Bellaryna's Journey

Hey Bel, Take care of yourself!! :toetap05: getting everyone elses stuff and forgetting yours?

My hunnybunny and I have sort of been at odds about food and such as well too. We had a discussion the other day regarding what needs to come into the for groceries. I have incredibly high cholesterol, and I'm trying to control it with diet... which means very little meat, and we're getting into the habit of reading labels... or so I thought... When I was shopping with her the other day she kept putting stuff into the cart, then asking if it would be okay for me. Everything she was doing, full fat cheeses, meats, I kept telling her no, she was getting ticked off at me. Naught for nothing, neither one of us is a light weight, her cholesterol is okay... but.

lol, revolving walmart card. My Mother (and I for that matter!) need one of those. It's where all the money ends up anyways, may as well just fork it over to them in the first place!

Thanks for stopping in!
The funniest thing about that is that I actually WORK for Walmart!!!! :smilielol5: So if I am not at work, (I work in a distribution center, more directly in a freezer :santa:) I am usually at the store spending all that money they gave me for sending all that stuff to the store so that I could buy it! HA!
Think about it.......they could consider as a going green effort. All those paper checks not being printed would save tons of trees! hehehe

:eek:

I can sooo feel you on this Karl. Mine is more of a reverse situation though.
I am usually the one doing all the shopping. So lately I have been doing lots and lots better at what I buy. Especially the longer I am on this journey. Even the kids are complaining though about some things changing. LOL They have taken notice of the fact that there no longer is a sugary cereal waiting for them in the morning. It took the younger ones some time to get used to the new "regime". But it's the 17 year old that is really bucking the system.
I actually caught him trying to drink Mt. Dew with his breakfast the other morning!!!! :eek:
Dh on the other hand is fairly okay with most of the changes. At least when it concerns fresh foods. Mess with the processed stuff though........LOL
You get the drift.
Needless to say he didn't get very far with that one.

