Anke Says: Just Do It!

Hey all!

I had a brilliant weekend, and feel good, optimistic and enthusiastic about my life today. The eating is easier again (guess because I have no immediate stresses right now). I want to however work on my motivation and stuff to keep it up now! The less dips I have, the better I will feel.

I did not detox completely, but had WAAAAYYYY less. Good start, hehe.

Work responsibilities are starting fresh again (we work in phases, and I have completed all my tasks for the previous phase of 3 weeks!)

This next phase will take a little more discipline and commitment. I need to focus on WHY I am in this job (to gain valuable experience, to learn everything I can, to express my creativity and use my people's skills) and WHAT needs to happen for me to do a GOOD JOB (as of tomorrow: no longer than 10 minutes personal email and forums check, and only after the first task for the day has been completed)

I will plan what I will be doing the next day every afternoon before I leave for home. I will take at least one stand up and walk around outside break for 30 minutes to eat my lunch and relax.

My other goal for the next "phase" or month of my life, is to develop my belly dancing skills further. I will be having two 1hour classes again from this week, but outside of that, I would like to devote 30 minutes to drills every night, and 1 other day where I do a full dancing session.
Other exercise I would like to do is to go for walks to and from the shops when we need a few groceries, and skipping rope jumping. I want to jump rope when I get home from each of my belly dancing classes. I want to jump 500 jumps then. In the same session I want to do pushups, ab crunches and squats.

So that is 3 times dancing plus a short session everyday of dance technique practising. There's also rope jumping twice a week, and spontaneous walks for cardio, and body weight training sessions twice a week.

I think this is small enough to start with how about you guys? Is this too much to want to start taking on in one week?

I will at the very least do 2 belly dancing classes and two body weight training sessions... okay by me, but I will aim for the best I can do!

Nutrition wise, I just want to stay within my caloric range and eat mostly healthy choice foods. I will continue to drink my usual 2 litres water. I want to make a point of getting in fruit/veg/fibre and nutrient rich foods (I combine all those things in my head), so I will be stocking up on best choice foods for the month!

Another aspect of myself that I have been neglecting is the state of my wardrobe at home... I need to get that sorted... Wednesday night between 8:30 and 9:30 (my bf watches wrestling then.)

And another thing is my beauty and hygiene routine. I WILL make a point of washing my face and brushing my teeth morning and night (depending if I shower the night before or that morning). I WILL do a pampering routine on Thursday nights after dancing and exercise. Shower, shave, pluck, dye, tan, paint, exfoliate, file, clip, cut, anything that needs grooming.

Phew, so that was more like a planning session for my life in general... I think I need to figure this out a little more...

And ye, I'm still off the cigarettes :D

Glad to hear that things are going well this week. I've been hitting the jump rope myself these past two weeks and it's really been working well for me. Keep it up.

You can do it!!!!!!!!!

Damn now that's an AMAZING plan to start you off!!! :smash: Talk about whipping that butt into ACTION!!!! Good for you! Congrats on cutting :sifone: down!....it's STEPS ;) heheh :reddevil:.......BUT you are DOING THIS!!! That's AMAZING!!!! I'm so happy for you!

...and the CIGS and quitting damn GIRL, you are on a roll!!!!!!:coolgleamA:

We can have everything we want....and I often look and realize that the only person getting in between me and utter happiness of attaining my goals...is me!!!! :ack2:.....Well it sounds like you are sick of the OLD you too, as I am too....I think this is an amazing phase to be in.....as long as we use this time to REFOCUS and actually DO WHAT WE SAY we are GOING TO DO, not just SAY THEM!!! :angelsad2:.....

....I've been doing this for a long time too....not anymore, how bout you MISSY!?!?! :jump: ....OH yessss....21 days of NON DRINKING OVER HERE!!! YAAAAAY!!! You motivate me to push it further, take the NOTCH up a bit and EXPECT a LITTLE MORE FROM MYSELF!!!....new game plan!..:iagree:

Congrats on no cigarettes! That is a feat within itself and you should be very proud of that... The :sifone: in moderation is another story for sure but cutting out cigarettes and all the awful shit in them is terrific. I'm proud of you for that :)

You have to remember to take care of you. I think your beauty regime is a great thing to start doing. I know when I take care of myself on the outside it makes me even more confident. I smile bigger and brighter and stand taller and am open to more. Between that and the belly-dancing that I know you love, I think you'll be feeling a lot better about things :)

Hey Sam, thanks for stopping by!

Alta and Annie, thank you, you are my cheerleaders!!! hugs!

I'm getting really organised now, and it feels good.

Tonight I'm cleaning out my wardrobe... anything too big is going... or it's going into the "to be altered" bag. I need serenity around me to feel it for myself!!!

