You did a very brave and strong thing for yourself. Sometimes it is very hard to realize others have control over you and then take control over for yourself. You deserve the utmost respect from anyone who wants to be in your life. Its awesome that you have decided to have you time for you. You obviously have a large amount of wonderful things going for you in your life and you should never let anyone or anything hold you back from them. By taking time for yourself not only will you discover more wonderful things about yourself, your strength and confidence will continuously grow. Your amazing and inspiring :hug2:

Nat, this is coming from a girl that put up with an abusive, controlling and judgmental ex for a year and finally had the guts to call it quits: I'm proud of you! Because you took a stand for yourself, and you realized that you need to look out for number one i.e. YOU. You really DID NOT need the negative talk, and the lack of encouragement! I'm so glad you're going to focus on yourself and your happiness. You can do it. You're a strong person.

Doing good on the exercise front there girl! Keep it up!
 
Thanks Mal and Jenna for responding. I think I needed your response so I don't feel like I am talking to myself, even though .. a diary is where you are supposed to throw your thoughts to a wall...but this wall talks back ... :)

Anyway ..
I have been really good with my diet and am at the same weight as before... 295....
I have not done the depressive or bored eating that I usually would ...
I am sticking to my diet or my life change...

I went swimming today ... it topped close to 100 degrees today... we were in the lake around 3:30 pm and I did laps across from the entrance to the lake on the shore and outward. I swam underneath the water, trying to expand my lungs ..so I can hold my breath for longer. It was pretty smooth going through the clear water. My sister actually wore her bathing suit and came in, usually she just sits on the shore and reads. She has lost a lot of weight and is starting to feel better about herself. I was so proud of us, being at a lake surrounded by beautifully thin people and swimming like the rest..

we had ..SO MUCH FUN!!

It was absolutely beautiful. The house is warm, but I am going to use the weights for resistance. Work my legs and pectoral muscles and what not ...

Its great that your sticking to your life change. You will see results as long as you keep going. Good for you and your sister getting into the lake. I've thought about going to a public pool but I'm too ashamed of myself. I'm glad you had a lot of fun! Keep on going!

Another day...

Ok... so its 3:29 pm, its 87 degrees inside the house, which is cooler than outside. Not sure what I am going to do about exercise. I feel like I have wasted my day resting on the couch in front of the fan ...but I am achy and my body doesn't want to go out in that heat ... it is ...sooo ..very HOT out there....

I just want to take a dunk in a pool or the lake, or the ocean ..somewhere where I am surrounded and wrapped in cold water... drinking cold ice tea ..thats about it ...

weighed in at 295 today ..stuck ..no change ...went swimming yesterday, but its all I did, other than weight resistance, turned out to be hotter today than the other days ..not good ...

so I am vegging and hoping it cools off ...3:00-30 is the peak of the day here... around five or six pm it should start cooling off and I will be putting the fan back into the window ..

wish me all the best .. I shall update later whether I get up the gumption to do anything tonight

def doing something tomorrow ..including cleaning the guinea pigs cage and laundry ..tomorrow is supposed to be 74 degrees as a peak ... all weekend and one day 73... great day to make up for any days from staying inside away from the heat!:eek2:

It is horrifically hot outside! Hopfully the heat really goes away like its supposed to.

Maybe your body needs a rest today. You have been working really hard and your body may just need a day to relax and heal.

Hopfully it cools down a little later so you can swim alittle:)

Hi NatalieJo! It sounds like you've certainly made a committment to this lifestyle change. I haven't dropped in for a while, sorry about that. I'm sorry to hear that things weren't going well with the boyfriend. You are so strong and brave to take the reigns and decide to end that relationship. We tend to make ourselves feel bad enough... we don't need somebody else contributing to that. Good for you!

It was extremely difficult to take the split, but I did. I just couldn't take the insane treatment I was taking ... he was ..awful and is awful to women ... ugh ..

but anyway ...doing a bit better this evening. I am going walking tomorrow ...
tipped off the band wagon today ...ate one slice of bbq pizza ... half a think of onion rings ..two sandwiches .. and the rest was fruit ..but truly was not a good day for the diet... the body is not happy! ..So I am drinking tons of water now ..in sugar shock kind of ... my sugar was up to 171 ... not good at all ... it will be in the seventies for the rest of the weekend .. yea!!

