ashanta's fat girl journal

"YES, this is not some temporary weight loss for a small goal! This is where I turn my life around and stop yo-yo dieting, and make wise food choices for the rest of my life!!"

Like you I am definetly turning my life around. I figured the secret is to build up lean body mass. So I hired a CPT that I plan on training with when I reach my next goal of 135 (hopefully by JUNE 1-fingers nervously crossed!!)

Good luck with the personal trainer... Hope they give you what you're looking for...

I had hired one for a few sessions and it really was a waste of money - i read the same magazines she did and she pretty much took me thru those routines...

Down 7.4 lbs!! I am now half-way to my next goal of 135lbs and half-way to my inches lost goal!!

TRANSLATION: I lost almost 50 pounds since december!!

I can't believe how fast this has happened. One of the best things is that my skin is staying tight. And I owe it to The Firm workouts (the ones with the incline steps). I just went through my daily journal and realized that I burn more weight with those workouts than with my elliptical alone. Most likely because they mix aerobics and weights in their workouts. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Just began reading this book that is seriously changing my perspective on my life and health. It's a free download so if you would like a copy click here:

If you're on a slow connection you might want to right click and "save-as"

Ok back to work :)

ewwwwwwwww.. was she certified?

i want someone to blame if i gain weight again ;)

Down almost 3 pounds of fat and gained 1% water this week.

And just finished reading the book. That was a good book.

I'm doing the colon cleansing:

And buying myself pants all in a size 4- my goal and pants so i know i have to fit in to them.. pants don't lie!!

He makes excellent points and I hope you all are reading it. PLUS it's a free download.

i tried to look at the pictures, but the link wouldn't work for me! :(

but judging what i'm reading, you are dong awesome!!! :D

congratulations!!!!

hi daiseeangel- thank you very much! you're doing pretty good yourself!

i'm not very computer saavy.. i tried to upload better pictures with weight- didn't work.

but I'll upload another set with the old ones soon!!

Haven't updated in a long time. So here goes.

I'm not "over-sized" anymore. Can't and don't want to remember being that way. The other day I walked by a full lenght mirror in a store and had to look twice! I didn't recognize myself!!

Happy news: without even realizing it, I have eliminated ALL artificial foods from my diet. In my initial posts I mentioned Walden Farms products. But guess what? I haven't used them in weeks and just tossed them. Wasted money but beats wasting my body!

Also, doing maleficent's april challenge which has helped me stay the course (thank you maleficient) so far I wanted to cheat 2 times but didn't ;)

I sort of took April off but still managed to lose 9 pounds.

I'm getting back on track with my nutritionist and hopefully will be at goal by the end of July.

Thank you, guys!

I think the way I view food is changing. I'm eating when I'm hungry and not grazing all day long ;)

Also, most of my food/fuel comes from RAW food like fruits and veggies as well as lots of sushi!!

My cravings have also changed. I never go into a drive thru which used to be my weak spot. I spend time making my own meals. Much healthier!

wow! thats so inspiring!!
First of all congragulations, thats a huge success! But If you were just having vegan food, from where did you get all those protiens??? From dairy??
Please share some more about your diet details!

Thank you!!

I had mostly raw vegan. But not all. My protein does come from the milk.

Also, I'd like to say that my diet was supervised by a nutritionist. It's probably not safe to do it on your own. There's a wesite for them: accuweight.com

In the beginning it wasn't easy. But my mind and body have slowly become accustomed to what are REAL foods (raw and vegan). To learn more about this go to:
living-foods.com
rawguru.com
read articles by dr. herbert shelton:

There is also a link to a free ebook in this diary somewhere about nutrition and one-ingredient foods-the healthiest way to eat. He also has articles on his website (i think his name is coach frank).

I hope I didn't babble too much. But it has taken me years to get to this point. I started on a raw food venture back in 2002. So it's not easy. But so worth it.

i went to the accuweight website, read every page, and i still dont get it. there's no page that says what to DO...

like, i understand it uses accupressure, but what is accupressure exactly, where do i get these beads? can they be any beads? where do i place them? when?

how is this chi gong acheived? are there exercises?

what do you eat? what are the rules? i dont get any of it!

hi, snobunny--
email them! there is also an emailing list that you can join and ask questions there but I suggest the best thing to do is email the doc or call.

It's NOT an easy program, especially in the beginning, but it does get easier after the first 10 days. The time goes by so fast and you'll never regret it!
