Anke Says: Just Do It!

I have lost 4 pounds, the weight is going back in the right direction!!! Now to keep the momentum....

I'm going to run a 4km with my group today... and another 4km on Monday. Then 5km on Wednesday for the race, hoping for a Personal Best!!!

I figure if I want to finish the 5km in 35 mins, I need to do 7 minute kilometres. They are currently 8 minutes long.

So for the 4k today, I want to run at race pace... ie: 7 minutes per km. So, the 4km should take me 28 minutes. I'm really going to push for it!!! Eeeeeee!
 
Ok, ended up doing another 5km on the road on Friday (instead of 4km) as the "coach guy said to focus on the distance, not time yet, til after my first race.

In spite of his advice, I DID notice that my previous times of 40 and 41 minutes for the 5k was down to 39 minutes, eeeeee!!!!!

Aaaanyway, decided to go for a Saturday morning run this morning (where the hell am I getting these CRAZY ideas from???) Ran 5km, 40 mins, yay!

Afterwards an old "injury" or weakness of mine reared it's head... my left ankle just got slightly sprained... no real pain, just jolts of it when weight is on foot. I've iced it, now resting it, and once it's healed I'll be resuming those darn ankle strengthening exercises I always used to do. I am hoping it will be fine for Wednesday's race.

I've also cooked up a bunch of lentils for work lunches to go with rice/veg/ whatever. So damn healthy :D

So here's to a "taking care of me" kinda week!
 
:party:......HELL YA!!!! You are doing SOOO AMAZING with your running and your dancing!!! Really really impressed and Inspired here by you!!! :D!!!! You are finally doing this!! Good for you!! ....OMG...suckssss about your injury though...I know exactly how that feels....I hope it does get better for your race....TAKE IT EASY!!!!

....I'll keep my fingers crossed.....!!! I'm so proud of you!!! Letttt's do this! :D!
 
Ok, my body is itching for exercise, but I don't want to worsen my ankle... I'm going to do some resistance and body weight exercises... WANT TO RUN!!! I'll wait til Monday though.

Almost leaving work to go running now. The day after tomorrow is my 5k... I'm going to run 5 today, and maybe a walk tomorrow.

My ankle is feeling better... have started strengthening them again.

I am determined to lose weight this week (and the next and the next) as I have just been given two of my OWN weightloss groups to run through this company I joined "Weigh-Less" (similar to weightwatchers??)

Anyway, I'm now a group leader, and I will be weighing in other women, and guiding them through this journey. There's the prerequisite of being within 2kgs of my goal weight (I am within 8kg!!!) SO TALK ABOUT A KICK IN THE BUTT FOR MOTIVATION!!! :willy_nilly:

Anyway, the job pays a little and I think it'll be fun. It's up to me to recruit new members for my one group though, which is starting from scratch, so I'll be sticking up posters and advertising any way possible in my neighbourhood in the next while. Eeeeee, so exciting!!!! :hurray:

Okay, off to go run, then belly dance, then home sweet home (MUST catch up with my new Jodi Picoult book!!)
 
Yay! I ran my 5km in 37 mins yesterday (previously 40 minutes)!!!

I am SOOOO excited to run tomorrow that I can't focus on any work!!!

Anyway, I'm eating really clean too, as I want my body in good condition for the race... funny how this works... I'm going to sign up for next month's 5k so long!

Today I run my first "Weigh-Less" group... it's an established group I am taking over, and I'm quite nervous! Also, we'll have to see if I can carry a scale in my backpack, because I ride a scooter... I'm also excited!

I lost 3lbs this week :) two good weeks in a row now!

My run went really well! It was so fun! Didn't make the time I wanted to as we had to walk in the masses for the first 1 km, but will get my 35min 5k soon! ... Maybe I'll go for a run Saturday morning again!

I am back on track! I also got some group leader training from my GL yesterday, so feeling more confident about my own weightloss groups now.

This Saturday at 10am to 11am, I'll be running my second group there... it's in a really cool little gym, run by a personal trainer... I think I want to check out the "Zen pilates" classes she offers there :)

I am determined to improve my running now and step it up. I want to work up to being able to run 10km now!!! So excited about life in general. I'm going to an agency interview today and one on Monday... I foresee great opportunities!!!

