I didn't eat tea today as I really wasn't hungry (which is a first!), went to the full 15 syns but as I have been under the past two days that should be okay. I also really did well with water today - I always have my two litres but due to the heat today I have had 4.5 litres of water as well as a few cups of herbal tea to i'm really made up with that!

I have changed from Slimming World to basic calorie counting as I am doing my exams at the moment and feel like I have more control if I know exactly what I am eating. It seems to be working so far and I lost 2 lb this week.

I'm currently 11 stone 8lb which isn't too bad, going on holiday to Spain on July 13th so hopefully I will be a little bit lighter by then!

Still counting my calories and it's going well so far.

I tried to use the food dairy/calorie tracker thing on Sparkspeople but it was counting 0.6 grams of fat as 1 and 0.4 as 0 so I'm not going to use that as I think it is a bit inaccurate.
Been writing down the fat and calorie content of everything I have eaten, trying to stick to 1,300 calories and 28g fat per day which I have managed to do so far although I am actually finding it difficult to make up the 28g of fat as I am eating alot of fruit which obviously contains very little.

Really looking forward to this weeks weigh in and I am hoping I have lost some more of that 12.5lb gain I had a few weeks ago. I have lost 6.5 allready but it is getting me down being almost half a stone over my lowest weight.

I am currently sitting my end of year exams (only two left!) and I am finding calorie counting much easier as I tend to crave chocolate when I am stressed so its good to know I can have a few Jaffa cakes (only 1g fat and 47 calories!) as long as I count them in.

Hopefully this will work in helping me shift the last 20(ish) pounds and then I will go back to slimming world when I am wanting to maintain my weigh, which I have actually managed pretty well over the past year even though It hasn't been my intention!

I finish my exams on May 13th so I will be going home to my mums sometime after that and the first thing on my list is to join the gym - I cannot wait! I've really missed going this past few months and already have a gym sussed out near my flat for next semester so I don't end up going without excercise again.

Anyway, I have a few calories left so a jaffa cake might be in order!

Wish me Luck

:)

Popping by to see how things are going for you. It looks like you have had a very similar experience to what I had.

I got very near to my goal in winter then my weight started going up. I put on about 9 pounds and didnt really know why but thought that I must have been getting careless as I was under stress at the time.

In the end I tracked through fitday and saw that my sodium had gone through the roof. I had been eating a lot of home made soup over winter and both vecon and stock cubes were really high in sodium. I cut out the home made soup and dropped the 12 pounds that I needed to get to goal over the following 6 weeks. I had been retaining a lot of water and never realised it.

Since you are counting calories it would be well worth your while to double check the levels of your other nutrition to see if the same is happening for you.

I dont get time to get around the diaries any more - not even my own which is long abandoned. I do hang out in the challenges section and on facebook so I am back more than I was....

I hope that your exams went well.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Not been here in a long while, back on slimming world and currently 11 stone 1lb which is my lowest ever weight.

I have set my target at 10 stone 3lb so hopefully I will be there in not so long!

Still stuck at 11 stone! still at slimming world and trying to shift the last few pounds. So close now but I'm really struggeling. Hopefully will be at my goal soon!

I was in a similar situation last winter. Do check the last few pages of my diary. There are some great challenges kicking off on ANOTHER DIET FORUM that could really help you sort things out.

I really think that it would be worth you giving it a go. I am sure that we could motivate you to get that last little burst of progress that is all you need.

BTW - do you like the avatar. You can check my album for the big picture. As a SW person you will recognise it. I "came out" to my leader last summer about my full weight loss and she couldnt have been more understanding and supportive. When I got to target she insisted on giving me the awards for my full progress...

It's great that you are down to 10st11.5.. You can do that pound and a half in no time if you focus. Then you will get that next sticker.

December is a tricky time - but it neednt be too bad. I plan on making a scan bran Christmas bran cake. Last year someone brought one to our Christmas party and it was well worth getting. I have bought the scan bran and mincemeat ready to make one for this Christmas season. I'm not making it too early though. I will just keep eating it and having to make another all December long...

I have found a brilliant recipe for mince pies using filo pastry from WW. I will not know the syns until I buy the bits because I will have to make them to know the composition - but once I know that it should feed into the SW calculator. It is very low on WW points and they are based on cals and sat fat. Since syns are based on cals, sat fat and protein I think that they will be low syn and low calorie too.

I loaded both the recipes up on ANOTHER DIET FORUM in a couple of the challenge recipe threads.

I've just spent some time reading through my old diary, I haven't been here for over a year and feel like I really needed the motivation.

I actually managed to get down to under 10stone 7lb and was so close to my target but I managed to put 3 stone back on ARGH! and so I didn't quite get there.

My mum passed away in October last year and so that completely through me off track and I was just eating whatever was available (usually takeaway, chocolate etc).

Anyway, since re-joining I've lost 13lb so I'm pleased with that. I really feel like I'm following the plan properly this time, i.e. cooking from scratch, drinking more water, eating less crap etc.

I have an updated ticker tape which goes from my starting weight when I first joined slimming world 16stone 3lb down to my target weight of 9stone 3lb. I've never known myself to weigh 9 stone, at an estimate I was probabaly about 8 or 9 years old!

I've based it on the fact that when I was 10 and a half stone, I was still in size 16 jeans and a size 14 top. Ideally I'd like to be a comfy 14 on the bottom and a 12 on top, but i'll re-evaluate my goal once I get closer.

So here I am again, hopefully this time is the last time I will need to lose this weight!
