Felt much better yesterday and today, I've been watching what I was eating and I'm actually looking forward to getting weighed on Sunday.

Went out last night and although I did have a few drinks I did so much dancing that im sure I burned off any extra calories! I made a big pan of vegatable soup earlier and Ive been having a little bowl whenever ive felt hungry. I think my problem is definatly snacking but so long as I have soemthign tasty and health to snack on then Its okay.

Im hoping when I get weighed to have not gone back over 15 stone, but if I have then im sure i will be able to lose it in the next week. Anyway, bye for now!

good to hear you are doing better! well done!

just make sure you keep within your calorie range. doesn't matter what you eat.dancing is very good excercise!! and fun lol!!

don't worry too much about what the scale says. see the difference in your measurements and the mirror.

good luck with your weigh in.

;-)

Hi Becky

It is great that you are looking forward to being weighed. I cannot help myself - I weigh every day.

The vegetable soup is a great idea. The vegetables will be good for you (we should all try to eat 5 portions of fruit or veg a day and this will strongly help towards that target).

The dancing was a great idea. Any exercise is really good for you and it doesnt have to be anywhere near a gym.

Whenever I hit a milestone - I very often wiggle up for a few days but that really doesnt matter - the fact is that you have got there and it is very unusual to plateau at a point above where you have recently been. In a short time you get back down and that low firms up. I always celebrate my milestones and dont care about being the wrong side a day or two later. The territory has been reclaimed!

Take care

EEEK

I just got on my mums scales and it read 15 stone 5lb, I was absoloutly horified but i have to reason that:
I don't usualy get weighed on those scales
I'm wearing heavy clothes (jeans, thick jumper)
and that I have eaten quite a bit more today than on the day I usually get weighed.

Still I'm definaly expecting a gain now, although sometimes i think its actually good to have a little weight gain for motivation.
Tomorow's class can't come soon enough now, Im sure many other people there will have gained a bit of weight over christmas, I just hope I haven't actually put on 8lb because It ould take me 2/3 weeks to lose that much and was hoping to be under 14.7lb for my birthday which is at the end of Jan. Anyway, I will know tomrow! Will check in then X

Hi Becky

The amount that you have eaten earlier in the day, toilet visits, water retention issues (e.g. period, eating salty / spicy foods) and amount of clothes worn all play a part in making weight go up and down. It isnt just a question of how much fat you are carrying. It is perfectly normal to have fluctuations.

If you have put on more weight than you would like to be the case - dont worry too much about it. There will be quite a few people on this forum (and everywhere else for that matter) who will be in a similar position. I have noticed that splurge pounds (put on when people have gone on a celebration few days) tend to sound worse than they are. The secret is to forgive yourself immediately and not view it as a major failure and to get straight back on track. It is funny how often those horrifying splurge pounds fall straight back off really quickly for so many people.

I weigh myself every day and I notice that I can go to the toilet and weigh myself and get one reading. Often I can bring it down by maybe as much as half a pound by going out on a long walk, not eating and then going to the toilet again on my return and then weighing again.

It is all a bit of a game - but we might as well motivate ourselves by seeing our situation in the best light.

Try not to eat anything too salty or spicy tonight and try to drink your 2 litres of cold water - that should reduce your water retention a bit.

Have confidence that you are addressing your weight issues and you will look great on your birthday - whatever you weigh on the day itself.

Good luck at the scales.

Take care

:iagree: with margaret!

don't worry about it.

i find that i weigh a different amount each time i stand on a different scale plus you may have lost inches even though your weight fluctuates. don't worry about it. i might have asked this before but have you taken measurements??? sorry i'm rubbish at remembering things.

Angel

No I havent taken any measurements, which I know that I should!

I do know that my clothes are alot looser than they were, and that my work uniform is massive whereas it was quite tight when I first got it.

Thank you for reminding me about measurements!

there you go. doesn't matter what the scale says then as long as you are feeling and seeing the difference.

still its soooo coooool to see a differencne on the scales. haven't gone below 158 yet. been hovering above. sigh. can't wait till i get below that.

good luck on the scales tomorrow

Just been and got weighed - I gained 3lb, taking me back up to 15stone. I'm okay with it cause I know that if I try hard enough then I can loose it in the next week (plus im not getting weighed untill monday).

I'm so happy it wasn't any more, and am looking forward to a week of healthy eating! and I don't go back to college untill the 8th so that won't cause any problems.

bye for now x

Hiya Hun

A 3lb gain is very reasonable over xmas i am dreading my weigh in on Wednesday i was ment to go on the 27th but chickened out was too scared to see the damage so well dont on going!
Your back on track with your food and your mind sounds like its in the right place as well so that 3lb will fall off before you know it!

Take Care
Sarah

Hi Becky

A three pound gain will drop off you in no time. Well done for going and getting the news.

I almost feel like I should congratulate you on a 3 pound gain as I am sure that I have read that the average person puts on 7 pounds over Christmas.

It is still perfectly possible for you to get at or near your target weight for your birthday if you focus and are good with both your food and your exercise. Good luck.

Take care

Had a really good day today :hurray:

Got up at 8 and went to the gym for 2 hours, managed to burn off 1000 calories, plus some weights and sit ups.

Obviously I know many people do alot more than this, and alot more frequently - but when I first joined the gym (in june) I could barley manage 500 calories and I couldn't even do a sit up. So i'm quite proud of myself, and actually looking forward to going again on wednesday.

when I got home I organised all of my folders for college, which i've been meaning to do since the start of term (in september hehe) and then made pasta for lunch with tomatoes, red peppers, courgettes, and a little bit of low fat cheese.

I'm feeling really happy now and looking forward to going out tonight, after the disaster which was last New Year. I am going to have a few drinks tonight but i'll be doing plenty of dancing aswell, so it's all good!

X

Just calling in to say that I hope that you have a
Happy New Year

Well done for having a good day today. The gym was excellent - the food choices were great and it is brilliant that you are going to celebrate by going out dancing - that will burn lots of calories.

HIYA

Just popping in to say Happy New Year
Hope you continue your journey and do as well as you did in 2007!

Sarah

Hi there, just wanted to say Happy New Year and I wish you all the best, in particular lots of weight-loss success, in 2008. :seeya:

Got a new avatar, this one actually resembles what I look like whereas the other one was taken when I was 16.

Today has been good so far, Went the gym for 2 hours burned 1000 calories again so quite please with that.

then went into liverpool shopping and had a jacket potato with baked beans for lunch and I have had plenty of water.
Going to my Dads for dinner tonight, its usually quite a challenge for me because he makes things like chips and just general things you shouldn't eat. I have txt him advance to see what we are having and its a curry made with quorn and boiled rice so thats fine.
I'm taking some fruit and yougurt around for after when everyone else is having apple pie and custard.

Anyway, still 5 weight loss days untill i get weighed - although I did jump on the scales in the gym this morning which said I was 14s12.5lb, so I'm quite happy about that but I don't know what the gym scales are like in relation to the slimming world scales, so I will keep my weight at 15 stone untill I get weighed on monday.

i love your glasses!! my reward for reaching my goal is a new glasses among other things lol!! 2 for 1 at specsavers!!can't wait!!

its always nice to see a smaller number on the scales wherever it might be hehe! good luck on your weigh in day!!

;-)
