Being a responsible adult! Weight loss n stuff...

Hey guys!! Had a good day today, walked for about 40mins this morning and have class tonight, food has been perfect. Went and got the x-ray done, going back to see the Dr about it tomorrow. I just got frustrated with him because he seemed a bit hopeless, wasn't really listening to me, etc. Should've just gone and seen another doctor but thought if I get the x-ray done it at least rules something out (or explains what's wrong). If it's not my hip then it's probably a bowel or intestinal thing. Anyhoo. Being responsible about it!

Other than that, I've made all my husbands lunches for the rest of the week, had a bit of a clean, caught up on a few tv shows. Nothing too exciting!

Food plan for tomorrow

B 2 eggs, wrap, 2 tbsp. cottage cheese
S 1/3 avocado, 2 crackers
L Squid steak, sweet potato, 2 cups veg
S Cashew and berry ice-cream in the vitamix
D Meatloaf, sauerkraut, 2 cups veg, 1/2 cup rice, post workout protein shake

Exercise 30min walk (to dr and back), gym class

1 perfect day down, 5 to go!

I think that I'll actually just take a moment here to say how happy I am right now- work is boring, yes, but it's paying the bills and I like the people I work with. I love what I'm studying even though it's freakin hard and feels like I'm learning a few different languages at the same time (I'm looking at you, biochem and anatomy!) I feel like I have a better relationship with my sisters again after seeing them and can't wait to go home in the middle of the year and see everyone! Also I feel so healthy at the moment and slimmer than I have for a really long time. So just thought I'd put that bit of positivity out into the universe!
Mystic says it's really hard to run and cry at the same time, so I'm glad I wasn't running when reading this. I'm very happy for you. This is great.

Well, let myself go pretty off the rails today. Oops. Picking it back up again tomorrow.

The above is still great. :D

Go get 'em tomorrow.

Hey MrVee! Nice to see you again!!! :D

Today hasn't been a perfect day, but it has been ok. Just got a bit annoyed as I was all ready to go to the doctor again really early, then it started raining out of nowhere (and my phone was adamant that it was sunny) and it didn't stop... for like 4 hours. Got a bit restless, had lunch super early, ate about 100g of cashews... actually started to make a pizza, then stopped myself and threw it out. Ha. I'll just have a protein shake soon and something super light for dinner... today can be salvaged! Also training was cancelled tonight, PT has an appointment.

Did finally end up getting to the doctor (after waiting over an hour!) Xray showed nothing so I queued up for an ultrasound, and I have bursitis in my hip. From all my hip issues I'm assuming. They treat it with anti inflammatories and cortisone if it's bad, but I hardly notice it so I declined. Guess at least now I know. It doesn't really get worse with exercise, I just have issues with most abdominal exercises and that's it. So, life goes on!

Not up to much the rest of the day, just doing some study I guess. Oooh, something my husband pointed out yesterday... we bought tickets to go and watch Insurgent at the movies on Fri night at 7pm, probably won't be home till after 9... and we have that mountain climb the next day which will likely mean a 2:30am start! Can't go to sleep early! Arrgh!!! At least he can sleep during the day... I have work. Booooo!!!!!

Food plan for tomorrow

S (pre workout) 4 Brazil nuts
B Protein shake, baked oatmeal
S 2 hardboiled eggs, vege sticks
L Meatloaf, 1/2 cup sweet potato, 2 cups mixed roast veg
S Smoothie
D 130g chicken breast, 2 cups stir fry veg, pack of shirataki noodles

Exercise 30mins PT (legs), 50min walk to work

Well, that doesn't sound TOO bad as far as your hip goes! Good job resisting the pizza!
Ah! you're are the one talking about Insurgent! I didn't realize it was coming out so soon, so now that you reminded me of it I am not going to see it on Saturday!

Had a pretty bad couple of weeks, have to stay off my hip now for another week (ahhhhhhhhhhhhh going mental) and Wade had some bad news regarding his health. I just let it all get on top of me I guess. 69.7kg on the scale today (though I just started TOM yesterday too). Holidays start today for 2 and a bit weeks, I go back on the 19th April. Going to try to eat as perfectly as I can this week (my cheat is going to be on Good Friday when both Wade and my husband are home)and hopefully will be back to exercise next week. Oh, when I went back to the dr for my hip he took a mole out of my back so I've had a pretty uncomfortable few nights, it was between my shoulderblades.

Day off with husband today, don't really have any plans.

