Anke Says: Just Do It!

Anke, just got back - so sorry to hear of the hijacking, but happy you are OK. And I hear ya on the wisdome teeth - been there, had that!! I wish they had put me under, as I freaked out when they were taking them out (sounded like icecubes cracking in my mouth!!) - the surgeon said if I didn't keep still, they were going to have to physically restrain me!!

Congrats on the run, and on the no weed!! Just awesome!

After being away and drinking and eating and not exercising I feel blah and over myself, so have just started back on my healthy routine, so will join you in that.

Take care, and thanks for stopping by my diary.

Hey all!

Well went to run again yesterday (first time since the jacking 2 weeks ago) and it was SO AWESOME!!! I felt so good and capable. Even the instructor guy mentioned afterwards that I look like I'm in my zone, hehe :) And another lady in the class asked if I did ballet.... I said no, and she said "You're doing well!" Eeeeek, don't know why, but that gave me such a smile on my face :D

So I will now fall back into my Mon-Wed-Fri runs with strength workouts at home in between. I also ate healthily and within my range again yesterday for the first time since BEFORE the jacking (like 3 weeks ago... damn, it's been long). It's a little tough again to stick to the lesser amounts I'm not used to anymore, but I'll do it again today and just do my best for the rest of my life, hows that?

Oh, the weed smoking: I have stopped smoking before I go to work (I know, that's really really bad!!!) So it's ONLY in the evenings IF AT ALL. (Still working on that if at all :) )

Ok, I am off to try not to procrastinate my work day away! Thanks to all of you for your comments and support!!!

Current weight - 180.4

Goal for 8 Jan - 175

Reward upon completion - Go on a dinner date with boyfriend (we don't really do this often, due to tight finances... so if anything it's take-aways... I want to take us to Vincenzo's a nice Italian restaurant)

Thats a great effort in ya running, sometimes a break is a good thing and your body needs it occasionally :hurray:

good luck getting that routine back under control, you can do it !

That is SO cool :) I bet you're very graceful--the belly dancing has done wonders for my own freestyle dancing I must say! Glad your motivation is UP UP UP!

It certainly does! Belly dancing made me realize I CAN get out on the dance floor and not look like a complete idiot. Hell, I outdanced a bunch of 20-somethings at a coworker's party a while back... before I even started losing weight, thanks to belly dance.

Glad to see you're doing good with the workouts, Anke! And way to go on the weight you've lost so far! The smoking thing... all I have to say about that is its better as a once in a while thing instead of daily. Much like drinking... I keep it to the weekends now. The drinking that is. I don't smoke anymore, cigs or otherwise.

So yesterday I ran into my friend Mary at the store and she mentioned she wanted to join me at my running club. So we went and had an AWESOME run! A personal best, for these last few weeks I think. Anyway, it was the last running class til the 5th of January 2009. So Mary and I decided to keep up running, three times a week. We're meeting again on Friday, YAY!!! Exercise buddy!!!!

Anyway, today is weigh in day. I just had 2 rusks in my cofee (equivalent to 3-4 slices of bread!!!) But I will relax for the rest of the day. I have my healthy lunch here, and I MUST JUST go face the scale. The first challenge is to find someone to take me through to pick up my scooter, which is now fixed. At least today's Puza Thursday! (puza means "to drink" in one of our 11 official African languages :p) wahahahaha! I'll be doing some belly dancing at home tonight, I'm feeling like it badly today! The teacher gave us some little combos and some awesome new gypsy/flamenco steps to practice.

Later!

whooohoo on the personal best :D nice nice and congrats on finding someone to exercise with.
belly dancing is awesome :) and improves your general attitude :)

I had to look up what Rusks were. :ack2: Oh, I love that with coffee. I could go for some right now, but 3-4 slices of bread? I think I'll skip.

Great job on the running. :hurray:

Yey for an exercise buddy! It must be buddy day because my former exercise buddy (who then was my enemy and then again my friend) called me. She is the first person who has called me since I arrived in Africa and we had a 45 minute chat, it was really really nice!

Have a great day, a rusk or two can't do you any harm ;)! And now it is out of your system you can eat consciously for the rest of the day!

WAY to go girl!!! I'm so proud of you for not smoking before work anymore....LOL.....believe me I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM!!! LOL And way to go for belly dancing....and Running....!!!!!!!

Fantastic news on the PB in running, and awesome you now have a running buddy. My best friend back home was my 'waddling' (not fast enough to be a serious runner!) buddy, and it was great. Being here on my own and soon having to move again to Hong Kong, it's something I really miss. She would always beat me - she is like a brunette version of Nicole Kidman, except add about 25 pounds, and no surgery, but her long legs would always beat me!!

Keep going Anke!

Ok, so haven't run again since I last posted, but really want to today!!!

The first run was cancelled as we wanted to drink wine and chat instead :p

The second run rained out, and the third was missed due to lack of communication.

Guess today will be the first run!!! :D

Ugh, hate being at work at this time of year... can't bring myself to actually work, so the days can get pretty boring!

Nice job on the running! I can't wait until next week. I get some much needed time off and a new set of running shoes. oh yeah, and access to an indoor track so the shitty New England winterwon't kill me. C to 5K, here I come...

I'll be joining all you runners out here after that hopefully.

I haven't been running either! :( Too dark and cold after work, and I haven't been able to get to work early enough to take an hour lunch, let alone run on it! And the weekends it's just party party party party all night long! ;)

Hope you get your run in, run for the both of us, OK?
