AmbaLove is Tracking the Journey!

I did go to the gym tonight. I did 10 minutes of stretching, lifted for 25 and then took my 60 minute yoga class, for a total of 95 minutes. I am going to drop this yoga class after the 8 weeks I have paid for. I just don't enjoy it like I did my other yoga class. I may take a Zumba class next quarter.

Well done on getting the gym and doing a good session, Zumba would be a fun class to join, i go to a dance-aerobics class its great you go to the level you want to work at and as it improves you put more into it and still never becomes 'easy' and you hardly know your working out its fun and a laugh well thats what i thought until i woke up the next day!

Have a good day

Personally speaking, yoga's alright. I guess I need to be jumping around like a fool inorder to feel like I had a really good workout, you know? haha But Zumba... OMG I'd sooooo take that class. It looks like a blast and one of my girlfriends started doing Zumba and has lost a shitload of weight. (I believe she's lost 60lbs... 250 to 190ish) She said it really makes you sweat up a storm and once you get the moves down, you can use them when you're salsa/ merengue dancing at a club. woohoo! haha

Congrats with the weight loss, girl!! I backtracked and realized you lost 3 + lbs in a week, right? WICKED!!

I took yoga at my other gym, because I slept better and felt calmer. This class does not give me that. The instructor talks to much, gives instructions for every breath, etc. And we do not do the traditional "order" that gave my other class the rythmic feel I loved.

Zumba looks like fun, I sometimes watch the zumba class that is on the basketball court while I am doing cardio. So, when this quarter ends, I might try that as my next pay class.

Good job on the pounds girl! You are working this weight loss thang!

So how did your terrace turn out with the xmas decorations? Any pix?

Due to freakin rain, I have not yet finished my outdoor decorations. Hopefully this weekend will have a nice day. Pictures will be forthcoming!

I cant wait for pics!!!
Im getting our decs out of the loft this weekend to check the lights work and we are putting them up on the 8th i am counting the days i love christmas decs

Spent the evening hanging out with a friend, so no gym. However, I arrived at her house before her, and having a key, let myself in. I proceeded to log 10 minutes on her recumbent bike, just so I would be gauranteed all the bonus points this week! (I plan on going to the gym tomorrow, but just in case.)

Also, FlatEarth wild berry crisps are quite possibly the most amazingly good things I have ever had in my mouth. 130 cals per serving, 1/2 serving of fruit. SO GOOD. I am going to pack them in my lunches...and look forward to them all day.

I am also growing very fond of back to nature cherry pecan trail mix bars. They smell divine, and taste great, too!

Well that is evidence of major motivation there! Good for you that you got some exercise bike in while waiting. You're friend must've been impressed with your zeal for working out. LMAO

Well, it wasn't for that long, not exactly a "good workout" or anything...but at least I did it.

She did say she was proud of me!

Way to sneak in those extra ten minutes, doll. That would have been funny to walk in and catch my best friend riding my recumbent bike like a speed demon. haha Then again, that would never happen, because my girlfriend hates anything that deals with exercise. hahaa

Tee hee... that's all I'm going to say. hahaaaa!! Also, with all of this healthy trail mixes and whatnot, I'm sure My Favorite Organic Food Lover aka Val Bunny, is going to comment on the following. haha Love yas, Amber!

Okay, I am trying to adjust my diet a bit. I want to switch portions to eat a dinner size lunch and a lunch size dinner. I think having my 500-600 calorie meal in the daytime will serve me better than at night, particularly since I usually eat dinner around 8:30 pm. However...it is easy to increase lunch calories, but hard ofr me to figure out good dinners that won't deprive my husband but can still be a couple hundred cals lower for me. Aiming for 350-450 at night.

Any one know of a good way to do this?

Hmmm... it really depends as to what your husband's taste in food is, you know?

How about the following:

Chicken Breast (4oz): 120 cal
1c brown rice: 220 cal or
1.5 cup steamed broccoli: 40 cal

or

garlic rosemary roasted red potates (~2 potatoes sliced): 200 cal
london broil (5oz): 170 cal
1.5c steamed green beans: 50 cal

I got a few other ideas.. Not sure...

Tonight, I kept my dinner to 330 calories (and a 100 calorie dessert later), while giving him larger amounts, to equal about 500. He did not complain, though he ate two snacks later...

Went to the gym and did 15 minutes on the true stride, on the big hill setting, and logged 1.8 miles. Lifted for 20 and did stretches, abs and core for 10, equaling 45 minutes.

Tomorrow starts the protein bonus, which I think is in the bag, all my snacks are high-pro.

Sounds like your on track!!!
Keep up the hard work!
Just gotta tell you......you look just like a good friend of mine in your new avatar. It is so funny cuz' when the page loads I keep thinking to myself "I didn't know Lisa was on the forum," and she is a teacher too!!!! LOL
Weird I know!
Have a great day!

Today I weigh 214.6. I am down nearly 2.5 from last saturday. I am thoroughly shocked. I very rarely lose that much in a week. I am very happy!

NICE JOB ON THE 2.5LBS!!!!!!! THAT IS FANTASTIC!!

c'mon--I'm sure you've had something better than those wild berry crisps in your mouth! :smilielol5:

As for swapping your lunch/dinner portion sizes, I say just eat a smaller portion of food at dinner--don't mess with the recipes. And then take some leftovers from dinner for your lunch the next day. That way hubby's food isn't changed at all, and your's is the way you want it. :) Would that work?
