Beyond 200

OMG!! You are just moving steady on down that ticker, GOOD JOB girlfriend!! YEAH!! I'm sure you must be feeling a little better than last month right?? With all those pounds gone, Oh boy!! I hope you have a wonderful time off! Every mom deserves one and BIG TIME!! Do you know much about the group classes called Body Vibe, Body Flo?? They are another form of group classes, but were designed by a whole different company. Well, they had a NEW launch at my gym last night for them, and OH MY GOSH!! I had a blast, this Body Vibe, is ten times better than group groove. I seriously felt like I was performing in a Britney Spears video. LOL LOL Okay, maybe looking like a bit of a Dee-Da-Dee, but I was having a lot of fun doing it. The instructor said if you do the moves at the highest of your ability, you would have burned close to 450 calories per hour. So, I'm really excited about it. I guess they are switching over to this program in the fall, so currently it's still Group Groove. Which I love too. Tonight I'm doing Centergy, love that classes also. Well enough about that. Have yourself a wonderful time off!!

August 30

Hi Mal & Miss Ladybug! MLB - we don't have those other classes at my gym. They sound fabulous. It's been 3 1/2 weeks since my last Group Power or last workout of any kind except walking. This Sunday I'll be back in class.

Vacation was unbelieveably wonderful. Beautiful beaches, time in the ocean, lots of fun time with the baby, wiffle ball, home-cooked meals. Totally idyllic Martha's Vineyard. I am more relaxed than I've been in a long long time. And, my weight shows it! I'm down to 191.8. 5.8 pounds to go till I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight of 186.

That's wonderful news!! I'm so happy your weight is still moving on down the line, even without working out. Your so lucky!! I would certainly put on 5lbs if I didn't work out 4 days a week. You should be soooo happy!! I hope your Labor Day weekend is a real good one!

September 4

I'm back on the exercise track! I went to group power Sunday morning, which I walked to with Frank in the stroller, so I probably walked 3-ish miles in addition to the class. Yesterday I took a long walk, @ 2 mi, and went for a swim on the last day of the city pool season. Today I did my first workout in the office gym - 40 minutes on the elliptical, 3 mi, 400+ calories burned. I belonged to this teeny tiny bare-bones gym two years ago, but quit when I got pregnant. This time around I'm joining in anticipation of getting pregnant. It's $154 for the entire year, so it's worth it. So, 3 workouts so far this week. That's about what I did the entire month of August. I'm back on track to do the 22 or more workouts that I did in June and July. I just found out that a second friend of mine is pregnant and that a third friend is going to start trying in October. I'm definately getting the I'm-ready-for-another-baby bug. I'll work out steadily for the next month or two and then see what happens . . . As for the scale, I saw 190 several days ago and then saw 194 - not suprising considering how many large meals I had over labor day weekend. I'm going back to smaller meals and will stay away from the scale for a week or so.

WOW another baby sometime soon, that would be exciting!! If it wasn't for the fact that my sons are going to be 18 in a month, I would have probably opted for another with my new hubby, but we are just happy and content having the two. Your last work out seemed like a big one, great job!! I love those group classes and don't know what I would do without them!! I think you'll get to that 190 in no time!! Keep up the good work!

new baby bug

Hey Kim - my friend who's going to start trying again in October, after she does the marathon (and we thought WE exercised a lot), has a son who starts high school today. I didn't think she and second hubby would have any kids together, but evidently they changed their minds. So, they'll have one in high school and one in diapers. Are you surreee you don't want another? :)

UUUUU, No, not now! we are done! We are really liking the FREE time we have to just take off and go places, and since the boys are starting college, it's really a lot of "us" time and right now that's exactly what we need. But, I'm all for "never say never" hahahahah but, it's not likely for us. A lot of people around me are having children lately, so I'm enjoying those babies, it's so fun! :jump::beating:

September 5

Today was my first time at 5:40 a.m. group power. It was totally worth it. 5:05 to 5:15 a.m. stank. That's when I was lying in bed wondering whether I was really going to get up and contemplating how mad/disappointed I'd be with myself if I didn't. 5:50 to 6:45 a.m. was great. I always like that class, even when I don't think I'm going to make it through the squat set.

