Sound like you have made some huge changes in your lifestyle well done thats the hardest part for me.
Your bike rides sound fantastic with all the nature you see it certainly helps with the motivation!!!
Well keep doing what your doing and you will see the weight fall off but remember a little treat every now and again wont harm you as long as make note that you have eaten it and dont go over the top

Sugar! lol The Bane of existance for me!

Hello everyone,

Anyway I cheated last night and ate chinese food and payed greatly for it ... first my sugar level went up to 165 MG/dL

a half hour later I checked because I was severly depressed and moody...
190 MG/dL

AT the most your sugar is supposed to be during the day is
140 etc ...

And this morning after eating the rest of the chinese food
at nine thirty it was 182 etc...
I definately need to cut processed foods out and cut out take out ... oh yes!

I will eat a salad if we go to a restaurant, but I don't think anything else is unsugar like to eat...

I can't eat white pot, only sweet potato ...
and just a little

no candy, no ice cream. Ice cream raises it to 180 automatically. I cut Ice cream out a month or two ago. No candy, no more Godiva! oy vey ...

BUT I already had cut Godiva until last Thursday, where I ate four pieces of Godiva... that was fine ...

once in a blue moon is find for Godiva ..as long as its in the reigns ... like four pieces after two months .. I would think would be Okay...

I feel better now, because I took a metaformin, so no depression ..just peace and quiet ..except for the sound of mother on her treadmill! lmao

She is getting close to being prediabetic .. and she only weighs 211 ... ugh
I told her to watch it, because she doesn't want to be in my situation, so she is cutting some sugary items out of her diet ... which is very good ... :)

Now I need to do the cutting ..which I have already started to do ...the
take out is out .. I talked with my mother and sister and I told them .. I am making home cooked meals


tonight I am making broccoli and asparagus with chicken slightly put in bread crumbs.. they are lean pieces of chix and they are small pieces.. boneless ...

the best chicken you can eat actually ...
I make it quite frequently ...
its only of the best things for me to eat ..
steak is fine to eat ..
fish is even better
no white potato
but sweet potato ..a dopple ..or little more ... with my metaformin ..should make sure the night goes better than last nights wicked sugar shock ..lol
I have learned my lesson .. I can go into a sugar coma if I do any worse .. I went into sugar shock today ..but I took a metaformin and am taking water with ice ..so thats good ..for the rest of the day I will have only cold or iced water ...thats all I really drink ..
no white bread ..
I have this flax seed wheat bread .. no white bread ... it really works .. only a few carbs ..no sugar ...

I still weigh 297 ... two days straight in a row!:jump:
So I have twelve pounds to go than I reset my ticker, which I love my new one, for another fifteen pounds ... I am only doing it fifteen pounds at a time

and want to get down between 150- 160 pounds ..which is EXACTLY where I am supposed to be .. :)

Okay .. I could only get one pic up... the prior one ...

well anyway I have double the amount of hair .. my hair ..is just ...too long right now .. it looks really good and healthy, but it can be a real pain handling long hair ...my bf likes the long hair...thus I get a little shape in it ..usually cut off two inches ... but my bang is down below my chin ...and the rest is down my back ...but I have wavy hair ... my hair looked horrible in that pic ...but I don't care! lmao I just wanted a before pic up ... :) and I wanted you guys to see the face behind the diary ...so this is Natalie jo ...

Anyway my sugar is down to 112.. I haven't eaten all day, except drank water.. I am drinking diet pepsi ... because I rarely drink it ...maybe six ounces a day ...they say a little caffiene in your body is good ...and it is tasting refreshing and I don't feel so refreshed .. so thus a treat for myself, than tonight... back to ice water! :)

but I have a massive headache tonight ... :eek:

Well I am sure it will dissipate once I take some ibuprofen and go to bed later ..

Good morning!

I actually have lost to 296.0... :jump:

BUT .. you know how your weight fluctuates ...well... I decided in the challenges to just put ...297.0...that way .. I don't get discouraged by having to retype ...297.0 ...when I typed in 296.0 pounds...

Anyway .. I DID NOT EAT LAST NIGHT!
I ate a small bowl of cereal this morning ...and I ate a yogurt later...
I had dried, not to exciting, cheerios... even less calories than Honey nut Cheerios ... and skim milk

I am going to start drinking more milk and taking in calcium pills ...
Go me! :)

Anyway .. I am doing good today ...its sunny and beautiful ...definately worth a walk ...and bike ride ...
definately taking a bike ride today, because we are going for a 15 mile bike ride sunday... because its going to be 81 degrees....and he wants to go ... it will be fun! I really want to go swimming ...but we will see if I can coax him to take me to the lake ..

