Beagle's New Journal

I can't remember what brand they are, but its plain yogurt, a bit of granola, and chunks of strawberry. I like them much better than the chocolate granola bars I was having before! But then again, chocolate is not my weakpoint :p

Hi Beagle! :) That dvd DOES sound intersting. It looks like a lot of fun when I've seen it on tv. Hope all has been well with your day. Keep up the good work :)

Alright so official food summary of the day:

Tuesday food: 865
Breakfast - 165
- yogurt cup - 90
- chopped apple - 75
Snacks (throughout) - 300
- fruit bar - 150
- banana - 100
- mini carrots - 50
Dinner - 400
- small caesar salad - 150
- grilled chicken breast - 250

Oh good, I still have some leeway for an after-work snack, which is good because I will be up soooooo late, I will need the sustinance!

I don't now how you do the late hours, but good for you!! :D Maybe its because I'm getting to be an old lady.. who knows!! :D Your food looks great.. keep it up buddy!! :D

Oh hey Beagle! I've got another ab exercise for you when you're ready!! :D Just to add variety and work your lower abdominals..
My trainer gave me a new one to do, which isn't so bad.

Leg Lifts:
Easy - lay on your back with knees bent.
Lift legs towards chest, knees still bent.
Lower your feet down towards the floor, but do not put your feet down on the floor.
Lift legs towards chest, and repeat.
Note: if laying on a hard service attempt putting your hands underneath your lower back/butt for ease of any back strain.

Harder:
Same exercise but put legs straight out. Lift them up half way and lower them as far as you can tolerate. Then lift them again half way.

They DEF work the lower abs. Ooh I felt the burn this morning! :D

Blaaar, this is not a good morning. Well, it wasn't a good night more like it. Josh and I got into a bit of a tiff (over the STUPIDEST thing!), and then I overcompensated and grabbed a couple slices of really greasy pizza :( So that was like 800 calories right there - that means that today I need to keep it under 900 calories to make up for it. Hopefully it won't be too hard since I did it yesterday.

I will definitely try those new situps you suggested when I get home from school, NewLeaf! Hopefully my mood will improve by then, or it'll improve it for me :)

Hi Beagle. I hope your day turns around for you!! Next time try and stop yourself from grabbing the pizza, and work out instead to take out your frustrations. Or you could write out your vent on some paper or type it out. Then toss it away. Or give your self some "cool down time" and then discuss thingsout with Josh. You'd probably feel much better settling things with Josh than that greasy pizza left you feeling. :D Good luck girl!! :)

Oh, yeah, I should have mentioned it... we got it sorted out before going to bed, but there were definitely some hurt feelings that couldn't be taken back. It was about 90% my fault because we were doing something that was meant for both of us to enjoy together in our video game, but I really wasn't. I kept it to myself for a while, but then I fell asleep out of tiredness and boredom, and when I got woken up, I said what I was feeling, but much harsher than was necessary. Then he felt bad, and I felt SUPER bad for being so mean to him... we said our sorries to each other but it kind of ruined the whole night.

That's what most of our fights are about, when we do actually fight - I usually keep my full feelings about something inside so that I don't hurt his feelings or come off as a big bitch, but then it all comes out at once in a great big melodramatic episode and makes things worse than they would have been if I'd just spoke my mind in the first place. You'd think I'd learn by now to be more open (though in all fairness, these episodes don't happen nearly as often as they used to, because I'm pretty certain I'm at least getting better at being open).

Anyways, off the therapists couch (though thanks for listening/reading!), here's my food for the day:

Wednesday Food: 1090

Lunch: 350

- 2 KFC drumsticks: 630

I know exactly how you feel about holding things in and then blowing up later when you finally can't contain it any longer. I used to do that frequently, but it didn't get me anywhere. Not to mention, my FH knew to keep nudging me to open up about things. He knew when not to stop inquiring if something was wrong etc. So eventaully I would talk about it, before it built up. And now I pretty much discuss everythin gwith him from the get-go. My gosh its such a relief on our relationship!! :) It makes a big difference. But its a slow process.. its hard to get out of old habits... but you'll probably sound a lot nicer if you express yourself from the start of those emotions, than later on.. :) so... wella tleast you learn after the fact what the problem is.. so its a start to not doing it in the future.. but its not easy.. :) Gla dto hear you did sort things out though!! :)

Ahhh, that's both major assignments done and out of the way! Such a weight off my back (and this last one was actually a little fun to write because I got to say what I really thought about the reading!).

Now, I need to start studying for the two-point-five midterms I have next week (one is a two-parter) so that I don't have to study on Valentines day (though I'm a bit bummed that one of the exams is on Valentine's day, which means I can't skip the whole day to celebrate without worrying about interruptions).

Oh, I also got another 20 minute Turbo Jam workout in today before starting on my homework (I think it helped me focus too), and I'm off to get a bit of biking and situps in before bed!

Congrats! :) Glad to hear you completed those assignments. And you even snuck in exercise too. Way to go! :) Good luck on those midterms.. I know they're not fun, but you can do it! :D

Wouldn't it just be great if the professor could just *trust* that I know the subject matter? Or if maybe I could "negotiate" my grades with the assistance of peanut butter cookies and maybe a few $20 bills... lol, wishful thinking. ;)

This morning I did situps before leaving for school. I was able to get in 40 each of the upper and lower abs (regular situps, and 'reverse' situps where I pull my knees to my chest rather than vice versa - thanks for the tip!). I actually think I could have gotten in at least one more 20-rep on each, but I was really short on time. I mean, I felt the burn in my ab muscles, but it was gone within a minute. Maybe tomorrow I won't sleep until 20 minutes before I need to be out the door :p

I'm going to see how much energy I have after work tonight, but I am considering doing another Turbo Jam (they are really fun once you get the choreography!), and possibly getting Josh to do it with me - or at least spot check me to make sure my back stays straight.

I didn't pack a lunch today because Josh and I are meeting for lunch, I'm thinking some turkey wraps since there's a good wrap/pita place very close by.

Thursday Food: 1280
Breakfast - 280
- two slices toast w/margarine: 150
- fruit bar: 130
Lunch - 550
- chicken BLT pita wrap: 600
Dinner - 400
- 6" pizza sub (onions and mayo added) - 400

Water: 75oz

LMAO! That is so funny! Hmmm.... I never thought of that. I made some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and took to a class once last semester when I had to do a presentation (you know, butter them up since I am up in front of all of them speaking), and everyone loved them.

Hi ya Beagle!! :D I think greasing the "grading hand" is a great idea!!! LOL Ya never know what might help!!! :D Great job on sneaking in exercise!! hehehe Keep up the awesome work! BTW, yes motivation is a viscious cycle. Its one of the ones I LIKE reapeating ! hehehehehe

So, today should be spent studying, but instead, I am going to take a night off, and the hardcore studying will begin tomorrow! I think I am going to be doing situps in the morning and right before bed from now on since they don't seem to stress my body out too much (ie sweating, panting). I also found a neat way to work the side abs (obliques?) with the roller - I just turn my hip on its side, but keep my shoulders on the ground (so I'm twisted), and then do regular situps! I have to fold a towel to go under my hips to make it a bit more comfortable, but otherwise, its all good stuff :)
