Back again......hopefully for longer this time!!!

Another week gone and another Weigh in, and I have lost 7 pounds what I'm pleased about as I was expecting a 1 or 2 pound loss, due to my knee, I still got out for a walk 3 times though, knee still playing up but seems a little better than a week ago, still way to cold to go swimming and not looking good for the next 2 weeks.

I"m not sure how much you are swimming but i think you will find most of your weight loss is from reduced calorie intake rather than the exercise.

Given your weight, you are probably better off not doing any exercise on your knee until you are down quite a bit. Its just too much strain on your joints.

They do this on the cohen diet (see the thread in the next section of the forum). I think it makes a lot of sense. But if you want to do some exercise, you could sit in your chair or stand with feet apart and lift small weights. Or do some simple yoga poses. (you could look on you tube). Doing these things daily and often will build your muscles and get your blood circulating without causing injury. But mostly exercising at home is boring and we tend not to keep up with it.

As you lose weight, you should redo your allowed calories. I can't find that bit about how many calories you have to eat to maintain but you could afford to cut that by 1000 as your daily intake, i reckon.

I'm not going walking for at least a couple of days now, I did the calorie intake few months ago and it come up as i needed about 4-5000 a week to maintain, what is absurd and even taking 1000 off I coundn't eat that much healthy food[easy eating junk :D] I have been eating for the last couple months 2100-2500 a day, what feels right, i dont possibly know what I could add to up it, I have thought about this being a problem in the future when I "hit the wall" but what I'm planning on is by then I will be able to do alot more exercise.

WEll that's the point of recalculating what you should be eating. Because this allowance is based on your height and weight at hte time of the calculation, as you lose weight, this 2100-2500 will be come too many calories and you will need to lower it. I suppose i am eating about 1500 a day. This is about what i have to eat to lose weight.

If you are eating healthy food and think you are eating enough, I wouldn't bother about eating more, to be honest. You got here by drinking i think you said and since you are not doing that, it makes not sense to replace all that drink with food.

Perhaps you should figure out what your base metabolic rate is. I can't figure it out for you because i don't think you have listed your height. What is your height? and current weight now?

Weigh day was on monday and lost another 7 pound, not been on this week as a friend come over and not had much time to get online

Didn't go for a walk last week, as I tried to rest knee, did 40 lengths in the pool other day and going in today as well, took dog out yesterday, had my first treat meal in over a month since being out in Spain, had egg and chips so see what the scales say tomorrow, caught a bug from somewhere and feel like crap, but going to go in pool still try and liven up abit.

Lost 3 pounds this week, and reached a mini milestone in reaching 50 pound lost so far

Did 50 lengths yesterday

Still feel ill, but hopefully will be better soon, knee still giving me jip

Weather looking good from tommorow onwards, so hopefully get swimming more for the last few weeks I'm out here.

That day again - lost three pound

Did swimming over the weekend, felt good, just about over the illness, and most importantly still not had any beer.

Well after my near waver and thought about a drink the other day, I feel in a lot better frame of mind today and going to go have a swim inabit :)

Thanks :)

Weigh day yesterday and lost another 5 pound this week :)

Went Ronda today Walked a fair bit, but so worth it, love that place!

Done another 10 lengths in pool making 70 today.

Leaving Spain in couple weeks, going to take a week or so driving back to UK, then got to keep going strong and not fall back to bad ways.