Patuckaway lake probably ...but he wants to bike ride to the beach now ..
so we are either going to Wallis Sands ..or Rye Beach ..
NO WAY would I go to Hampton ...wayyy too much traffic ...

Hello everyone,

Well I have been eating blackberries off and on today ... the package is all gone ..not like it was a big one ..but it was yummy!
I have strawberries in the fridge, apricots, peaches, apples, but I share my peaches with sniffles, my guinea pig ... I give him half ...
and he is the one who eats the apples.. I can't stand apples ... which is kind of ...idiotic..seeing as I am from apple country ..and maple syrup country ... New England ...

but .. I no like! lol

Right now I am waiting for my bf .. I have dinner ready just have to warm it up ..
its asparagus, white potato for him and Chix for both of us ..breaded in seasons ...
so pretty good

tomorrow I am going out to eat and I am having a grilled chicken ceaser salad ... might have a shared ice scream for Alex ..seeing as I haven't had any for a good two months ... maybe I shouldnt ... hmm ..no .. I wont

I will have a milk shake ..which won't trigger my cravings ..they never do .. I havent had anything like a milkshake or ice scream for two months ...but a milkshake is nothing to me, but a drink ...
I will just treat with that ... and take a metaformin before that ... which will increase the amount of insulin I have ..which will not trigger more diabetic problems .. I can't eat like normal people ..ugh

I have to have metaformin until I lose all my weight ...140 pounds ...
or so ..give and take ..that would make me about 156...
I think that will be good enough for me, just have to have alot of muscle ..enough to make it on thirty five mile bike rides and hike ..lol...
My goal is to take on Mt. Agmenticos ... part of it ... we are going to hike it on a cooler day ...
but ...part of a road we went on is apart of the mountain ..and life as such has it ...that the road is called Mtn Road ..and lemme me just say ..it is tripping crazy ... especially when your sugars are messed up ...thats when I need sugar ... those hot ... summer days ...riding for 23-27 miles up and down mammoth hills ...

oooo goody ...can't wait till I go on my bike road trip to Cape Naddeck .. however you spell it ..all I know ..it is SOOOO beautiful ..ahh .. its just refreshing ... :)
they have running races on the beach ... I have never been in the water ...but Alex has trolloped along in it before ... I didn't want to because I didn't want people to notice me and my weight ...
they always look so stunned when I am coming on my bike ..and I just smile ...because I know ... I am so damn good at riding my bike now ...lol and they are just ...their jaws drop ...

Road bikes honk at us on bike week ..they did that last year ...we went bike riding to Wallis sands I believe ..or was it Rye? dont know ...but they are only five miles from each other ... but it is awesome ... we have biked almost all along the coast ... or Rye ..its so much fun and you glance and stare at the ocean as you are bike riding past it ...and the road twists and turns ...

its such a blast ... doing it again this year .. my bf doesn't like swimming ..but we can compromise ... anything over eighty five ..we are bike riding to the beach ..anything lower than eighty or eighty five ...we can go bike riding ...anything lower than 79 ..we can go hiking ... but not after raining ... Too much mud .. I kept nailing my sneakers last year going up Parker mtn ... I pissed off a Dragon fly ..with the other millions of Dragon flys at my feet ..
well he was pissed ..there were mayflies ..they were so beautiful ...
uhhh I love those bugs .. Mayflies and Dragon flies are the most beautiful creatures there must be and they love being around people ...when I was mowing a few years ago ..this dragon fly landed on the wheel barrow and took a stroll with me ...they landed on my hand as I was moving the grass ..it was awesome .. I feel so close to nature and the elements when I am outside ...

ahhh ...
I don't know what I am doing after Laurie leaves ...we are going to the fair ..but she is picking me up from the library ... I am volunteering there for three hours ..at one she is picking me up ..its going to be eighty degrees ..walking around ...
I probably will do a thirty minutes bike ride ..or fory minute bike ride ..depends on the temp really ..

Well I am doing better...
I took a harsh 45 minute bike ride and a twenty minute walk later... picked up my scripts and headed home ...

WE decided to get an appreciation card and candle for my mother...so lizzy bought those and I bought a bag for her bday gift ...
its a tea cozy ..with little bears inside having tea... my mother .. HAS TEA all the time ..decaf ... lol she is too hillarious..

its like me with my ice water, decaf ice tea ...
its crazy ... I don't know how she can drink something so hot on such hot days .. I can't do that ...

