Have you ever had pluots and peanut butter together? I haven't, but I bet you can use pluot slices instead of jam/jelly since they're sweet with that ever so slight bit of tart flavor.

Banana and peanut butter is still a good one and if you have grapes in the house, you can eat those while you're eating a peanut butter sandwich.

Are you using fitday.com or anything like that?

anyway ..my mom she is going to make jam for me ...with only a little sugar, but mostly the fruit sugar will be what I am eating ..sounds good to me! lol

Ahhh see, I don't know what fruits are too much sugar and which ones aren't. I don't eat much in the way of fruit at all. I know its not the greatest sounding, but if you gave up PBJs for something like a bowl of broccoli with a glass of milk, you'd be eating far less calories and feeling just as full.

Broccoli is a bad example but its all I could think of. :rotflmao:

I'm glad your mom will make some jams. Thats much better than the store bought ones.

I eat fruit .. I ate blueberries a couple nights ago for my midnight snack.. I just can't eat too much fruit ..but its better than what I have been eating ..

Tonight for dinner .. I had a hamburger with prov cheese on it ... no bread ...but that was bad enough ...

I guess I will finish it off with a pluot at the end of the night before bed ...

I think that is a mighty fine idea... :)

Ok..so I checked the scale today folks, down another pound..

I am down to 293.6
and I had gained up to 298. something ..

but anyway .. So I have lost weight.. one pound in the past two days ..wowser .. :jump:

going for another walk today, try to make my tummy smaller and going for a bike ride hopefully later... def want to be productive ..

My mother is no where to be found and I had wanted to go to the grocery store and pick up some fruit ..so this sucks ...strawberries ...blueberries ...etc ...

oh well I will figure out what to do ..:rolleyes:

Congrats on another pound down! Stay away from the sugar cookies and you'll be doing just fine. It sounds like just about everything else you eat is right on par with a good calorie controlled diet.

Its really useful.

Now remember, everything you eat and drink you put in there. If you're not sure about portions you're eating, you can also use which has tons of information including whether or not foods you're eating are based mostly in sugars. Its kinda nice. You should really check out that site with some of your favorite foods and see what info you find. I think that site even gives you a grade on each food for weight loss, weight gain, and healthy lifestyle.

On tricky things, I use a kitchen scale to figure out what I'm eating by oz or grams and then look it up that way. Since it sounds like your mom cooks a lot, I'm sure she has a kitchen scale around.

Hey gals and guys,
Well today will be a good day, since I know about fitday.com.

I am going to have one cup of cheerios with one cup of skim milk...

snacks will be pluots and grapes

dinner.. no clue...


but I am happy.
I am on top of it again and happy!

I plan to take a thirty to forty minute walk today and I will be stocking and pulling out heavy boxes for my mom at her work. Lots of stocking, which means lots of lifting. :)

So I will be getting some good exercise today!

Anyway things seem to be well, I am with Alex again. We go bike riding on the weekends. We aren't going this weekend, because of the rain and thunderstorms on both days. We plan to watch movies. So I have been trying to get exercise in for the past few days.

Yesterday I walked twenty minutes, and than later eighteen minutes. So a total of about thirty eight minutes ... a little more than usual. Trying to build it up ..

next week I am going to go down some back country roads, which happen to be thirty minutes away and walk a total of an hour or two .. I will report about it when I do it!

a kitchen scale is really handy... so you can precisely know how much you are eating of something - since some things are tough to measure in a measuring cup... you can get one faitly inexpensively at Target or other stores...

I do as much as I can by kitchen scale now. NutritionData.com has most things listed in different portions and one is 100 grams. Thats an easy one to use when I want to figure out the calories of something thats 33 grams or 65 grams. I like easy math and I love my kitchen scale!

Hey Nat,

Just checking up on you, I couldn't recognize you in your new picture!! I thought it was a new member posting on your thread until I noticed the signature at the bottom!!

Anyways, glad you're all positive about this, and that you are doing some exercise and some lifting (woohoo!)- manual labour can be fun sometimes, eh? I know I had fun shoveling and carrying dirt a few months back- what a work out!

I am glad you are plugging along at it, Natalie. I know self-control is hard (verging on being a dirty word!)...but it really is the only way. That's what I keep telling myself anyway...
 
The Truth!

I took in three thousand calories today, or around that. I am not disappointed in myself, nor ashamed. I am proud I took Sunny's advice on fitday.com and did it completely out and was honest with the server.

I have planned what I am eating tomorrow. I know how much dairy I can take in ..I have been and am getting educated in what I should and shouldnt be eating.

I need to burn calories. We have a stationary bike. Going to use it for an hour tomorrow with a fan on me and music blasting. And I plan on doing aerobics with tummy tucks and what not for thirty minutes. And floor excersizes for tightening the but and hips and waist and legs. And I am going to pound my feet into the ground with this aerobics and really sweat sugar and calories off tomorrow
After seeing what I have done to myself all this time.

Its time to take charge of what is going into the body and what is being burned. Time to move and grove to the diet in my "life change"

What a great post! I'm glad you were honest with yourself about your calories. And you're right not to be ashamed. Shame makes you hide from the truth. Instead, you're doing the right thing by facing the truth and using that truth to make better choices about what and how much you eat. Excellent, NatalieJo!!
 
Woohooo! Way to go, NJ. Yah those websites, fitday and sparpeople, are awesome! I'm at SP and lurve it! Prior to all of this, I was pretty much in the dark as to how many calories (fats, carbs, proteins) I should consume in a day with the amount of exercise I do. Good luck to you, girl. :hug2:

So I am up to 1921 calories so far today. Bad!
Not going to let it go near 3000 ..lemme just tell you!

I will have a small burger with oatmeal bread as my bread...
its 58 calories for two slices of oatmeal bread.

and I am also going to have two pieces of fruit before bed
or a yoplait yogurt... just one ...

so I am trying to pear it down ..even the fruit has so much calories ...wowser!

so anyway ... I will probably go a bit higher than what I am at now, but not much. And than that will be it ...
