Anke Says: Just Do It!

Another one here who REALLLLLLLLLLLY misses running.....it's just soooo damn cold, I cant stand it, my toes freeze, it's dark at night, and dark in the morning, and the stalkers are out, and I'm skurrrrred, and EXCUSES, I know....but I wanna make it through the winter....!!! LOL.....!!!! .....gotta get back though....:angelsad2:

I ran, I ran, woooo!

And also got my meds adjusted... feeling good today, plus it's HOLIDAY after today :D

I plan to chill at home, really get into my running routine, and get my house sorted out a little! Also want to get lots of reading done... aaaand lots of socialising!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hello everybody!!! I am back... dragging my feet along, hehe

I picked up a solid 2kg (4.4 lbs) over December, but am now ready to once again shed the unwanted weight.

My plan of action:

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I run with my runwalkforlife group. At least 25mins at this stage. If it rains out then I do 600 skips on my balcony with the skipping rope.

Mondays and Thursdays is belly dancing (yay!!!! missed it so much over the holidays!!!)

I have ACTUALLY signed up and paid for my first 5km race... it's the Irene SPAR Lantern race on 11 February, eeeek!

I have not been around this forum at all in the last month or so, so I probably won't try catch up with you guys but just pick up where I left off.
I hope that the New Year is treating you all well and that your goals for the year are on track!!! :)

Well, today is running again... hoping they'll take me up to 30 minutes from the 25 I do already... I feel ready for it... and I think then I'll be able to get to 10 laps!! (4km)

Gosh, all the lunch I brought with me today is taking up half my desk space, lol! a salad, some macaroni and cheese, and a little lowfat choc chip yoghurt... and two nectarines... Ah, I love healthy eating!

Really need to focus on getting more veggies in now... just gonna DO IT!!!!

Oh, and weigh in tomorrow... I can only pray I have maintained my weight at least... maybe a teeeeeny loss??? Or I might have gained...

I did it!!! I ran 4km in 30 mins yesterday!

So I have decided to aim for 35mins or less for my 5km race.

Weighing in later... interested to see the results, as I've been half and half :p

Anke, I'm THRILLED you seem happier and have a fantastic game plan for weight loss. Cut back on the drinks and the :sifone:, dance your ass off, and run til ya can't run no more!!! :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:

I'm proud of you :) :grouphug:

WOOOHOOO!!!!!! Good FOR YOU!!! I'm excited you are back on baby..back on!!!!!!

I ran my 4km on Friday too! Last week was the first week this year that I reached my 3x weekly running goal... and I'll do it again this week... WITH improvement.

I am so so doing okay with the eating... but I must say it's my main issues right now. Feeling a little low... a little disoriented... but going to keep doing the good things and hope the good feeling follow!!!

A quote I read today was something along the lines of:

"Don't believe what they say about motivation, it's a trap. Just do it. Lose weight, study, change careers. Perform the actiona, and the motivation to continue doing them will come."

I ran 5km for the first time yesterday. Basically my running time was increased from 30 minutes to 40 minutes. I had been running 4.2km in 30 minutes.

Yay! I'm so excited for my race on the 11th of Feb!!!!

Man, I really need to stop smoking :sifone: now and get my ass in gear at work. I got an unofficial warning about my performance yesterday... scary stuff :(

So I'm going to aim to have run 6km in 40 minutes by Friday, woohoo!!!

I think this is pretty true. Kinda the cliche "Just Do it" but it works!

ALL RIGHT!!!!

I got an unofficial warning about my performance yesterday... scary stuff :(

Hmmm, how so???

gained 6 pounds in the last 2 weeks, ugh. Been on an ongoing binge. At least I'm running. but I am not on top of this eating thing... I can't remember how I dit it before!!!! :ack2:

Hey all.

The antidepressants have kicked in :)

I am sticking to my running. So far I had only been running on the athletics field, but on Monday I "graduated" to the road... and did 5km! Man, my legs are sore... there are no hills on a flat field, hehe.

Ok, here's the REALLY good news. I've stopped feeling "hungry" (more emotional hunger) all the time. I now feel my real hunger and feel satisfied the rest of the time. I don't feel the urge to screw up my whole day's eating right at the end.

I think I'm remembering how I did this the first time round, yay! (That was when I lost 15kg in 6 months. I think I am ready for my goal weight now... 75kg (165lbs), here I come!!!

So I have 11.4 to go. (25 pounds)

I am glad I stayed on the forum and kept going to my weekly weigh ins at my group, even though I had almost given up and wasn't even posting that often. This just goes to show that when you just KEEP trying, even if you keep failing, somewhere you WILL eventually succeed :)

Oh, oh, I am feeling so womanly too lately... we've been exploring more styles of belly danced and have been choreographing a Spanish Flamenco / Arabic number. We have also been playing around with creepy Rachel Brice tribal moves... whoa! I didn't know my stomach could do that!!!

I went running with my group today and ran 5km AGAIN! WOOOHOOOO!!!!

Wishing you all the same warm fuzzy feelings I have right now! :D

Anke, I'm truly glad to hear it.

Sometime I get overwhelmed with WLF because there are so many people I wish I could actually PHYSICALLY help, somehow, and the number of Hard Times everyone faces......it's really rough for me to see women especially, get stressed out and binge away all their hard work--because I have done it, over and over again. So reading this post made me relax a little :). I'm SO happy for you and I hope that things work out better for you and stay that way.

Congrats on running an entire 5K!!!!!!!

Whoo hoo to feeling feminine!!!! Keep it up!
