a half hours ..we will see ...depending on the back and how fast I can move with my back the way it is ...

we will see if it clears up, if it doesnt I will take it easy and not be so excited over doing aerobics ..and maybe I will do it for a longer period of time, but less movement ..so I dont run out of breath right away lol

So its sunny out ... and its not thundering ...but we are supposed to def have some by three pm and that it will be scattered thunderstorms today and they are supposed to be severe


do I ..take a chance and go out and walk for a lengthy period of time? there will be hail

should I do aerobics, but in a low impact sort, instead of jamming the hell out of my back, for an hour?

Ha-ha sounds like you are getting a lot of what I have weather wise, well minus the hail. But yeah I get home from work and sometimes it appears as though the weather is beckoning me to try my run. So far the weather and I are on good terms it seems to hold up for me.

I would say go for it but really if there is going to be hail and not the wussy seattle slushy hail then perhaps its not such a good idea last thing I want to hear is that you went for it and got blasted by some hail the size of my fist!

Oh and your back definatly be careful with it! I threw mine out in a game of roller hockey and was laid up for 3 months and my back didn't feel fully healthy for 6 its not something to mess with. if you have pain stop let it recover and I agree if you still have pain and it started a few days ago I would go see someone its not something you want to deal with TRUST ME!!!
 
I will have eaten 3530 today in calories by the time dinner is done ..

What did you decide to do about exercise today? I hope you didn't go out and risk getting caught in the hail. Keep us updated on the back situation.

Yea.. I actually write a lot! of poetry. I am on allpoetry.com ...
but I ate too much today, but I just got out of the depressed feeling I had for it, because I figured something out .. I have been taking too much lemon in ... and I am having a ton of acid reflux and I eat and eat to make the acid go away ..its like automatic ..and I think my body is so used to eating too much that it wants that much food ..and I have been trying to curb how much I eat and what I eat and I dont crave the food ..but I eat it because of the acid in my mouth and down my esophagus ..wierd huh

Well I didn't do anything Sunny... its stank ...
I was depressed and just let it control me today .. I was all blue ..and it sucked .. I am having acid in my esophagus right now ...

if you read the above reply or my diary entry ..youll know what I am talking about ...but my mom is getting zantac ..so we will see if that will work ..

Guess was .."acid reflux" the more I eat, the more my body wants. I don't give that to my body, the acid starts building in my tummy, than it goes up my eshophagus, coming into my throat ..than into my mouth where it is now.. and Just ate some triscuits ..which have zero sugar ..but a few moments ago .. I put the huge cracker in my mouth ..its all grain ...but it just soaked up all the acid and I swallowed ..and all was fine ..but now I have acid in my saliva again. I need to get the acid reflux or acid build up from eating too much and trying not to eat now, under control .. I tried so hard today not to eat ..I tried drinking water (which made my problem worse, because I had a citric acid lemon in it) hmm... no more lemons for a while!

but my mom is picking me up on the way home ...zantac ..full strength ...so that my lasses and lads ..is what I am doing ..this happened before ..and I started taking zantac to stop night time eating and it worked ...because I would get acid at night, because I was used to eating at night ...

but now .. I am getting acid during the day ..everytime I am not eating ...which is all the time ...

so ..zantac is my answer to this problem ..and when it gets under control ..no more antacid .. only once in a while ... but I have had this problem before ...like two or three years ago ..right when I was trying to go down to 250 ..and I made it to 250 being on the South Beach diet ...
but now .. I am bigger and not happy whatsoever ... I always stop and I always start by eating at night and so it goes on ..
now I am off all depression and manic meds I could possibly be on that could make me gain weight
now I have a chance to get the weight down and keep it there .. I just need to take my meds that I do have and exercise and now take zantac and stop with the lemon ... oy vey

I really got myself in deep ..can't wait till mom comes home with those antacids .. I am going to try rinsing my mouth out with regular water .something to get rid of this acid ..anything :eek:

It hailed in your area? I have always found hail both mesmerizing or magical and frightening.

