I know they say not to restrict treats, but to eat them in moderation. But sometimes, with us wacky insulin girls, we really need to cut them out a while to get our bodies out of a sugar crave cycle. I see you eating a lot of cookies, and it reminds me of how I used to eat M&M's ALL DAY, like 10 at a time (which is small), but about 30 times a day....that's a lot. You need to take care of you, babe. I'd nix ALL cookies for a bit and see if things turn around.

Amba, does lemon have sugar in it.. I am having lemon in my water ..
do you think thats ok?
I had pbj last night, but only had a little ...spread very thin ..and I guess one tablespoon has five sugars ...so I woke up this morning fine ..my body feels good ..my eyes feel good ..I feel good

I didnt eat cookies yesterday and have not eaten anything bad today ...

so far so good ...

I ate a sandwhich
Turkey with provelone cheese.
Seeded Rye bread

Bluberries for a snack, now that was yummy.

One vanilla yogurt, yoplait.

And I think thats it ..so far ..and its 11:46am ..so thats enough ..

I will be eating most likely again at four pm ... because it will be time for a snack ...

if I eat enough during the day .. I dont eat at night and am able to just drink water with lemon or skim milk ... its good

so my next snack will be pluots ... I bought a ton of them yesterday..

I have access to my money again ..so I bought a ton of fruit ...buying drinks and bought a couple lemons for my water ..small lemons ... etc ...

its all good

anyway .. I will ttylater amba ...

hey you! Just dropping in to check up on your progress. Good job with the smaller size top! WOOOT! As for lemon juice placed in water... look at it this way... it's much healthier than adding Kool Aid or any of that high sucrose crap. I do the same thing. However, I purchased a big bottle of that REAL LEMON stuff, so that it's easier and cost efficient. Don't forget to actually "eat eat" at dinner, little lady.... milk can only do so much, you know? Also... watch out for big glasses of milk. 1c of 1% milk has 12 grams of sugar. :eek2: My parents/ grandparents are/ were diabetic... so that's what their doctors are always telling them to watch out for. Anyways... I hope your weekend is going well for you, girly. I'll drop in soon... keep up the good work, NJ!

Milk, you are def right about, does have a lot of sugar.
I use skim milk... last night I was thinking of just drinking my lemon water, maybe thats what I will do next time, which will be tonight. It probably would be a better idea.

But anyway thanks for stopping in.. I will stop in at your diary soon, just been coming in and out this place ...

been trying to get outside ..my hike, unfortunately was cut short, because I remembered I had to pick up my meds at this place forty five minutes away from the hike ..and the store closed at 3:30pm on Saturdays and we were still on the mtn at 2:30 ...so we had to rush!

but I am going to use the weight bench tonight, because I haven't done that in a while ...going for a good bike ride tomorrow ...

(I read about it in your dairy) Thanks to you, I really liked what I saw and today my husband went and signed me up for a Black Card! Yipppyy! I just wanted to thank you for posting that in your diary. Hmmm... maybe we should become PlanetFitness Partners... keep one another accountable? haha Hmmm maybe even start a club... that would be something. about lemons

I have heard that lemons are very good for slimming. Even one of my colleagues at work was practinsing the following thing for slimming - drinking pure lemon juice every morning. First morning the juice of one lemon, second - 2 lemons and going like this till 12 lemons, then, 11, 10 lemons to 1 lemon at the last day. It is horrible thing but I have heard many times that it actually helps a lot. I have no proofs though.

I'm sorry your hike got cut short... but you got out there and that's what counts. When it gets a bit cooler in the fall we're planning on hiking some trailsin the white mountains... don't know which ones yet though!

Your eating has improved. I am so proud of you... you are working really hard.

lol its actually a 14/16 shirt, but 24 pants. lol I hate the pants size, the shirt size is awesome. But the pant size I have gone down one. I was at a 26, now I have to lose and keep losing ... to get down more pant size ...lol

the upperbody is doing ok ... I am walking and working on my stomach ...

My legs hurt yesterday when walking, but the hike should take care of all that ..

