How are you doing these days? In one of your earlier posts, you've written that you are actually eating more than before? Is it because you are working out so much? Could you elaborate on that?
Also, what is your goal weight? Has weight loss slowed down? You've maintained to be in the 150s for 3 months, which is really really good, do you mind sharing some secrets?
MUCHO appreciated if so!
Congratulations! You look FAB!
Hi Laureelee
Thank you for the kind message, I am more than happy to answer your questions
What I meant when I said that I was now eating more than I was before, My working hours 6am-2pm meant that I would literally get up and go to work without eating breakfast, in fact pretty much everyday my first meal wasn't until after 2pm and sometimes later than that.
I would eat meals that I have now learnt were full of carbs, fat and nothing nutritious, I can honestly say that despite weighing 245lbs I did not constantly eat all day (I know that when some people see someone that is overweight, they sometimes assume that all we do is sit and eat all day) this was not the case for me, but because I was not eating until the afternoon, I think my body just clung onto everything, because without realizing it at the time I was starving my body all day until I got off work and then the food that I ate was full of carbs and fat, my body just clung onto everything that I ate.
When I finally decided to change my lifestyle, I made sure that I ate breakfast everyday and then as time went on, I realized that I would feel hungry every 2-3hours, So rather than wait until lunch, I would have a light snack in between meals, So this is what I meant when I said that I eat more now than I did before.
I was working out a lot in the beginning (some might say to much but hey...I maintained to do it for a year so I guess it was enough for me to handle haha) not only that but I actually started to enjoy working out, when I realized what a great feeling I got when I'd finished.
I hope that answers your question, please feel free to let me know if you want me to be more specific with my foods, workout etc
As for my goal weight, I initially wanted to get to 145lbs this would mean not only that I would be in a "normal"(I am not a fan of that word..what is normal? haha) bmi range but also it was a nice round number to end on...meaning I would have lost 100lbs, however as you had noticed my weight loss has slowed down, when I got to the 158lbs, I hit a plateau and back in late October early November I tried the suggestions to break through it and I weighed in at 156lbs on January 24th.
I purposely waited until this date because it marked my official year of weight loss and I also figured that in between November and January that my weight would be up and down due to the plateau and my attempts to break through it.
I am actually going to look at maybe adjusting my food intake, not necessarily the portion size, but maybe look more into my calories, carbs and fat intake.
I should also point out that I have never calorie counted, I basically have just made sure that whatever food I ate was not high in calories, so I actually have no idea how many I eat but with the workouts and the fact that I know the food I eat is healthy I never really felt the need to calorie count, but I might have to do it just to test out ways of speeding up getting the last pounds off.
I did want to get to 145lbs, but I honestly am not sure, but I will know when I reach a size I am happy with and one that I can maintain. I here that maintaining is the hardest part of this entire journey
What I mean is that whilst I am very happy with my current size, I know that some areas of my body I would like to improve
I am not sure what secrets I can share that might help...
I have always maintained that even if you have a day, where you might eat more than you wanted or not workout as well as you could have, that you should just forget about that day and put 110% the next day...We are only human and it does take a lot of hard work to lose weight and get healthy, but try not to beat yourself up to much.
As long as you keep going you will make it.
I hope I have answered the question's for you, I have a tendency to write essays haha
If you do have any other questions or if you want more details, please feel free to ask me anything.
Thanks again for the support, it is very much appreciated