Belly dancing on Monday was awesome!

Life is beautiful. :smilielol5:

ENERGY/TIME SUCKERS

I have realised that if I want to get the things done that I say I want to, I am going to have to springclean my time/energy usage for the things that are impotant to me. In actual fact, I use these activities to hold myself back from my goals and that is senseless if I want to get where I want to be.

Catching up with forums at work is being stopped as of today.

I realise now, that however helpful my forums are to me, I use them to sabotage my work. I am drawing the line for myself now.

I will only post and catch up on forums after hours, from my personal computer at home.

Luckily I don't spend more than say 30 minutes altogether in a day on emails, so I don't need to set a limit there.

I started a new good habit at work this morning (consciously :) )

I sat down at my desk and did not check personal emails or anything of the sort, until I had completed a good section of the tasks I had for the day. I want to implement this daily... To get started the moment I come in. I can always take a browsing break later if I need it.

Now... browsing breaks... I will award these to myself for difficult/tiresome tasks completed. I CAN NOT go to forums during this break, as it sucks me in. I can research something educationally relevant to my job/life/interests, with a time limit of 30 minutes per browsing break.

So, I sit here at work typing this out, procrastinatingly sabotaging myself and my work for the last time.

Another time sucker is television. I want to make a point of only watching things I want to watch (sometimes I'll just zone out no matter what's on to pass the time lazily).

The other thing I will implement is to try and combine watching television (when I decide to watch it) with another activity such as painting my nails, planning my schedule, exercising etc.

Man, where is all this good stuff coming from??? :ack2:

So what do you guys think? :seeya:

Wow! Way to go girl! I know you'll follow through with this, you're so great!

:D

Awesome work!

One of the best ways I've ever heard of it being stated. Spring cleaning your time/energy usage. Great concept (he says as he writes in the forum at work).

Hehe, so I am indeed sitting here at work typing this, but only because I'm leaving for the dentist at 3pm and I am done with my work for today, I decided to award myself the time off :p

I AM however getting the things done that need to be done first, before I relax. Kicking procrastination's butt I say!

Anyway, I'm weighing in this evening, and I've been pretty good all week. I'm expecting a loss, who knows how much...? :willy_nilly:

Thanks for checking in on me guys. I am so busy lately I haven't had time to read up on all your journeys. I promise I'll schedule in a catch up session sometime soon!
:hurray:

Hey all.

Weighed in last night and I lost 2.6 pounds this week, yay!!! Brings me to a new low, and only 10.5 pounds to go to my first goal weight! :hurray:

Went to the dentist. I have to get my two bottom wisdom teeth taken out soon. My bro had all four taken out yesterday, shame!

On another note, today I get this call telling me I've won a prize and I must come to the draw, bring my partner, etc. After some googling I discovered it to be a popular scam run by a holiday timeshare company. Bummer (was picturing the new car / ipod / GPS)

Aaanyway, it's FRIDAY!!! Woohoo!!!! My boyfriend said something yesterday "I think this whole thing, us living together, is going to work". This is after all the hassles we've encountered and worked through. I am so glad that he believes we can make it (as I do too) ... as you can probably tell, he doesn't say things like that lightly :)

I have not exercised all week but for dancing. SO... I have a plan... there are a few dances that I now know off by heart. Dancing them over and over is enjoyable PLUS really DOES get your heart pumping. So instead of trying to schedule in some sort of cardio/ body weight plan for this next week, let me try to schedule in two dancing sessions (outside of my two classes).

I just need to figure out when to do it... Mornings I can't play the music before work. Evenings the television is on, but maybe if I speak to Glenn (my boyfriend) we can agree on an hour session twice a week where I get the lounge (the only space big enough). I'm thinking doing one session over the weekend is a good plan... more free day time.

Ah, life is good.

CONGRATS ON THE NEW LOW!!!!!! I really like your dance routine idea. Gotta get the workouts in somehow, right? Better to do something you love, it'll keep you happy and motivated, yeah? :D

haha that's great what your boy friend said! I bet it makes you happy!

YAY TO A NEW LOW! I'm there this week too! :D

<3 Annie :willy_nilly:

WOOOHOOOOO!!! Congrats on the weight loss! Glad to see things are working out with you and your boyfriend living together too. :hurray:

Hey! Thanks for all the messages!

Yeah, I've been shimmying and figure of eight - ing about our place since yesterday... and I learned how to do some freaky cool snake arms by using your back muscles to roll your shoulders.

I got up early this morning and did a big clean of the house... damn, what a workout!!

Ooooo, made pancakes and I had one with peanut butter, fried banana, syrup and cinnamon sugar... mmmmmm.... small portion so all good :)

This is so cool, chilling in my own place surfing the net on a Saturday. Bliss! :D
