The Antlers - girls weekend - Part 1
Well, we pulled off the surprise! She was at home working in her study at the front of the house, and her husband did not want her to see her friends coming up the walk to get her, so he uh *enticed* her to the back of the house. They were in the middle of...... when the doorbell rang. She didn't want to get it, so he had to fess up that it was her neighbors coming to whisk her away. This was in Flower Mound.
He included a CASE of wine and liquor when packing up his wife. Oh dear.
Three of us Houston gals packed up Friday morning and got to the house first. It was very cute, on the river. Here's the place:
There's a house there that was used to film the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but we'll cover that later in the story.
The Dallas girls arrived as we were putting up decorations. Every time we heard a noise, we thought it was the guest of honor. We'd hide, giggle. It was silly and fun. Oh and we broke out some wine.
It was a special moment when she finally arrived. One friend was teary eyed. Guest of honor was laughing. Everyone hugged. As she said, "It's weird seeing all my lives overlap". Friends from HS, college, work and neighbors.
Drinking, talking, laughing commenced. I put out the appetizers to rave reviews (pats self on back). We didn't eat dinner until almost 9pm, we were having fun and just didn't notice the time. I don't know how I got the meal out, as I was a wee bit polluted by then. But everyone said it was good. I burned my hand a little on the oven door.
Okay, more later. My entries get SOOOOOOO long. This one is long enough.
Oh, and there were some very interesting stories told/shared. Can't tell them here on my PG-13 diary.