Ahh ..nothing like some cool weather ..and Saturday I am going swimming again at the lake ..and before we leave I am going to take a walk ...so that I will have the maximum amount of exercise that day ...tomorrow is a new day ..tonight is a brand new evening ..no cheating now ..only H2O for me ...


and Jenna ..thanks for writing .. I needed some consults today .. not feeling as giood as usual per sey ...

I'm wishing you a fun, cheat-free day! Eating lots of sweet fruit like pineapple and strawberries really helps curb the sweet cravings. As well, when I'm craving something fatty or chocolatey, I sometimes eat a teaspoon of peanut butter and find that it helps. PB still has quite a bit of fat, but it's a great alternative to eating an entire chocolate bar or a handful of cookies.

I have now done a twenty five minute bike ride with my sister .. I really got out there today, unlike the past week. I am happy I am back on the bandwagon and went out today, if only for a little while, because once I start up I keep going for the most part. ... YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:jump:

I have come down to 294.8 pounds .. only two oz. below 295, but a start to a break in a plateau ..goody!!!!!!!!!!!

I am happy I have started to pick up the pace again. Carrying a canoe today and swimming in a lake hardcore. ..going to try to expand my lungs more...

Well today I am not going to the lake. It is 78 degrees or will be and the wind is just blowing everywhere. So I won't get an exercise going with my parents. so I am going to go for a long walk, one hour and speed walk, and sometimes slow it down. Do the speed walking in bursts. And if I am up to it later, take a twenty to thirty minute bike ride. My legs must be up to it however. I did really good yesterday with mixing it up. I never bike ride and walk in the same day. Each works on different muscle groups and different parts of your body ...

so I will try to do both in limited time frame today and I am planning to stay on this band wagon ...lol I love this .. I finally broke 295 ..

Congrats on breaking 295! Whooo! And good job with the walking and riding. It's such a great feeling to look back at the end of the day and know that you had a great workout.
 
Hey an ounce is an ounce! As long as you keep losing, it doesn't matter if you did it and ounce or a pound at a time!

Went canoing yesterday, but didn't use the paddles ...had to sit on the floor in them middle, because I set off the balance of gravity when I sat on the middle seat! lol I was upset at first ...but I realized I will be at a lower weight someday and its only a matter of time. So I enjoyed my trip. We saw some beautiful animals and birds. Some cute animals as well ... beautiful and wonderous ...

if was a lot of fun!

I am still amazed at the amount of exercise you are doing it really puts me to shame and i will go the gym on my way home tomorrow so thanks!!!

Just remember a loss is a loss no matter how small its when the scales start to go up is when you question things

As for the canoe its something new you have done so be proud of that and then in a few months time you will be sitting on that seat rowing away into the middle of lakes and thinking how am i going to get back because you have gone so far!!!

I have been considering using that ...because the other day when I was walking up the street ...one kid yelled "OMGod, look at her!"

Kids can be so cruel... chances are, they'll be in the same boat as the rest of us, one day. Wonder what they'll think of walking past the neighborhood kids then...

There's a woman in my neighborhood who walks with some frequency now. I see her a couple times a week. If I had to guess, I'd say she's around 330lbs, but I'm a terrible judge of weight. Every time I see her, it inspires me to walk more. I think "Wow... now thats a person who is changing her life. I want to have that kind of drive... that kind of motivation." I wouldn't be surprised if she out-walks me mile for mile every week. She's got what it takes to make the change in her life and she doesn't even seem to notice anyone around her while she's out there. I have a lot of respect for her.

My favorite mental occupation while walking is audio books. They seem to work better for me than music.

I know what you mean about people drinking lots and lots! I just can't! People recommend drinking 2L of water a day - I drink that, if not more when I exercise, - but if I don,t 2L is way to much for me and I spend my whole day in the loo. Maybe I have super efficient kidneys?!

You're doing lots of walking it seems :D well done