What brings on this acid reflux? Is it specific foods? I have never had that problem, but I have always had a really sensitive digestive system. Almost everything but whole, pure foods makes me gassy or bloated or just irritates the hell out of my tummy. I hate it. I don't know why I just shared that with you!

Yea... I get that too ..the bloating and gassy thing ..its stinks ..lol

but the antacid is no longer working ..ugh .. I am taking one more before bed ..after I brush my teeth .. I am going to take my meds and just go to bed and I am going to walk tomorrow for at least and hour ..its supposed to be cool tomorrow ..and I am going to get alot! of reading done ...not repeating today

870 calories, including what I am about to eat, already equated, two cups of grapes. Red Grapes! YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

and I burned with walking for forty minutes;)

I know I can do this!

((at first I wasnt going to go outside, because I was scared of what people might think of me and my weight. And one girl did oogle me and laugh, and she was with a "hot" guy in most women's terms. He was not hot in my terms. I like the skinny guys, with packing a little muscle who love cycling, the city and walking and man do I love Alex!~ lmao ))
but than I realized I wouldn't be able to ever walk if I kept up that attitude

so I put Jason Mraz in my portable cd player and I was off! yipee!!
I was so happy .. I even saw a girl ..and I passed her who was just as heavy as I was ..."I am not the only one!" You must be cracking up now, but all I see is these thin women lol So .. I dunno ... I am rather happy with myself

Hi well done on the food thing but doesnt sound like a lot but i dont work out cals way too confusing for me lol

Right-ie i thought the same about going running people will laugh at me trying to run and not be able to go far until a good friend pointed out apart from the odd stupid person everyone will be WOW well done for getting out there and mentally urge you on, evrytime i see some one im like you go for it or just totally jealous that i cant run that fast/far etc
So you ignore her and get her out of your mind and concentrate on how FAB you will be looking at Xmas will the lbs dropping off coz of how great your doing

Soryy if that was a bit of a rant but it really bugs me

Nice to hear you sounding like you're on the upswing again. It is so tiring to be depressed and in pain. I hope you find encouragement and support among your friends on this WL forum!

I'm sure you've already spoken with your doc about the reflux, but the medical professional (ok, slight stretch, so sue me! hee hee) in me insists that I suggest it, just in case! Reflux is nasty indeed, but you know that as you conquer this extra poundage, it will become less of a prob. for you.

OMgosh, I would be soooooo ticked if someone had the nerve to laugh at me while I was exercising! Let the anger fuel you to do more and more than you ever even thought possible. You are on your way to A WHOLE NEW LIFE, girlfriend. Things are just going to keep getting better! Will there be speedbumps along the way? Absolutely. So you drive over them and just keep right on going!!! You can do it, and I am so glad that you are.

The acid reflux was from the lemon and from eating too much... wierd huh, but true ..now I have to get used to water with out lemon ... and I need to use the zantac to stop the acid reflux ..as I lose weight the acid reflux with start to leave and eventually may even terminate .. I have heard this from many people, including my pcp ..primary care physician ...

Well I took in about 3067 calories exactly today:jump:, according to fitday.com ...much less than what I have been eating! whoot whoot! five hundred less than the other times ..so I am starting to work it down ..trying very hard ..no acid reflux today and I took a forty minute walk today ..which worked off ..lemme check

353 calories burned!:jump:

So I worked off something today and ate a ton less and tomorrow will be eaven less eating and walking once again!

Yea I know hun, I can't stand when they laugh at me. I would try running, but I know this neighborhood all too well ..laughing with be a huge problem ..so I walk ..and its good ..I may pick up running once I lose forty six pounds ...than I will pick it up .. I have a lot of weight on my upper body ..so I am top heavy ...so I need to take it in strides .. I would probably hurt my knees if I ran..