Well I can't be on here nearly as long as I would like. I need to get up tomorrow at 4am for the Y. So that means I need to go to bed soon.
Still hovering around that 200 mark. The last few days I haven't been trying nearly as hard as I could but tomorrow starts anew.
We have a fitness challenge at the Y starting tomorrow that will run for 8 weeks. I signed up.
I think that this is just the motivational thing I need. Something to strive for that has a bit of competative spirit to it.
I really miss Kimberly's challenges that we were doing there for a while.
So I think that this should really fill in the gap for me on that.
One of the reasons I have been gone alot this last week is due to the fact that our little bitty Mazda pickup finally died. "May it rest in Peace" LOL
We had that thing foooorrrrrreeeevvvveeeerrrr. We hoped that it would make it until at least next summer but alas it did not.
So were scrambling around for a couple of weeks trying to figure out what we could do about needing a 2nd vehicle.
Turns out that dh had been researching some things online and found a truck that this guy was selling just across the state line (Mich).
We went and looked at it yesterday giving the guy some $$$$ to hold it so that we could pick it up today.
We got a GREAT deal!!!! Let's just say that the guy was really wanting to sell it. (Today we found out that his wife has a tumor. They needed the money for treatments. Which in turn made me feel bad that we bargained on it seeings how they needed the money.) So we ended up getting it for about $3000-$4000 less than its actual blue book worth.
It is a 2004 F150 Heritage. I don't think this truck ever saw a moment of bad weather. The guy told us that if it started to rain/snow and it was parked outside he always would move it indoors.
The thing is in excellent condition. Not even dirty inside or out. It is great because it is big enough for the whole family to ride in so now when we camp we won't have to take 2 vehicles to get everyone to the site.
So anyway that has been whats been happening around here. Been pretty hectic with a few eat out sessions since we were on the road alot.
But like I said tomorrow is a whole new day.
~~~~
Just to update.
We are still getting rid of the internet. Tomorrow will most likely be the big day. So I will try to get on here as much as possible by going to the library.
But may not go everyday.
So if you don't hear from me for a while (most likely Monday) that is why.
Sounds like a nice truck!! I got rid of mine a couple years ago 'cuz it was eating me out of house and home. I just drive a little buggy now. Pretty funny when you see my little hatchback with an 18' sea kayak perched on top, it overhangs the car by a few feet in either direction!
I'm gonna miss you when you don't get as much time on here :( you were one of the first posters in my journal. I'll defintiely check in, even if you've been off for a couple days, and leave you little notes.
Awwww! :blush5: *blushing considerably*
Thanks Karl,
That really made my day. I plan to get on everyday if I can. Of course not on the weekends 'cuz of work. It will just take a bit more effort on my part. Since I am sure that the library might have a problem if I showed up in my jammies with my morning cup of joe and a bowl of cereal.
Your the bestest!!
Weighed in this morning again just on the verge of "one"derland. 200.4
Swear that scale is just playing with me! LOL
Since I can't be online like I use to be we bought the Fitday plan to have at home here on the computer.
I think that is it amazing that it says I should maintain a 1621 cals a dayto reach 165 by Saint Patties Day.
I wasn't to far off with my 1650. *Pats self on the back*
I went to a Zumba class today. I think I may have mentioned long ago that I went to a few classes with my instructor at a dance place.
The experiance that I had there kinda stunk so I was in no hurry to repeat it.
However since I am basically being forced to be MIA in my PowerCore class I figured I would give the Zumba try again.
They are now teaching it at the Y. Go figure Kelly the energizer bunny is teaching it! LOL
She actually teaches it 9!! times a week for 45 minutes a class. Add onto that the PowerCore that she teaches 4 times and her weight class 2 times and any personal traing she gets and you an see why this girl is capable of eating ala Michael Phelps style. Though she doesn't.
I am thinking I just might see a 199 tomorrow morning. All day I have maintained 200.8 even with eating and drinking. I guess the Zumba may have worked.
Well I need to get the house picked up and the kids too. So I will try to get back on later tonight and check everyone's diary. (internet's not gone yet)
Ciao
I hope that challenge at the Y gives the motivation you need. I think I might be up to doing a challenge once we get moved in and settled. Perhaps starting mid to late Nov. I haven't looked at the challenges section in ages. Isn't anyone else doing any atm?
Got gas today for $2.58 a gallon with a 10 cent off per gallon coupon. :hurray: I'm sure it's still lower by you, though. :leaving:
Got my gran reading Beverly Lewis's Amish books...lol. And I'm in the middle of one now, too, so I'm totally up for another trip to Shipshe. Next Wednesday won't work, though, as I have an ultrasound that day. What about the following Weds? What's the color like there? Will it be completely gone by then? Been kindy windy here lately so a lot of trees have lost their leaves. Oh, and there will definitely be a baby bump for ya to rub. :D
Keeping my fingers crossed for that scale to do your bidding. Just :smash: it a bit. :D
I think it will get me going. Of course watching the scale go down and knowing that the work your putting in is actually working is always a good motivator too! LOL
As for the challenges, everytime I look there are always the same ones.
I did try to do SweetiePea's 100 push-ups challenge, but due to the shoulder thing I had to gracefully bow out.
Yep we are still lower than you guys. I filled up yesterday for $2.54/gallon w/o coupons. Between both our little KIA and the new F150 it costs us $80 to fill up both vehicles. Compare that to last month when the prices were still so high and it cost nearly $60 just to fill up the KIA! I know they say that the prices falling so fast are not good for the economy over-all, but it is good for my own personal economy in my wallet!
Ooooh I can't wait to rub the bump!!! Will you grant me 3 wishes like Aladdin with his genie? LOL :smilielol5::smilielol5: I know, I know I am full of it. *giggling*
Well I would never dream of asking you to skip that for me. :biggrinjester:
As it just happens to be I talked to my boss at the Y today and they asked if I wouldn't mind shifting my Tuesday's to Wednesday's. So all future Wednesday's are out. But if you are available next Tuesday I am now free to move about the country. :biggrinjester:
The trees here where I am at are about 50%-75% gone. Not sure up in the Shipshe area though. Of course this rain today won't help any. Just knocks 'em all down.
Keeping my fingers crossed for that scale to do your bidding. Just :smash: it a bit. :D
Thanks for the scale smashing vibes. This morning saw 199.2!!!
I am sure it had alot to do with the Zumba class. When you leave you are dripping in sweat!
Real quick as I need to shower and pack my lunch for work.
This morning I finally broke past the 200 mark into "One"derland!!!! Weighed in at 199.2!!