Oh and uni is going ok, I got a bit behind after all the stuff with Wade last week but I stayed up last night and sent in two assignments just before they were due... I hate doing that, putting stuff off till the last minute, but at least it's done!

Food plan for today

B 1/2 cup muesli, 60g co yo, 1/3 cup raspberries, coconut milk, chia seeds
S Carrot and red capsicum, 40g hummus
L Roast beef, 2 cups veg
S 40g nuts, 100g frozen cherries
D Chicken breast stroganoff, 2 cups veg

Exercise Don't even no why I put this here, but NO EXERCISE. Actually not much movement at all is the plan.

I don't know any perfect people Lucy. Sending you a great big hug(being very careful that it doesn't hurt) & one for Wade too. Take care sweetie & enjoy Easter, xo Cate

Hey guys, sorry let the diary slip a little again. Still trucking on. Weighed 68.5kg again on Thu last week with little effort and pretty sure I've lost since then, so back into the swing of things.

Had my 10 days off exercise which was torture, I felt absolutely monstrous and jiggly by the end of it which is ridiculous because I hadn't really gained any weight... Of course, I also didn't have the 'pump' in my muscles like I normally do so the extra weight that comes with weight training also wasn't there. Exercised 4 days last week and feeling better again.

Easter involved a heap of food, and then went away for a couple of days unexpectedly with the husband which was nice! It was crazy busy but we went to a tourist-y destination about 3 hours north of here and it was so relaxing. Definitely needed it. Here's a pic from a morning beach walk we did. You can't see it in the photo, but the beach was absolutely covered in butterflies! Never seen that before!

Stopped at a factory outlet shopping centre on the way back and spent SO MUCH MONEY on Lorna Jane, so now I actually have a fashionable looking workout wardrobe instead of my ratty 2 year old Kmart exercise pants and my few tank tops.

Got back on Tue and went back to the gym that evening. Had a massive workout on Fri morning and then ended up being really ill the rest of the day, I don't think it was from the workout. Felt like food poisoning to me and Ash and Wade didn't get it. Better now though! Ash had yesterday off and binge watched the entire season of Daredevil, that show was freakin amazing. Highly recommend!!!!

Wade isn't doing too well. Had his doctors appt. last week and he's showing no improvement, he goes back in a month with his adjusted meds and if he's still not improving then he switches straight to chemo and radiation. He's been pretty depressed the last few weeks, I think dealing with his mortality more than anything. Poor guy, it's so rough and he's so young.

Nothing else notable has been happening... Back at work on Thu, hate how fast holidays always seem to go. Getting ready to dive into some uni work now, yay...

Sounds like you are doing fantastic and your trip sounds lovely. Great job on the workouts!
I'm so sorry Wade is not doing well. I hope something changes and he can start to become well.

Jeez, I'm sucking at keeping up this diary.

First off, I've eaten like absolute shit for an entire month. Weighed in on Mon at... 69.1kgs, so haven't really gained much. Don't hate me! I haven't had a workout since last Tuesday (8 days ago) as that was my last PT session- PT is leaving the country and not coming back! So I've joined a new gym (major upgrade) and I have a consult with a new PT tomorrow morning. Exciting! New gym also has classes and a steam room, and is 5 times the size of the other one. Yay! Wade has joined with me which is exciting, he has the same PT as me and is having his first session right after me. I'm helping him out with his food at home too.

I'm starting back on my food plan tomorrow, holidays are booked for me to go home on the 6th July- 20th, so I'd like to have made a fair bit of progress. It's 7 1/2 weeks, so HEAPS of time. The aim at the moment is 2x PT sessions a week, 2 yoga sessions and then something high intensity. Ideally I'd like to get down to around 65kgs, we'll see. Actually as far as end goals go, when I talk to the PT tomorrow at the moment my goal is to below 65, after that I don't care so much and will focus on body comp. A bigger goal is to lose around 10cms off my waist and work super hard on my bootay for summer! Which is ages away, so it should look amazing by then.

My lil sister is thinking (again) about moving over here, she's going to make a decision in the next few weeks and if she wants to she'll then give notice, and fly back with us. I really hope she does come, she sorted out her work and living situations which is what she thought was making her sad but she still isn't happy. I think it's more everyone else around her is doing fun/exciting things, whereas she's in a bit of a rut and none of her friends are really around her anymore. She said being here was the best time she's had in years.

Anyhoo... going to start posting food again! So, tomorrow!!

