Amiba's journal> it is time to make it happen.

well I am trying to focus on the ''little'' changes instead of the big picture for now
like how I feel, and if there are things that I actually like, instead of complaining of what I don't like.

the first thing that I notice is my face looks a bit slimmer. but also my collar bones are way more noticeable which I really didn't need. I hope I don't lose much on the upper part of my body or I'll look ironically skinny when I am really not :p but don't I look like a skinny white girl from that angle? haha

what you would notice the most are the tattoos anyway

the other picture shows my bike and my fitness balls. oh and my yoga mat
hopefully they will get me closer to my fitness goal. I think I am improving today I did 45 min on the bike and I didn't lose my breath at all, running is still an issue. isn't it weird?
hopefully I'll be able to run sooner or later.

I am bored!
...and watching america's next top model. those girls are darn skinny
yes that's how bored I am.

oooooooooooooo. i like the colors, your skin takes the ink well. yay.

ick @ americas next top model. blahhhhhh.

pancake.

thanks!
you should come and take a closer look :p

I just watch it for the pictures, I actually only see the last part of each chapter or when they are setting the photo shoot. what can I say, if there's an america's next top photographer I'd be the biggest fan!

yes I heard that. it's in europe too, now.

we could actually make a rhyme that includes both flu and flooding.
and why not? pancakes :bigear:

WTF Pancakes???!!!

Hello Amiba, I hope you are doing well. I got fatty again! Like a Big Bloated Monkey!!

I made Tofu n' stuff and it looks just like chicken, how odd...it sure doesn't taste that way. I wouldn't say it's too terrible, but I won't be eating it anytime soon.

I tried to do a few sit ups and I seem to hurt my neck, I don't have a yoga mat, I guess that may make a difference. I need to get some upper arm exercises in..if I had one of those big balls, I'd be too distracted and bounce around on it! :jump:

hey girls!

Cinderelly: thanks for stopping by! currently I am doing prob. 1 hour and a half a day, not so much. but my diet is weird I keep changing it to see what works :p next week I am trying a low carb, high protein diet see how it goes.

Runningirl: you make me laugh so much xD the tofu isn't supposed to taste like real chicken. it is shaped like that so you would try to trick your mind but to me it tastes more like a weird flavorless cheese. I like soy hamburgers more! the fitness balls are fun to be honest I bought them to play around at first but I enjoy the workout on em.
and you are not a fatty pfff!

haha wha?? there's chicken looking tofu?? Cuz I just bought this big slab of Tofu, and cut it up, and tried to fry it. BUT I am out of Olive Oil, so I thought, what the heck I am sure I could use Soy Sauce, so I did, and than I added some other stuff, and TOOIE TOOIE!! :puke: <<this emoticon is ew.

oh this beautiful plateau of life

this week was a ''try some complex carbs'' week.
it didn't work either but I enjoyed it :coolgleamA: mmh whole grain muffins.
anyway next week is going to be a bit extreme: fruits, veggies and protein with a little light dairy only. let's see how it goes, maybe this time around I'll be able to lose a pound..maybe.

I've been sooo bored thanks to the whole swine flu -insert weird new name here- thing. everyone is in panic, covering their mouths and running from everyone who sneezes once. getting out and being treated like an ugly focus of pandemic isn't fun.
staying inside isn't fun either, so I managed to get out yesterday and went to eat by myself to a vegetarian restaurant I like. had the meal of the day: salad, green soup, vegetable steak and steamed veggies it was delicious. I brought an existential book ''the fog'' by Unamuno and stood there for a bit

even though I am not losing any weight -yet- my exercise is still going strong. yesterday I did 45 min on the stationary bike and managed to sweat quite a bit! my body thanks me for the sudden cleansing considering this is like the 10th time I've sweat in my life, for real. and a couple were induced by crazy machines (my experimental mother trying to have a SPA that just didn't work)

I am about to do another workout on the bike and a bit of arm work as well.
next week I am adding more pilates and I am starting to look gym options. I think this whole exercise at home isn't fully working without the proper training and I better invest in a gym for a couple of months, maybe during the summer because I'll have a bit more time to exercise and focus on my social service- hopefully-

I received an opportunity to go back home -Cozumel- due to the swine flu deal and not have to be here for the last period. that would be amazing because I have great grades from the past partials and that would basically be my final grade. I think it is the only good thing that came with the swine deal and I might take it. what do you think? wait for things to cool down a bit. all the mouth covering is freaking me out!

anyway I am ready to work on the bike
I'll report soon,
xoxo

Hey girl,

I'm sorry you have to deal with all the swine flu mess! I hope all your friends and family are okay.