Oooooo, Valentines day tomorrow... getting my guy some cologne... and making him a card... and still trying to figure out a good food idea!

Anyway, hope you all have a lucky friday the 13th and a blissful Valentines weekend!!!

Wow you seem to be kicking but. 3lbs two weeks in a row?! GO YOU!

5km (3 miles) in 37mins?!?! Dude you're catching up to me :p I've been averaging about 30-31 mins for 5km. I haven't made any improvements in a while. GO YOU!! That's an awesome improvement.

Keep it up with the amazing running. You are doing SO well!!! :)

Thanks all for your well wishes! Saturday my weight loss group went fine... still only have one member, but a lady phoned me today, plus I'll go stick some promo stuff with my number around my area.

Going to my other group at Kyalami Estates (very fancy place!!) ...there are apparently 10 or so active members, quite excited!

On the food side, I REALLY screwed up on Sunday, just started binging... then carried on throughout Monday... I ate so much, I'm worried. Anyway, can only get back on track again, eh? Since I bunked the whole day and pretty much slept yesterday, I skipped my Monday running :(

I'm seriously thinking of how to make it up, so that's a good sign!!!

Went to my first of a handful of job interviews today... didn't really get "THAT" feeling about the company, so we'll just wait and see what comes of it!

Anyway, I'm doing my other weight loss group straight after work, and I'm contemplating a run after that... luckily got some pepper spray to run with these days :) safe and sound.

Well, picked up 600grams... not too worried though, it would have been more if I hadn't done so well the past 3 days.

Now all I need to do is keep the good streak going. Why not? It feels good :)

Going to another job interview tomorrow... going all out with preparation and outfit for this one :)

:Angel_anim: Don't worry, but also watch yourself! Have you considered calorie-counting? It sucks ass but it's the ONLY thing that works for me :rolleyes:

NEW PLAN OF ACTION:

30 DAY PLAN TO INGRAIN GOOD HABITS

GOALS:

1. No picking at skin (a little OCD-ish, MUST stop it!)

2. Weigh less than 176lbs by Day 30

3. Run Mon, Wed and Fri afternoons, 5km+. Run Tues and Thurs mornings 3km+.

4. Complete my first 10km race on 21 March in 1:20 or less.

5. No emotional binge eating

6. Follow FLYlady cleaning etc ( )

7. Practise new belly dance moves daily

DAY 1

SKIN

Kept hands away from face most of the morning, but in the afternoon into evening I kept "finding" my hands on my face or subconsciously scratching at my shoulders. I stopped myself every time I became aware of this. :) I am so unhappy with the condition of my skin, my make up (ok, it's just powder, I'm broke) doesn't even cover the terrible red scabs :( Come on skin, heal yourself!!!

EATING


Fitday - 2079 cals
Extras - 1 vodka and lime bottled drink(10fl.oz), 1 small packet of pretzels
Pretty happy with today, I want to try not to drink in the week, but when my boyfriend does, then I want to! :(
Made a delish pasta al fredo (creamy sauce with mushrooms and ham over penne/fettucine) hmmmm.

RUNNING

It rained and I couldn't go to running club, so went to the gym and ran 3km in 20mins, pushing my usual 5mph pace :) but for less time, as I only had 20mins available. Later I also did about 30mins of resistance training at home on my mat.

FLY LADY

I followed my morning routine of exercise, getting dressed and eating, as well as taking meds and packing in work stuff. This week's Zone is the main bedroom, and the task for the day was to find anything that doesn't belong there and throw it away or put it away. DONE!
Another task I did was to wash out a small rubbish bin that needed it.

BELLY DANCE

Went to class this evening, was AWESOME! Learned a new move for a tribal dance we're doing: Pelvic circle down to your haunches, then upwards figure eights coming back upwards... I'm gonna need to build some serious thigh strength and control! I practised the move during resistance training.

COMMENTS

I felt the urge to make a plan to get my exercise and I DID IT!!! Yay!
