Hi guys

Just a quick update so my weight on 21st August is 168lbs.

I am still feeling great and ready to shed the final 20+ lbs

Wish me luck :)

Wow incredible! Congratulations.

What was your dress size at your highest? What was it at 190ish. How did you do it? I am speechless how did you lose 52 lbs in 12 weeks please let me know. :hurray:

Hello everyone,

@ Iq rider & Loch - Thank you so much for the kind words and support.

...And as always Frogged thanks for the support and encouragement (You are an inspiration to me).

@ Bouncewden - Thanks for your comment, I feel awesome.

In answer to your questions:

I was a US dress size 22 / UK 24 at my largest which was 245lbs, At a guess I think I was about a size 16 when I weighed 190lbs .

How did I do it? Well... I started eating breakfast usually porridge or Weetabix then I snacked on fruit and had a cup of soup whenever I felt peckish, I had meat or fish with salad for lunch and then meat or fish with vegetables for dinner (the opposite of whatever I had eaten for lunch). I bulk the meal up with cous cous which I find is a nice addition to a salad( and low in calories)

I drink a lot of water, green tea, peppermint tea and barley (occasionally).

I started off doing the treadmill 3x a day for 5min's and built it up from there, If I remember correctly it was about 6weeks in when I pushed myself to do 30min's each session and then 60min's, Some days I was working out for 3hrs or more.

I did have an ankle injury which was down to poor footwear, so I then started using the exercise bike as my ankle was too painful to run on.

That took about 4 weeks to heal.

I should also point out that after about week 3or4 I introduced weights to my workouts and did strength training for approx 45mins a day.

At the beginning I was working out everyday but I soon found out that the body needs to rest and recover so I dropped to 6days working out but now I do 5days a week , usually Monday-Friday with the weekend off.

As for losing the 52lbs so quickly, It came off but I couldnt tell even though people kept saying "you look like you lost weight" It wasn't until I out the pictures side by side when I actually saw the difference haha Sounds strange but when you see yourself everyday you don't see the major changes that everybody else sees.

So that is how I have lost 77lbs since January 24th 2011. Just the good old fashioned healthy eating and exercise for me, No fad diets or quick fixes.

This is a lifestyle change not just to lose the weight but to keep it off, people find it hard to believe but I eat more now than I did before.

I only drink occasionally as I used to enjoy a glass ...or 3...bottles of wine haha

In my first week I lost 9lbs my 2nd week 7lbs and my 3rd week 5lbs then as the time went on it slowed down but still averaged about 3/4lbs a week.

Up until I hit 190s then it varied from 1lb-3lb a week.

As the weight came off and my confidence grew I started doing zumba and running outdoors, along with weights and here I am today, feeling great and ready to get the last pounds off.

I have rambled on and wrote an essay so I'm signing off now haha.

I hope I have answered the questions clearly enough, If you have any others I am more than happy to answer...

Thanks again for the kind comments, good luck reaching your goals .

So many good things in your last post! Just another great example for others to look at. Hard work and dedication will get you to where you want to go!

Keep it up:hurray:

Hey guys

I just want to say a massive THANK YOU for the ongoing support that you have given me throughout the past 8 months, I wish I could spend more time reading your stories and posts although I try to read them as and when I get the chance

I hope you are all achieving the goals that you have set and staying positive throughout.

The key to weight loss is just keep trying, no matter what obstacles seem to get in the way, you have to keep going.

I have learnt this and so whenever I haven't put 110% into a workout or ate a bit to much "naughty food" haha( I'm not sure what to call it but the sort of food that caused alot of us to be overweight) I told myself that day is done and tomorrow I will eat healthily and have a great workout.

If I'm honest, I very rarely eat unhealthy food and It's not because I can't have it, but I am pretty satisfied with the healthy choice and I don't feel like I am missing out, I WILL get to the actual point of this post

I haven't updated in a few weeks and today I am 162lbs...now I have to admit I was not expecting this weight loss as I am so close to my safe/"normal weight"(I don't like that word) what is normal anyway? haha) but as I am so close to it, I was expecting to get a 1 or 2lb loss but 4lb was a huge surprise...a pleasant surprise though

OK essay finished

Good luck to you all and thanks again.

Where is the 'like' button? I needed that comment right now b/c I've had three bad days eating wise. Came here to try to get the positive vibe going again.

repeat 10x 'tomorrow is a new day, tomorrow is a new day, tomorrow is a new day...

You are doing awesome - and I have no doubt you'll reach your goal based on your attitude and the healthy way you've decided to live your life. keep it up and keep inspiring us!

Why thank you kind sir...

I am really happy that I have been of help to you.

It's a really nice feeling to know that I have inspired you and others judging by the comments I've received on here and face2face, I love doing this and can not imagine life without the weight loss and healthy lifestyle, When I look back at how my life has changed (for the better), It makes me never want to go back to how it was before.

Thanks again Rocky71- Reading your message just made my day extra special and even more worthwhile knowing that I helped you

Good luck and keep me posted if you can.

Update -158lbs- was my weight back in October.

My weight was stuck at 158lbs for a few weeks during October/November, I had decided I was going to have a few days off to break through the plateau (which basically was me not exercising and eating a takeaway or 2 haha ) but after less than a week I was missing my routine and I gave in, I know usually you give up on healthy eating/exercising but I was the opposite, for me it was really difficult and I just felt like I didn't have that boost of energy that I get when I work out and eat right, So I basically started eating healthily and exercising again.

I haven't weighed myself as I had figured that due to the plateau and then the boost days that I possibly may have gained but because I know that I am back on track it doesn't seem necessary.

I will do my next weigh in on January 24th 2012 to mark my official year of my new healthy lifestyle

The below photo is the most recent one I had taken but as I am not weighing at the moment I have no idea what my current weight is but I look smaller than my previous photo

I can not believe it has nearly been a year since I started this journey, I again want to thank all of you that have shown me your support, from commenting on my photos to congratulating my weight loss throughout 2011.

I am so grateful to you all and I hope I can be as much help to others as you have been to me.

I am so happy I could kiss you all haha...but honestly without this site I'm not sure if I would have been as dedicated as I have been so THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.

Thought I would add some fully clothed photos for a change, been as I am usually damn near naked
