bep's diary.....

I had just gone out in my gardens and picked a bucket of cherry tomatoes. I was washing them and I think I ate like 15 - 20 of them while washing!!! Hey...at least they are healthy! I had better be careful or I will get those acid sores in my mouth. My cherry tomatoes have been going crazy!!! I get a bucketful about every day/other day! I have been giving them by the bagloads to friends. Next year, I will do less cherry tomatoes and plant something else in some of that space. My cukes are growing like crazy too! I finally just quit cutting them off when they were big enough and am just leaving them on there to get bigger until I actually want one to eat at the moment or find someone that wants some. LOL! Yeah...I have been giving those away too.

I just can't wait until my green peppers get big enough to use! MMMMMMMM!

I have been giving away herbs by the armload too. Next year I will plant more varieties and try to keep them in smaller areas so I don't have quite so many of the 6 kinds I am currently growing.

Anyway...I really didn't have any intentions of babbling on and on about my garden, but it just happens because I really like gardening.

I wish I loved to garden! I would love to be able to grow my own herbs (we can't buy them here, so it's dried everything), and make my own salsa, etc. I just don't have the will power to get out there and tend it!

There's nothing like fresh veggies from the garden!!! We've got tomatos and cucs too. I tried corn this year, but I think the bugs got to them. What kind of herbs did you grow??

Hope you're feeling better with the meds!

Your goal for the holiday's seem quite doable...YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I wish I had a garden too, but I suck BIG TIME at growing things. My dad gave me a rubber plant one year and I killed THAT! You know how hard it is to kill a rubber plant?! I'm utterly embarrassed and can't believe that I admitted that! lol

At any rate, I think it's pretty cool that you have your own garden. Having access to fresh veggies would be great. That's the main reason I don't eat too many of them. I hate eating them out of the can because they are loaded with sodium. I've been seriously considering shopping at the local Farmer's Market for fresh veggies...but there's nothing like being able to go out in the backyard. We had a HUGE garden when I was a kid and I used to hate it when my mom and dad made us pick beans and stuff! I used to be outside working in the garden with the cordless phone talking to my friends!! :D :D LOL Needless to say my father wasn't very happy about that!

My herbs are oregano, basil, chives, thyme, parsley, terragon, oh....make that 7 herbs...I forgot...and mint.

I could do the herbs in my garden but veggies and I are like oil and water!
I have 2 rose gardens and some morning glorys I am a flower person but I do live herbs I am going to check into growing those!Good luck and your almost in 100land!Congrats Tammy:)

Tammy...if you don't have room in your gardens and you don't want to make another garden, try planting herbs in deep pots. One type of herb per pot. You will have to water them almost every day depending on where you put them, but it is doable. You can put the herbs just about anywhere on your deck, lawn, or wherever you have space.

Hey Bep!!! Sounds like you could start your own vegatable stand--bring in a few bucks right? LOL!

I'm glad your garden is thriving! I'm a flower person myself....a container gardener actually because the ground is almost all shale. But my petunias and impatiens are blooming nicely!

ugh...TOM is here. I hope feeling crappy burns extra cals. :p My sinus infection is still here pretty bad. I am just going to have to hold on for the ride the next 4 - 5 days. I am going to have to DOUBLE analyze everything I put in my mouth because during TOM, my eyeballs tend to see foods a little differently than they really are. :p Thankfully, I have those baked tostitos and my special dark chocolate to help get me through TOM while staying on plan.

My wife and I are jealous of you scoring baked tostitos during the Great 06 Baked Tortilla drought.

Trust me....I was going crazy without them! It is about the only 'salty' snack I allow! I just happened to find some at a Super Walmart and bought 3 bags. Company I just had ate 1 bag, but I still have about 1 1/2 bags left!

Yes...they are...but I am going to give myself those acid sores if I keep eating them so much. LOL!

I went for a FAST 4 mile walk last night...I am sooooo sore today!

Oh man oh man....when it rains, it really pours! Ya all know I have a sinus infection. Well...the night after taking that long walk, I came down with the flu...the REAL flu. You know, the "my body is killing me from head to toe and I can't quit shaking and my teeth are chattering" kind of flu. :p This morning, I woke up DRENCHED in sweat. I finally broke that fever! I feel exhausted and a little sore still, but I am glad that is pretty much over! Boy...I can go for quite a while completely healthy, but when I get hit, I REALLY get hit! :p

Is there a doctor in the house?

So...it would appear my fever didn't break after all. My temp is now 103.7 (with Tylenol taken regularly). Grrrr....I was hoping this was done. I have also started itching and can see little boils or rash here and there. I am not going to take any more of that antibiotic I have for my sinus infection in case I am allergic to it. I am really at a loss about what is going on with me with all this. :(

wow, that's a high fever. maybe you need the antibiotics intraveneously (my friend had to do that last week as she couldn't keep down her medicine, and had a high fever)

doctor?

wow thats a high fever, you might wanna check into antibiotics like the 1 above me said especially if you go more than 24 hours!
Hope you feel better Tammy

**passes a cold compress** maybe you should see your dr again and tell him/her the meds aren't working. Over a 103 temp for several days is very concerning.