I think I spelled the lake wrong ..but we didn't go swimming ...we looked at yard sales to find items ..like dishes for Alex's condo ..his home ..lol I am staying during the summer ...he will be SHARING his home with me ...even when I live with him permanently .. hopefully ...lol we will just have to see ...but my weight and my school are more important than my bf and I realize this ...he wants me healthy, active and wants me to lose weight ... I want to too ...but it will just be slow ...because I seem to be only able to lose a pound a week ..which is perfectly fine for me ...

I've heard some people say that hot beverages on a hot day helps cool them off -i'm not sure if it's mind over m atter or not -but i will take my iced tea any day of the week :D

Anyway ... lol

So I have been eating enough ice scream to bring my weight from 295 to 297 .. I was doing so good ... icks ...

BUT I wasn't going to go for a walk today ... BUT I decided against my idea of taking a break and went for a forty minute walk and it was no stroll ...but I walked it faster than I walked it last time ... took me 55 minutes to walk the route I just walked a week ago .. I have walked and bike so much ..it took me fifteen minutes less to walk it ...now I have to come up with a new route that is harder and longer ... a good hour would be good ...like 60 minutes ..no cheating and going less ...lol

BUT I think I know just the route ...but tomorrow is supposed to rain ..so I am happy I went today ..cause I might not be able to go tomorrow ..it depends on the weather ...

so .. I am very happy!
But my mom says she doesnt notice my knees becoming smaller ...I think they are becoming smaller ... I dont know! lol
they will!

It seems to me like you're doing great! It looks like you have a lot of motivation. Good luck with everything! It'd take a whole lot to get my but on a bike! lol
 
Hi Nataliejo. I just read your whole journal and it looks like your doing great. Its awesome that you go for those 15 mile bike rides. Don't get discouraged from slipping a little and eating some ice cream. Its great that you took that time off of your walk. I wasn't happy with the pace the scale was moving (like when it seemed like it was frozen) so I bought a body tape measure. Its just another way to see progress besides the scale or cloths.

I am doing pretty good now ..except my feet are killing me ...lol I have arthritis... hopefully never Osteo .. my grandmother and grandfather had osteo arthritis... and I hope I never get Osteo... but ...
I am working hard so I don't end up getting it... I should take calcium pills ... Caltrate.... I'm not taking vitamins ... I don't know if I should ...they have a tendency to bother me ... oh well .. I seem to be feeling good right now ..except for the pulsing pain coming up from my ankles and foot to my shin ... etc ...

My heart goes out to you. I know where you're coming from. I'm almost 400 pounds and I struggle with how I look to other people. I struggle with the snickers of kids and adults and I hate going outside, but the flip side is that if I don't move I'll just get bigger and feel worse about myself. It's a struggle though, every day and I wish you all the best. Get an mp3 player and try to block them out that way ... don't look at the little assholes, just think about how you're making yourself better and healthier.

Thats what I kept reminding myself as I was walking...

"don't pay attention. Keep walking." thats consistantly going through my head at a rapid pace, more rapid than my walking.

I do have a great hand held cd player and it is really good making no bumps .. I have been considering using that ...because the other day when I was walking up the street ...one kid yelled "OMGod, look at her!"

That just about sent me back down the hill into the house, but I said to myself that if I don't push on it will get worse and this will continue...

so I am going head long, however sometimes I stumble..and I don't know how much is enough exercise.. I used the weights tonight for a good ten to fifteen minutes and it was wild how much it hurt ... it was very straining ...but it was good ...

I am hopefully going for another walk tomorrow ...
its supposed to rain tomorrow at certain times and thunderstorm ...
but I plan on hitting the pavement once it clears up a little ... I don't mind getting rained on a little ...just makes my glasses wet and a little foggy ...but its all good ... the thunderstorms are another thing ...don't want to get caught in one of those ...so I will be walking with in the area and circling around up consistent hills ...

Using the CD player is a great idea. I find that when I'm listening to music when I'm at the gym or walking around I'm less self conscious. Which lowers my anxiety level severly considering I think it would be impossible for me to be anymore self conscious. Good job working with the weights it takes time to get used to them. Its just another thing one has to be patient with but the little bit that gets done is effective =) Your right you should keep walking don't let them bother you. You are doing something great for yourself and don't let some little brats spoil that for you!

How are you today???

You are still doing really well with your walks and bike rides! i dont think i could do 15 miles on the bike or if i did it would take me forever i would keep stopping just goes to show your determindation! so with that in mind ignore these stupid kids and think in a few months time what you will of gained by these walks and bike rides and then this time next year i bet the wont even look 2ce at you as your running down the road on the route you used to walk.
Having music palying whie you do it is a great idea i find it helps with the motivation as well all your fave songs and you wont finish your walk before you have heard them all i also use them as markers walk a little bit quicker for 1 song then carry on as normal
