Hello dears, thanks for stopping in and for thinking of me! I have not been on lately, as work blocked all forum usuage from the network (BLAH!) and at home, my husband has had complete control over the computer to use it to write several research papers that are all due next Friday. I've literally had only 2 hours of COMBINED computer time in 2 weeks. Most of that time has gone to checking email, unfortunately!
He's gone for a few hours today, so I am actually getting to use the computer! But...it may be the last time I am around until next friday comes...
The good news is he got a new job last Friday! So, SO happy. He starts Monday. The bad news on that front is that the first 30 days are training from 3 pm-midnight 5 nights a week...since I teach from 8-4 and sleep from 11-6...well, I guess I am going to feel VERY single for a while. I'll see him only on the weekends. The only good part of that schedule is that he can still be in school during the training.
After the 30 days, the hirees all take an exam. The highest scorer picks hours 1st, and so on down the list. We are hoping he scores really high so he can choose hours that let him see me and still let him be in school.
Weight loss for February was a measly 1.8 lbs, but that's ok with me, since I had a lot of special occasions and did not control myself well at those. Also, as we had 2 ice storms, a snow storm and I had the flu (in addition to special occasions), it was not a good gym month. (Went 3 times, yikes!)
I am thinking of changing what I am doing. I may try Weight Watchers. Not because my diet is not working (when I do it with absolute fidelity, I lose very consistently), but because Weight Watchers is much cheaper than what I am doing now (like, 1/3 of the cost). Also, my best friend joined WW and it may be fun to do this WITH someone. (Dieting with her is good, but since we are not on the same plan, it makes it a bit hard.)
I know people say you can diet without paying money to lose weight, and I know that to be true. I also know without weekly accountability, I fail. My weekly dietician session is all that keeps me in line sometimes. A WW meeting could be helpful with that aspect.
I do however like the fact that what I am doing now is medically supervised (blood tests, blood pressure, measurements and body comp analysis). And I cannot argue with the fact that I did lose 30 lbs in 9 months doing this plan. (Not super fast weight loss, but consistently decent average of a bit over 3 lbs per month.)
So, I am slightly torn.
Any thoughts or advice?