B Apple pie baked oatmeal
Pre workout 4 Brazil nuts
Post workout Protein shake
S Carrot, 40g hummus
L Mountain bread wrap with roast beef, cottage cheese, tomato, lettuce
S Smoothie
D 130g chicken breast in tomato, 2 cups mixed roast veg

Exercise PT session

I work tomorrow arvo 1-5. Also in the process of looking for a full time job, mine is too boring!

Welcome back Lucy!

One thing I've gone through a lot of the last three years is personal trainers. The ones attached to my gym come and go (my last one just opened up a new gym, so I'm going to go check it out) but I've liked all four of them. I really wish I could run into the first one again, since I was around 315 the last time I saw him. Freak him out.

I always enjoy visiting my big sister in Santa Fe and there's aspects to the place that would entice me to live there, but it's just absolutely the wrong place for me to be work wise. The visits in the summer are fun though and it gets me out of the oven here in Phoenix for a bit. It would probably be nice for you to have your little sister around more often.

That's enough chit chat, now go get to work on that "bootay!"

Nice to have you back Lucy & great that Wade is going with you to the new gym. He must be a bit better, which is good. I hope your sister decides on the move & then is happy with her choice. It should be good for her, especially if she is determined to make it so. Hope you find a more interesting job. Being bored is awful! xo Cate

Hey guys, thanks for saying hi! I'll try and be a bit more regular with my posts!

PT went well, haha hilarious...he says I'm his strongest client. I start next week, Tue/Wed/Fri.

Cate... unfortunately Wade isn't doing great, he's got more energy because he has officially decided to stop treatment. He went home for a week and saw his family and the Dr that he had originally for test results, and it's now spread to his stomach. The doctors reckon he'll have 1-2 good years before he gets really ill, and chemo would have only given him 1 extra year but he wouldn't have been able to travel or anything with treatments every fortnight. So he's trying to get a bit healthier in other ways, Wade is a really huge guy so I'm helping him with food and doing everything I can to keep him active and excited with the gym. He's doing 1 PT session a week and I'm going to encourage him to go to classes... by going with him lol. Also I think if he has time off when I have a PT session he's just going to go and sit on a bike and pedal and use the steam room. Baby steps, right? I'm not even trying to get him to stop eating junk food, I'm supplying him with healthy food for all his main meals and I'm just hoping for every good meal he eats it's less crap than what he would have otherwise eaten.

Oh, turns out I have to walk home from work tonight as Wade will be staying the night at a friends place. Blah, it'll be cold and dark when I leave at 5!!!

Oh and just thought I'd randomly mention- I was weighed at the gym, after eating breakfast/drinking 2 coffees and approx. 1L of water/ fully clothed, and I was 69.4kgs. Either I've lost weight or my scales at home are out, he says theirs are regularly calibrated and incredibly accurate. I was expecting to see over 70kgs.

He's having such a hard time at the moment Cate, breaks my heart because he is absolutely one of the nicest people I know. He's had close to a month off now to deal with things, I convinced him to get counselling after he still hadn't had any sleep after a week. He goes back to work on Sunday, he's just been using all the sick leave he saved up for the surgery he's ineligible for now.

Food was good today, I kept it pretty dead on, just dinner was different. I made cauliflower and corn fritters instead of veg.

Also random, my elbow kinda hurts. Think I've strained a tendon/ligament or something. Hurts like A LOT, had to take painkillers for it at work. Been ok since then.

Food plan for tomorrow

B 150g light Greek yogurt, 1/3 cup fruit, 1/2 cup fruit free muesli
S Leftover chicken and fritters
L Strawberry protein smoothie
S 40g roasted almonds, frozen cherries
D Wrap with tomato, lettuce, sausage, egg white, cottage cheese
Post workout Quest bar

Exercise 50min walk to work, gym class in the evening

Didn't end up going to the gym, waited for Wade but he never came home! Guessing he stayed out with his friend. I walked to work and back though! Also didn't end the day quite on the food I planned, I had strawberries with nuts, then had a protein bar anyway. Then a plain sausage by itself a few hours later. Don't feel bad about it though, was pretty physical at work today. With my walk there and back too I did well over 20000 steps.

Tomorrow I have chiropractor in the morning, work 11-4, then going out for dinner. Husband is home this weekend!

B Leftover apple pie oats
S 130g beef, 2 cups veg
L Strawberry smoothie
D Out! Some form of chicken/seafood with salad and possibly chips

No exercise! And I'm actually pretty sore from my session yesterday.

Oh Lucy.. I'm so sorry to hear about Wade. He's stopped treatment? How do you feel about that? Glad you are encouraging him to get out there and get healthy--It's a great mood booster as well as the obvious health benefits xx