Haha, sorry. At one point I took size 26 jeans, and it was not fun at all !
You can do it, you're doing great. Just stay strong and remember what
you really want in life. Is it a healthy weight, or a stinkin' cookie ? :D

As far as sore body parts, I completely understand! haha, Im not used to
any exercise and I just recently started jumping rope in my room, and let me
tell you.. it gets the sweat flying, and my heart pumping! (Not to mention
my knees and ankles hurting) haha! I guess its better than nothing, isnt it?
Keep on going, walking and hiking are both great exercise! And your eating is improving !
Ill be stopping in more often to check up on you from now on, hehe. :] And thanks.. I like my ticker too. :hug2:

Lemon is fine, especially if it gets you to drink more water!! Lemons have fruit sugars, but that is a totally different sugar than in those sugar cookies!

Keep it up, looks like you are doing good today.

Lemons are awesome for vitamin c. However, you do have to realize they are nature's diuretics. In other words, you'll be pissing like a race horse after 1 lemon. HA! Also, remember... with the amount of urine passed, you have to replenish it so you won't get dehydrated so quickly. Just some piss tips from yours truly. HA!

Sorry not popped in for a while but i havent been on here for ages

Sounds like your getting back on track with the fruit etc
I have just been the shops after reading your diary and ambaloves post and stocked up on fruits to snack on grapes and strawberries mainly

Lemon in water is ment to be a good detox type thing they tell you to have hot water with a slice of lemon at the start of each day (weight watchers use this)
i think its good makes the water taste better for one!!!

Keep all this up and you'll see results in no time.

Lemon is great in water and there are lots of other things you can put in water to flavor it. I've done peach slices with mint, lemon and lime, strawberry halves, etc, all with iced water. They're all really yummy but I think my favorite is probably the peach and mint.

I know you really like those PBJs but can you make them without the J? Just a PB? That way you're getting all the benefits of peanut butter but none of the sugars of the jelly. Sometimes I do that as a pick-me-up for energy and its a nice healthy treat (in moderation).

Jenna, Thanks! I am going for a walk today, probably thirty minute walk and than later I hope to go bike riding. Its absolutely beautiful out there!!! its really warm outside, its so cold in the house! I am sneezing up a storm!

Yes I was wondering about the lemon, obviously when I do my sugar fast I wont be able to have lemon in my water that night. I did not stave off the craving last night, but I did not have the cookies. I had pbj and it was only a little jam ... about 10 sugars, which is actually an improvement for me. I can't drink the milk at night ...it doesnt sit well with the system... sucks ...

Yea.. Sunny .. I think I want to cut the pbj out all together, but my eyes don't seem to be giving me trouble like usual when taking in too much sugar. I was very slow to load up with the jam ... I put small amounts and practiced portion control ...

Hey everyone,

So today there was not any cold cuts or anything really to eat for sandwiches ..so I ate a pbj ...but I took a walk today of thirty minutes and plan to go for a bike ride or another walk later today ... I find it really fun walking around the city ..especially around five pm ..it is so much fun ..during the evening when the sun is going down and its beautiful outside ...and the beas are asleep ..so they don't take note of you lemon water in your walking bottle ..lmao
always nice!

I did enjoy the sunshine today and will enjoy it tomorrow ...but I have to get on the bike .. I went for a fifteen mile bike ride Sunday ..it was wild ... it was so much fun ..the hills were enormous ..but thats the best ...having to work up those hills and than fly down them ...lol so much fun! :jump:

But next week I am doing another fifteen mile bike ride, but harder on Sunday ..and I have to train this week big time for it ...so that means a lot of bike riding on the difficult and winding roads in South to North Berwick and the last time I went this route I ended up in the ditch and tangled in my bike last week ..lol

Thank you all for writing in my diary ..it means so much to me! You all inspire me to do my best and reach my goals ... thanks! :hug2:

Anyway I have eaten pretty good today ..the only other thing that I had today other than the pbj was a lemon cucumber .. I know ..lemons everywhere ...if anyone can try a lemon cuc I suggest it whole hearedly .. :)

anyway . I think I am going to have two pluots now ..if anything I should snack on ..its fruit ..good fiber ..good food! lol

Have you ever had pluots and peanut butter together? I haven't, but I bet you can use pluot slices instead of jam/jelly since they're sweet with that ever so slight bit of tart flavor.

Banana and peanut butter is still a good one and if you have grapes in the house, you can eat those while you're eating a peanut butter sandwich.

Are you using fitday.com or anything like that?