YEAH!!!
:party:
I am positive the Zumba is what did it. In fact Kelly told me that due to the intensity of the class that if you eat right (that being most of the key to success) and take the class just 3 days a week you could very likely lose 2-3 pounds every week. I am not sure if I could actually lose 2-3 pounds a week but I am up for trying! LOL:smilielol5: I think though that I will stack the odds in my favor and go M-F. I mean might as well since I don't have to pay for the classes. Right?
Shoulders are a bit achy. At first I thought it was due to the Zumba since we do some shoulder movements though I did restrict myself on those alot yesterday. But now that it is doing nothing but raining I thinking it was the weather bothering them more than anything else.
Kelly told me that I really need to go and get the x-rays taken since it can actually show if a muscle is messed up. She did suggest that I try doing some shoulder stretches about 5x's a day. Just small little movements that overall would only add up to about 20 minutes. She is thinking that if I did that everyday for about 2 weeks I could possibly see some improvement. Especially if all it is is some tightened up muscles that are not ever really getting a chance to recouperate. Since all I do is rotate them at work on the weekends that is.
Well anyway I got to go.
I hope that everyone has a great weekend.
Ciao
Hi Auntie Bella! :cheers2: YAY for Onederland!!!!!!!! :D Good for you! Just wanted to pop on in and say hello! You are doing amazing! Just reading about your exercise class is enough to make me want to curl up on the couch and take a nap! haha! I've been sooo drained lately and can't wait to get my energy back! I know it won't be long though. Well, keep up your awesome work and make sure to do some extra exercises for me! hehehe
Hey B. just thought I'd pop in and say hi while I have a minute.Looks like you're doing awesome!!My scale hasn't budged.I think it's defective...I bought it from Walmart!!LOL Just kidding.I actually got it from Linens and Things.And it is not defective..it's just stubborn and doesn't want to move down a number.Darn thing.was frustrated the other day when I wrote in my diary.But new outlook and things will get better.Take care.
**WooT!** **WooT!** :hurray:
Way ta go gurl! :hug2:
I hope you have a great weekend to. ;)
I sure miss ya.
<3 Stacy
Gas was $2.62 today..still higher...lol. I normally go through about 11 gallons per week, so I'm saving about $15 per week from when it was $4 a gallon. And David probably saves about the same. So that's about a $120 a month savings for us. :hurray:
Congrats on onederland!! :party: See, ya just have to :smash: the scale once in awhile (and work your putooty off in a zumba class apparently). :D
I hope Kelly's ideas for you shoulder help. Being in pain is no fun at all. :(
You can make 3 wishes, but I don't know if they'll be granted. :D
Tuesday's aren't that good for me b/c we have meetings on those days. That sucks about Wednesdays being no good for ya now. What about Mondays? I could always skip this Tuesday's meeting. :D LIke I care what my boss thinks about it. ;) It's not mandatory anyway.
Hey everyone!!!
Thanks for stopping in and keeping my journal warm for me while I was freezing off my behind this weekend! LOL
Well I can tell that the holiday's are getting started. OR at least they are at work. Getting ready to pack it all in to the store I guess. I swear all I did all weekend was put away pallets and pallets of bisquits.
Guess Wal-Mart thinks that with the economy the way it is people are going to be hitting the comfort foods pretty hard. :biggrinjester:
Over all the weekend went well. Was some long nights again.......but I can't complain too loudly since I did sign up for that job as well as it pads my bank account fairly well.
Weighed in at 198.6 on Saturday. For another .8 pounds down. Woot Woot!!!I am fairly certain that I either weigh the same today or possibly less, but due to the lack of sleep won't know until tomorrow morning.
:rant:
Wanted to hit the morning Zumba class today but ended up taking my mom to a doctor's appt that was completely unnescessary!
Mom happened to make an offhand remark about her voice sounding funny (she has non-hodgkin's lymphoma) and the doc set her up an appt to run a camera down her throat. What she didn't tell him was that her voice has sounded like for about 20 years and that she smoked for like 35 years!!!
So of course they didn't find anything at all!!!
Hubby and I have come to the conclusion that she basically has an addiciton to getting procedures done. I mean at the end of last year before November was even out Social Security had contacted her and told her that she couldn't have anymore "special" stuff done since she had actually reached a limit! How's that for crazy?!?!
Normally I wouldn't complain too loudly but this time I was actually put out quite a bit by the fact that I had to taxi her to the appt. Which was an hour away. And since I didn't get to bed until well after 3am and got up at 7am to take her I was not a very happy camper.
I told her that I thought the procedure was a waste of time. That she should have told them all the back history. Nicely of course. And she did agree but by that time it was to late. We were well on our way to the appt.
:rant:
Okay now that I am done with that I feel much better! LOL It's not like I can tell her all that to her face. I am not that mean.
Figured since we were out and about that we might as well have breakfast together .
So we went over to Cracker Barrel. Now I could have totally blown it here as Cracker Barrel on the whole does not have anything on it's menu that is low-fat, low calorie or low carb. But they have these new things that they cook up and serve you in a cute little skillet.
After talking to the manager and determining that I could get my veggies steamed instead of fried/grilled in margarine and my eggs switched to eggbeaters I ordered the Veggie Skillet.
Let me tell you it was delish!!!!
Full of peppers, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and roasted taters. Add to that my eggbeaters on top with a sprinkle of cheese and a side of wheat toast w/ low sugar jam and this breakfast was the bomb!!!
Just goes to show you that all you gotta do is ask. I mean it is my money so why can't they make it the way I want, right?
Well I need to get supper started so will check around at some other diaries most likely tomorrow.
Love ya'll!
Ciao
I get some pretty wild swings here. a couple stations were $2.48 gl, and if you go over 1 town they are at $2.89. go figure.
$2.36!!!??? It's still $2.58 here. :cuss:
That sucks about your mom's needless appt. Sounds like she likes the attention, maybe a bit bored, hypocondriac.
Congrats on the continued scale lowering! :party: That's great news. And you also deserve some big kudos for going to the trouble of ordering something healthy at Cracker Barrel. I love that restaurant, but they closed down the one by us (don't know why as it was always busy), and now the nearest one is 40 min away.
Extra hours is good b/c you'll have more $$ for Christmas, right? :D So watcha gonna get me? :rofl: I can't believe all the stores have their Christmas stuff out already when it isn't even Halloween yet. They say it's b/c of the economy, but you know darn well they'll continue to do it even after the econ improves. :rolleyes:
