Went to my first Weight Watchers meeting tonight, and paid for my month. Got a lot of little books, brochures and pamphlets to look over. I need to decide before tomorrow morning if I want to do core or flex plan. I am leaning toward flex, as I do not like eating from a list. But, on core, I would not have to think or track anything.
The meeting itself seemed cheesy. It did not really say anything I did not already know. The plans seemed balanced, though. The leader is nice, and has lost 110 pounds, she now maintains with the core plan.
Overall...I like the one-on-one relationship I have with my dietician better than the in-front-of-everone meetings (at least so far). I like the freedom of foods at weight watchers vs. the more rigidly structured program of the dietician. I like having my best friend there to do this with (at WW).
If I do flex, I get 28 points a day. (I feel sorry for my friend, as she just weaned her little boy and it decreased her points by 10! Yikes.) So far, I know my breakfast is going to be 8 points on flex...and I would need a different breakfast for core, as my cereal of the moment is not a core food (Special K cinnamon and pecans, which is freaking amazing, suprisingly, as I hate special K).
I think I will start with flex, as I have quite a bit of stuff in the house I cannot eat on core, that I do not want to have go bad. If I stick with WW and want to do core next month, I can plan to grocery shop for core foods.
