Anke Says: Just Do It!

It's not really cravings... it's numbly, obsessively overeating... I don't know, it doesn't matter WHAT I eat, just THAT I eat. It's totally a self sabotage thing. I get myself chocolate once a month "officially" and I DO allow myself a decadent treat every so often... so I don't think that's the issue.

Things to do instead of the binging

- get in bed and read
- watch a movie or series on tv
- have a hot shower
- brush my teeth
- have tea/decaf coffee
- go stand and look at my vision board in the study to remind me where I'm going.
- belly dancing moves
- stretch
- skip/exercise in general
- draw
- write in my journal
- work on some stuff from work at home
- clean house
I like this....I have noticed that at nights.....WHOOOA :reddevil: the devil comes out!!! SOMETIMES it's ridiculous....I'll walk to the fridge....OPEN it....grab something....walk back when done...don't see NOTHING....then walk back and DO IT again a couple minutes LATER, as if SOMETHING NEW is all of a sudden gonna POP OUT and SCREAM "EAT ME, EAT ME!"...then SURE enough....if I open and close it enough times.....WHALA I get an IDEA......of something to eat that I could whip up.....but....you see.....WHY DO I LOOK FOR IT....HUNT for it!!! :smilielol5:....these past couple days instead of doing that.....I have been trying like you said in YOUR LIST....exercise...walk...do something other than EAT at night!....WE CAN DO THIS WOMAN!!! ;)
 
my gawd, I don't normally, but this morning I HAD to because traffic was wearing on me and 3 cars almost smashed into me stupidly--good thing I was on top of my game and avoided them :svengo:

Oh Anke my homegirl here does a really awesome hula hoop dance--she actually studies Hula in HI--she has lived on Biggie for 8 years--I think she is an amazing dancer--she has belly danced for a while, too. And another Leo! :D

I've personally never found the fun in it. I have a very addictive personality, so I have to know when to "just say no"... haha

Ugh, smoked too much of that crap in my misspent youth. :ack2: Did too many of the other substances too. :ack2::ack2:

Detox is good! Look in to getting some Milk Thistle at your local health food store (if they carry it there?). Also known as silymarin. Supposedly good for helping to cleanse the liver. I take some every day as part of my vitamin/supplement regimen. If you want to research it a bit first, I just googled 'milk thistle' and got some good links. I know I like to research an herb or vitamin when somebody recommends it and I'm not familiar with it.

So, Wednesday is a holiday here in SA... Heritage Day.

I am however also off today... feel like a lazy ass... pretty much bunking work... :banghead:

Hey, Anke. What's going on in SA? I heard that the PM was fired? How does that happen? Also, all these officials resigned in protest? We're a bit starved here in the states for news that affects people other then ourselves.

It's a bit of a shift in parliament due to rifts in the national ruling party. Not too much to worry about I don't think... guess we'll see!

Okay, so I am in major sabotage mood in the last month... but this time there's no throwing in the towel. No matter how many heart wrenching binge sessions I must live through until I no longer need them.... I WILL take care of my body damnit! Even if it subconsciously doesn't want to take care of itself!!!

Lay off the :sifone:, get the BF to support you, go to bed early, schedule your workouts and dance session and GO TO THEM, do some relaxation techniques without any chemical aid, and eat a hearty salad every day. If you DO all these things, you will get the results you desire--you can count on it. It's all YOU, baby--you make your own destiny and you have total power on what your body/mind/spirit can be. Just shut up and do it! :rant:

You are right... I am on my way to the sexy new me, no matter how long it takes...

I'm going away to my grandparents farm out in nature this weekend... gonna go on a hike and walks while there, maybe swim in the river. I'm also gonna detox from the green stuff.

It's my mom's 40th birthday weekend, so I'll have a few drinks with her, but basically I'll be staying calorifically on track.

My boyfriend's not coming with, so that'll be good having a little break... I think we're getting on eachother's nerves a tad! :p

As of next week belly dancing classes start again (have been cancelled for the last month) so that will help me regain focus there... I have been planning on incorporating some sort of exercise into my daily routine that I want to stick to. It can be small, but I want it to be consistent. I'm thinking of the skipping rope thing for the first week... then maybe go for short jogs or fast walks... 20 minutes or so. I'd like to do it after waking up. I would love to incorporate yoga, but do not know enough to do a full session yet... must research.

Anyway, thank you, I DID need a kick up the butt!

Here's to a "taking care of ME" week!

Anke, Still off the other smokes, you know, the nicotine filled ones? should be what about 2 1/2 months now right? I'm still on the path after 6 -7 weeks now.