Congrats on the final grade though :)

that's the idea, well not totally personal that would be too expensive, but I am aiming for classes where I can be taught what to do. found this great gym not too far from home, I like the whole approach. they have many classes and I only have to check how much it would cost me.
I think I am going back home after all. it will be nice to get to see them and relax on the beach for a couple of weeks! and yeah I am such a geek I have a 4.0 GPA I deserve a little cheat !:p

Oh hun your in mexico that must really suck to be where you are now. We here abt it all over our news and even our clincs are posting warnings and notes abt it, im in b.c LOL.

Hey if ya have great grades and can reap some rewards from it then i say go for it!!!Why the hell not.

What are ya doing in school?

SO I see you are experimenting and stuff, do you have a hard time loosing weight.

Man if ya need a shoulder for that one, I cant loose. I dont usually loose and not much. Only if I eat perfect non stop and exercise like a crazy woman and the exercise i have been doing lately isnt enough. But I cant make diet and exercise my whole life, I work nights and have kids to take care of and spend time together.

I dont think there is anyhtign wrong with exercising from home but I think variety is key:) Keeps ya from getting bored and then you arent reworkign all the same muscels all the time:D

it's been an uneventful weekend so far

I got up late, like every day :blush5: had some fruit with cottage cheese and a slice of whole grain bread.
I've noticed that I am getting regular/ at least my bowel is getting the tip, and this week I was able to get at almost the same time to the bathroom. first time that ever happens to me which means there are changes going on in my body already.

I am not going to exercise today, Saturday is my free day. it is also supposed to be my cheat day but I already took yesterday, in a light way though: light bubble milk tea, fat free popcorn and a whole grain muffin.

I might walk for a bit as I have some grocery shopping to do but nothing extreme. I am thinking more and more about the opportunity to save money and join a gym instead, use the bike the days I can't go or something.

this place sounds great: Bally fitness
they have them on the US too, I love how the ''total body conditioning'' class sounds. they also have yoga, pilates, fitness balls and cycling.

I need to take my exercise and diet more seriously if I want to see some real changes, so this next week is fruit, veggie, protein and nuts week. my meals will be something like this:

Monday>
breakfast/ Mixed fruits (strawberries, pear, small banana and grapes)
with a bit of fat free cottage cheese.
green tea, unsweetened.

snack/ Nopalitos

Lunch/ Spinach salad with cashew nuts
chicken/soy with mixed veggies (zucchini, onions, peppers etc)
water or unsweetened tea

Dinner/ eggs, scrambled with mixed veggies.
water, or unsweetened tea.

Tuesday>

Breakfast/ fruit cocktail (pear, grapes, cantaloupe, pineapple)
fat free, sugar free yogurt.

snack/
1/4 a cup of raw almonds
sugar free jell-0

Lunch/
tuna salad (tuna, apple, celery and light mayo)
mixed lettuces
water

Dinner/ chicken with mushrooms
unsweetened tea

Wednesday>
English breakfast tea, light milk, splenda
fruit cocktail (pear, small banana, grapes)
fat free cottage cheese

Lunch/ light beans, chicken with veggies
veggie soup

Snack/ a handful of cashew nuts

Dinner/ fat free, sugar free yogurt
and dried fruits.

the rest days will be the same food just combined a little different. I wish I had a crazy varied menu but I try to keep it simple so it doesn't take me a lot to cook and I don't succumb to processed meals that often. One day a week, friday or saturday I am going to vegetarian.
that's all for now, I'll report back on monday to tell you how all starts.
xoxo

actually it is not so bad! it is more unbearable how paranoid people are.
as you know Mexico is a big country and the infection started and is mainly focused on Mexico city, I live up north, close to the Texas border. we actually don't have cases of influenza- maybe one- but people are acting crazy and they RUN if you even sneeze!

actually I've always had great grades since I started 3 years ago. straight A's so yeah I deserve :p a little compensation for the hard work haha
My mayor is in visual arts and media, focusing on photography. Actually I want to go to Boston at some point and study a minor in fine art photography

Yes I am having a very hard time losing weight! Ironically when I wasn't trying, eat normally and exercised 3 times a week only at a curves gym I lost the first 10 or so pounds, it took me around 4 months tho so maybe I should just continue and stop caring. I understand what you mean of not being able to live in a constant perfect diet an exercise routine, that is crazy!
hopefully by adding variety with a gym and cutting some of my carbs I'll manage to see some changes.
xoxo!

Have you worked out how many calories you need and how many calories you are eating each day ?
