AmbaLove is Tracking the Journey!

That poor kid, that is just hideous. I cant imagine how they have enough to take the kids away but not enough to prosecute a child molester who will now being going after more kids. He's not going to stop. Just sick of the system to let him get away with it!

It is a shame about the classroom damage - but you can understand why the child was full of anger at the world. It is all very sad. What a shame that the children cannot be together after all that.

Nice necklace.

I hope that the weather improves for you. Thank goodness we never have anything like that.

hey... just stoppin by to see how u were doing..
lol..at the pics, thats crazy..i'm glad we dont have ice like that!!!!
Well hope u have a good week!!

I would think in a situation like that the state would press charges regardless of whether or not the mom is a clueless moron. Cita is right--once a child molester, always a child molester. Makes my blood boil.

Valentines Day was good, but funny! We're so romantic at 5 years (sarcasm).

I came home from work and we cuddled on the couch and asked each other back and forth about 4 times, "What do you want to do tonight?" After that, we sat in silence and both had trouble staying awake. Finally, I said "Do you want to just take a nap?" So, we did. Woke up 4 hours later, still on the couch. We got up, ate some take-out from Quiznos and watched Leno/Letterman (We flip back and forth as he likes Jay and I like Dave, although I admit to adoring the headlines on Jay).

We went back to bed 2 hours after waking up...but didn't sleep for about 2 more hours...pretty damn perfect.

Hello dears, thanks for stopping in and for thinking of me! I have not been on lately, as work blocked all forum usuage from the network (BLAH!) and at home, my husband has had complete control over the computer to use it to write several research papers that are all due next Friday. I've literally had only 2 hours of COMBINED computer time in 2 weeks. Most of that time has gone to checking email, unfortunately!

He's gone for a few hours today, so I am actually getting to use the computer! But...it may be the last time I am around until next friday comes...

The good news is he got a new job last Friday! So, SO happy. He starts Monday. The bad news on that front is that the first 30 days are training from 3 pm-midnight 5 nights a week...since I teach from 8-4 and sleep from 11-6...well, I guess I am going to feel VERY single for a while. I'll see him only on the weekends. The only good part of that schedule is that he can still be in school during the training.

After the 30 days, the hirees all take an exam. The highest scorer picks hours 1st, and so on down the list. We are hoping he scores really high so he can choose hours that let him see me and still let him be in school.

Weight loss for February was a measly 1.8 lbs, but that's ok with me, since I had a lot of special occasions and did not control myself well at those. Also, as we had 2 ice storms, a snow storm and I had the flu (in addition to special occasions), it was not a good gym month. (Went 3 times, yikes!)

I am thinking of changing what I am doing. I may try Weight Watchers. Not because my diet is not working (when I do it with absolute fidelity, I lose very consistently), but because Weight Watchers is much cheaper than what I am doing now (like, 1/3 of the cost). Also, my best friend joined WW and it may be fun to do this WITH someone. (Dieting with her is good, but since we are not on the same plan, it makes it a bit hard.)

I know people say you can diet without paying money to lose weight, and I know that to be true. I also know without weekly accountability, I fail. My weekly dietician session is all that keeps me in line sometimes. A WW meeting could be helpful with that aspect.

I do however like the fact that what I am doing now is medically supervised (blood tests, blood pressure, measurements and body comp analysis). And I cannot argue with the fact that I did lose 30 lbs in 9 months doing this plan. (Not super fast weight loss, but consistently decent average of a bit over 3 lbs per month.)

So, I am slightly torn.

Any thoughts or advice?

Hi Amber

I am pleased that you are ok. Naturally your husband's studies have to come first.

I hope that he does well and can pick a great timeslot for the future. You will enjoy seeing him all the more for the forced seperation.

You mentioned wanting to join a challenge in my diary.

The join up threads are there for Kimberly's new challenge and also another team challenge "Summer Solstice" that is probably similar to Kimberly's last one - and hasnt started yet despite the confusing thread title.

For Kimberly's new challenge you pick your own team so contact some friends or else PM Kimberly and ask her to sort you out.
For the Summer Solstice you just put your name and they pick the teams.

I am actually seriously considering joining WW before I get my weight too much lower. I am thinking that I am always going to have a battle with my weight and it could be very useful for maintenance having one of those lifetime memberships that you get when you get to goal (as long as you stay within 5 pounds of target you dont have to pay to attend). How is that for optimism - I am envisaging myself getting to goal hopefully this year!!!!

There are benefits to you being able to do WW with a friend - but having said that - it sounds like you get an excellent service with the people who are now looking after you. I would love to have a professional body comp analysis.

Take care
Love
Margaret

I'm glad to see you're okay! :grouphug:

That's great news about H's new job. I'm sure he'll do well on the test, and get to pick some great hours.

As to the WW, I have never done it, but I know lots of women at my gym who do, and really like it. Even if you sign up for it, you can still get regular check ups from the doc, right?

I'm annoyed with your school for blocking your internet access, b/c I want you to join my latest challenge based on the Amazing Race. :( Oh well, maybe the next one. :D

I want in on the amazing race challenge! I have not missed the deadline for it, right? I already asked Tyly to be on my team, I do not see that she is on one yet...I hope she isn't. Then we'd need a third, maybe Claudia would be interested? Or Sheryl, if she ever comes back!

Kimberly, I could still go to my primary care physicain for checkups, but not the dietician I am currently working with and I do not know if my PCP offers the same services. Also, the dietician does it so regularly, I know I cannot go see my doctor that often.

Good luck with sheryl. She hasn't been around in ages. What about Jerome? He always does well in my challenges, adn sticks around until the end. He is looking for teammates.

Why couldn't you continue going to your dietician and WW? Is it the cost of both?

Yes, the cost is the problem for doing both. Plus the WW plan and the dietician's plan are not very compatible.

Jerome would be cool with me, as long it's cool with Tyly (as long as she even agress to be with me). If she has a team already, I am great with starting a team with Jerome and someone else.

I explained my dilemma to my darling husband and he says, due to him getting a check from his saved sick/leave/vacation time from leaving his other job (today was his last day!! WOOHOO!), we CAN afford for me to do both for 1 month in order to choose what I think will work best for me.

I love that man.

He says I am being so supportive with him changing jobs and not seeing each other for a month, that he can only be supportive back.
