And so it begins, again.

Hey, just wanted to say hi and good luck with your weight loss journey. I am also back here after nearly 2 years away and having gained my weight back, so I'm going to have to really try hard to get back on track too. I'll keep checking in to see how your doing.

Thanks for stopping by.

I didn't end up doing cardio yesterday, it's ok though, it was my optional day.

I just got a conundrum. I'm leaving my job for a new one. Here is the catch. I am in serious dept. It was not from spending wildly it came across some bad luck that forced me to do some thing with my credit card. Anyway, the catch is, I got accepted for a job I've been wanting for years, I know I will love it but they are only giving me part time hours to start off with. Plus it's shift work to start off with. Now I know it's not enough for me to get out of dept fast like I was planning to.

I have a job interview tomorrow for a full time job that pays more, it's Monday to Friday, however, it's for something I swore I would never do again, but I can be dept free in 10-12 months if I take this job. (That is assuming I get the job)

I just don't know what to do, take the job where I'll be happy but my stress of being in dept will be much on my mind, or, bite the bullet and take a job I swore to never do again and pay my dept off in a year or less then I can go back to school and get a degree.

gah, decisions decisions.

Why don't you take the job that you will love. And, since it is only part time at first, find another part time temp job that will help you get out of debt. Then, when as you start getting more hours, or crawl out of debt, you can quit your temp job.

Don't take the job you'll hate. You might end up even more miserable in the long run, and could still possibly be in debt.

remember.... there was a time when yo uswore you would never do that type of job again.......

...reflect on where your soul was at that time, and make your decision from that.

"work to live, not live to work"

:waving:

I know, but something I guess I didn't mention. Once my dept is paid in full I can return to university and complete my degree. I will only work until my dept is paid in full, then quit and go to school. I recently moved into my parent's house to be able to pay it off faster. So I think I'm leaning toward the better money, I'll only be doing it for about a year. I want to leave my parent's house ASAP. We will see how the interview goes tomorrow then.

I just weighed myself and I lost 3 Lbs on my first week. Not too shabby. If I can lose 10 Lbs a month I'll be about 220ish at christmas, which is a goal for me.

I'm going to take the job I know I will like. I spoke to the manager and he said there will be a lot of opportunity to get more hours. Sometimes I might not, but I will most of the time.

I just finished a terrific workout. The best one yet. I went HARD on my elliptical, did a pretty good resistance on my upper body, but I think I can start stepping it up at the end of next week.

Hockey is only 2 weeks away from tonight so I really want to be able to compete. I need to jump in the shower now, I'm covered in sweat... ick

Not a bad day so far.I bought another beer kit though, still not sure when I'll start it. Maybe I'll time it so it's ready for christmas, not sure yet though.

Tonight I have my lower body resistence, then some cardio. Should be good.

I'm glad to hear that you are going to do what will make you happiest. That is an important part of your journey to lifelong health!

Glad you had a great workout! YEA for hockey. That will be so much fun. I wish they had more action here, but in the desert we only have a small minor league type team. (Not that I wanna play, but I LOVE to watch!)

Have another great workout tonight. Just remember how great you felt yesterday, and compete with yourself to do even better tonight.

Thanks, last night's workout was great.

Dlilema: This weekend is an annual party called the FUNK BOAT. Well, it's a party where we load up a paddle wheel boat with DJ's and party people and have a great time. My dilema is I will want to drink. Should I stick to hard stuff instead of beer? I'm not sure which will have less calories.

I've got all week to think about it. It will only be my second time on a paddle wheel boat so I am excited.

That's how I always think of it! I have more energy at night than in the morning and so I almost always do mine in the evening. Keep it up :auto: beep beep!

Thanks, an unfortunate side effect is that it's 3:30 am and I'm still not sleepy lol. Ohh well, short night....

These last two evenings I've been working at the youth shelter on overnights and its killing my routine...sleep wise, exercise wise, and eating.....I don't usually eat this late in the evening, but if I don't, my stomach goes crazy. I'm hoping that now that I'm back in school I will be able to get back into a better routine.

Hopefully you get some sleep lol

Sorry you had a short night! But, yes, it is good that you got that workout in. Have you decided what to do about the Funk Boat party? (which sounds really fun by the way)

I don't think that the "hard stuff" is really gonna make you feel better about not wanting to drink. Maybe, if you have to give in, you can take some light beer. Sorry, I'm not much of a drinker these days, but I remember that the hard stuff usually just led to drinking the beer anyway.

Well, darn, now that you have me curious about the actual nutrition in the alcohol...

Ok, here's what I found. (Looked up the alcohol nutrition on the daily plate.)

1oz of Jose Cuervo tequila = 69cal/0g fat
12 oz of Budweiser = 145cal/0g fat
12 oz of Guiness = 130cal/0g fat

So if you end up having 12 oz of tequila you would have 828 cal (Of course, you would probably be in the emergency room having your stomach pumped so maybe only about 600 of those cals would stay in your system... LOL!!!)

Ohh man that's a whole lot of calories..... I can easilly drink a whole bottle to myself, I have a big tolerance for alcohol. Well I can count it as a cheat day or something. Yesterday I didn't do much excersize. I guess I was feeling a bit blah, I will make up for it today.

Still too sleepy lol.

Bigreen. Can you recommend a beer kit for a beginner? And maybe a web site for supplies? I will have to get everything online because I think it is about 1.5hrs to a retailer from my house.

I'm not sure about a website, we have several retailers in my city, however I do recomend brewhouse.

There is a supplier in Alabama, maybe they will ship. Have a look at their selection. It all depends on taste but I prefer India Pale Ale, Mexican cervesa and prairie wheat.

If you need a starter kit, I have a few tips for you. Make sure you get a glass carboy, don't compromise for plastic. try to get self sealing bottles, they are a bit more expensive but then you don't need to buy a capper along with bottlecaps. Don't sanitise your stuff with the chemicals they give you in most starter kit, use Iodophor instead. It's not filled with chemicals.

Thanks. They have a place in Birmingham which is only about 45 minutes away. Is Brewhouse a type of kit or system? Or is it a name brand for supplies? I can't really tell from the site.
