Fall is my favorite season! Not too hot, not too cold and some lovely thunderstorms. I always wanted to get married in October....until I was actually engaged and then I didn't want to wait that long!

Most things are settling down with the family now. Uncle is better. Aunt is still stupid. Stepmom is recovering. Godmother is off "probation" and allowed to drive again. Grandpa is still not going to the dr. but hopefully he will soon.

As for me, I gained .6 lbs this week. I am REFUSING to change my ticker back though, because this is NOT MY FAULT. I did everything right this week, because it was measurement week. I even lost weight (2.5 lbs) until Wednesday. Then my entire face broke out and I gained 3 lbs overnight. STUPID CYCLE. I hate this. I talked my dietician into waiting a week to measure, as I am sure I am bloated and gross right now. Anyway, I know it is a normal fluctuation and it will go away, that is why my ticker is staying put.

I drank tonight...which won't help the weight go away... I only had two butterscotch schnapps and 1 pina colada. Not too awful.

Girl, after what you've been through lately, you deserve a drink or two, or five..lol I'm sure the red devil is the reason for the weight gain. Imo you are down 2.5lbs. Glad to hear things are getting better with your family--hope it continues to improve. :hug2::hug2:

Yeah, when I get home from a bar I throw my nasty smoky clothes in the laundry and jump in the shower. Otherwise my bedding reeks of smoke, too...lol. Yuck.
 
I did something new and fun today!! Me and three of my friends went and did "Social Suppers." It is a place where you assemble ready-to-cook meals while enjoying food samples, a drink and chatting with friends.

They have all the chopping and prepping done. You just read the recipe, measure the ingredients into the provided baggies or pans, and stick on a label. Voila!! Dinner on nights you don't want to think of cooking. You just dump the baggie into a pan, bake and eat. They have 13 choices, plus a dessert you can make. Some of the choices come with side dishes.

I made 6 meals and bought an Apple Strudel Pie from the already prepared freezer. The make it yourself dessert was velvety bread pudding, which is not my thing.

I made Steakhouse chicken with oven fries, grilled steaks with french onion mashed potatoes, chicken and sweet corn quesadillas with black beans and lime, chicken lasagna alfredo, panko breaded pork chops with tangy dipping sauce, and pork tenderloin with maple-cranberry glaze.

Other than the alfredo lasagna, all of my choices are relatively diet friendly. But I had to have the lasagna after I sampled it (they have dishes prepared for you to try first).

It was a good experience. If the food is good, I will definately go back next month! Plus, it evens out to under 3.00 per serving, which is really nice, too.
 
We've got a few of those places around here. I've never tried it, but I know a few people who did and they liked it. It's great for busy people who don't have a lot of time to cook--or just don't like cooking..lol.

I may not be on this weekend. I am headed out of town with 5 friends, my husband and the two cutest kids ever (my best friend's 4 and 2 year olds). We are staying at my Mom's and meeting up with my cousin and his wife to go to the kansas city renaissance festival.

I am so excited!!! And praying it doesn't rain....

I hope you all have fun at the Ren Festival. I've always wanted to check one out.. Hmmm.... maybe next spring I'll look into it. As for the weigh in/ measuring... do let us know how that goes, girl. Wishing you a great weekend.

Weigh in was no loss no gain...ah well.

Measurements were postponed again, as my dieticians office had only two staff members today instead of six, due to a lovely flu virus going around.

Well, no loss is better than no gain. Too bad you didn't get measured, b/c you probably lost inches. I get weighed and measured at my gym tomorrow, so that will be interesting to see how many inches I've lost. It's been awhile since I got measured.
 
Weigh in tomorrow...and measurements, too, I think. Argh. I did not behave this week, so I do not have high expectations.
 
Totally, completely depressing.
1 pound down, and only ONE inch, TOTAL lost in 6 weeks. I don't know if I really crapped out these past 6 weeks or if the girl measuring me sucked at it (she's new). But I am feeling upset about it.

I know how ya feel. I plateaued from mid-August until early October. And I worked my ass off the entire time. Try switching up your eating and exercise. It could be that your metabolism has gotten used to eating a lower amount of calories. In which case, you probably will have to eat at maintanance level for a week or two to rev up things. Also, try making your workouts more intense. :)
 
I know, I need to change it up a bit. Problem is not having access to weights. There is only so much you can do with cardio...but I can't afford a gym. My church has a free gym, but it is not open after 5pm, and I can rarely get there in time.

I decided to overcome my sucky feelings by issuing myself a challenge. My grandma is getting me clothes for Christmas. I intend to be down another size (to a 14 jeans, 16 shirt) by then. I figure 15 pounds ought to do it. I have changed my ticker to encourage myself. It is a bit less than 2 lbs per week (and when I was losing steadily I managed 1.6 lbs most weeks). It's doable but not so easy as to lose the challenge aspect of it.

Come hell or high water, I will weigh 205 or less on Christmas. HOLD ME TO IT.

Have you thought about Curves? I'm not sure what they charge, but I only pay $34 a month for my gym which is like a curves, only not a franchise.
 
Well, sorry to hear about the 1 pound, but hey...at least your going the right direction!!!! When i hit a plateau what i did was eat a lot one weekend....i ate a bunch of food. then the next week my weight went down like 5 pounds!!! It worked for me and i know it has worked for others.

I know your hard work will pay off...and youll be 200 by christmas. My goal is also 200 by dec. 30(my birthday).