I ate well overall yesterday. Breakfast, if I remember right, was shredded wheat & cheerios w/ a banana. Lunch was a southwest chicken salad from McDonalds. Dinner was a chicken breast w/ @ 3/4 c. cous cous, broccolli & grilled red & yellow peppers, and 1 grolsch beer. Not so great was the 5 chocolate chip cookies I had later w/ milk. They were small. 2 would have been fine - 3 just o.k., and 5 was wayyy to many.

Today:
pre-work out: one of Frank's fruit bars
breakfast: one egg/one egg white omlette w/ 1 tomato, 1 c. spinach & 1/3 c. feta. 1 slice wheat toast w/ butter. 2 cups coffee w/ whole milk. 1/2 banana. 1 of Frank's mini waffles.

plan:
snack, cottage cheese
lunch, sushi or McD's SW salad
dinner, 1 chicken leg, 1/2 brat, 1/2 c. potato salad, unlimited peppers & broccoli, 1 ear corn.

September 6

The scale this morning said 192.2. It was after I'd eaten breakfast & had some coffee, so I'm not switching my ticker from it's current 191.8. I'm logging on here just to say that I'm feeling really good about my weight. I'm so happy with my loss so far. My eating yesterday was exactly what I'd planned. O.k., I swapped the 1/2 brat for 3 cookies, I didn't have the corn and I had a beer, but all that is exactly in line with what I had in mind for my eating.

Today I had shredded wheat & cheerios w/ a banana. Sadly my peach was no good. I also had coffee & two of Frank's mini-waffles. I'll work out at the office gym at lunch and have the SW salad from McD's for lunch. Dinner will be a brat w/ grilled peppers, lots of broccoli, and a little potato salad. Probably 1 beer too.

September 10

Happy Monday. We had a good weekend. My meals have been good but I'm bothered by how accustomed I continue to be to having dessert. I'm keeping them small, and making them smaller and smaller, but still . . . As a pat on the back for myself, I have to add that I've gotten in the habit of having a handful of carob chips in the evening to satisfy my sweet tooth. So, sometimes I'm pretty virtuous.

I'm delighted that my exercise is 100% back on track and, actually, better than ever. I've exercised 8 out these first 10 days in August. I went to group power both Saturday & Sunday mornings and had a 6 a.m. pilates lesson this morning. This is my last pilates lesson for the forseeable future because I can't afford it. But, it felt so good that I'm tempted to try to pepper a few in over the next few months. We'll see. My new routine is to work out on the elliptical at my work gym Tuesdays & Thursdays at 11am(ish) and to do the 5:40! a.m. group power class on Wednesday mornings. That's all from the windy city, which is finally feeling a little bit like fall this morning. (Can you tell that my endorphins are still pumping from pilates this morning? :) )

The scale was 192 over the weekend. I'm hoping it's back into the high 180s by the end of this week. Bye all!

Sounds like a great workout program, and I'm so sad your not going to be able to get Pilate's in anymore! That class is so much fun, and when I take them I feel so good afterwords. Maybe, money will get a lot better soon and you'll be able to keep on going. I feel the enthusiasm in your writing today, and I hope it keeps up, your really doing a great job!:D

September 11

Six years since the attacks. My heart goes out to all those who are mourning the loss of loved ones on this sixth anniversary. Though I was safely ensconced in Jefferson City, Missouri, at the time, I remember the pain of that day sharply. They actually closed the capitol, where I worked, because of safety concerns. It was a beautiful day but none of us could do anything to enjoy it. I remember days of being glued to television and drinking much too much as I watched reports late into each evening. One of my first calls was to my now-husband, who was in New York at the time. Luckily, he was across the river in Brooklyn. As a newspaper reporter, he hated that he got stuck in his borough that day and couldn't report what was happening from ground zero. But a friend of his did report from ground zero and is scarred by it. I'm selfishly glad that Eric could not get to the scene.

Today is so surreal. Doesn't seem like its been 6 years already. I don't know why, but I am nervous on this day every year. PTSD perhaps. Wait a minute, did I say I don't know why? Of course I know why!! I was freaked out for weeks.

Hope you have a good workout week sista!
