The Antlers - girls weekend - Part 1

Well, we pulled off the surprise! She was at home working in her study at the front of the house, and her husband did not want her to see her friends coming up the walk to get her, so he uh *enticed* her to the back of the house. They were in the middle of...... when the doorbell rang. She didn't want to get it, so he had to fess up that it was her neighbors coming to whisk her away. This was in Flower Mound.

He included a CASE of wine and liquor when packing up his wife. Oh dear.

Three of us Houston gals packed up Friday morning and got to the house first. It was very cute, on the river. Here's the place:

There's a house there that was used to film the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but we'll cover that later in the story.

The Dallas girls arrived as we were putting up decorations. Every time we heard a noise, we thought it was the guest of honor. We'd hide, giggle. It was silly and fun. Oh and we broke out some wine.

It was a special moment when she finally arrived. One friend was teary eyed. Guest of honor was laughing. Everyone hugged. As she said, "It's weird seeing all my lives overlap". Friends from HS, college, work and neighbors.

Drinking, talking, laughing commenced. I put out the appetizers to rave reviews (pats self on back). We didn't eat dinner until almost 9pm, we were having fun and just didn't notice the time. I don't know how I got the meal out, as I was a wee bit polluted by then. But everyone said it was good. I burned my hand a little on the oven door.

Okay, more later. My entries get SOOOOOOO long. This one is long enough.

Oh, and there were some very interesting stories told/shared. Can't tell them here on my PG-13 diary.

Hey Patty!
Weekend sounds beautiful, nothing like girlfriends and a case of wine! :p Can't wait to read part 2.

Juicy story to come. Kids had off school yesterday, so we were playing.

At the moment I just wanted to update my ticker. My weight has dropped again. I can't explain why after 14 weeks it is suddenly moving, but I'll take it.

Geese Patty!!

You definetly inspire me!! What was your starting weight?? I need all the boosting I can get cause boy the scale or inches seem like they never move for me!!

Thanks you guys for stopping by and for offering your congrats.

pequin and ohd, you two always make me smile.

T2 you are such a dear to me.

M2M you and I are of like mind on the exercise. It's not just a lifestyle change or on a todo list, it is something I actually WANT to do each day.

I don't think my husband gets why I've been spending a bit of time on this forum. He gives me a little grief about it. Sure we have friends and family who support us "on paper" but in truth tend to sabotage us or at the least tire of hearing us talk about it.

Here we have cheerleaders, people encouraging each other, kicking each other's butts when necessary, joking about otherwise (sometimes) painful topics, and sharing life's ups and downs in general. It's like family, a community. I come here for a pick-me-up or to extend a hand.

Went out with friends last night (stay at home/work at home mom, doesn't get to do that enough). Was out late. Got in a bit of a tiff with husb before I left and we had a big blow out when I returned. We were up until 4am. I'm tired. Overslept and missed walking with my friend.

Have been tired and upset and busy all day.

Have a meeting to go to tonight. Don't want to though. Need to go do homework with dau now, just got her started.

Wanted to quick post here first. I don't know, just wanted to share I'm having a rough day.

Life and it's ups and downs..... *sighs*
