Always Pushing Up The Hill, Searching For The Thrill Of It

Wow!! Those sound delicious! :drool5:!! I'm soooo proud of you for sticking to 1 1/2! Some people just can eat and eat. On the other hand though, it's funny that sometimes those people really want to GAIN SOME weight and can't. What a paradox! HAHA~!

...don't know what's better?...:) And as far as staying away from the snacks today, what I have been doing lately, is when I want to snack I tell myself, fine...but drink 16oz of water FIRST, then see how you feel! Most often, I feel kinda full...and I snack less.

Make it a great day!! :) You are doing GREAT!!! I want to make a healthy lasagnea! :ddrool5:!!

Snacked last night. Weighed myself this morning - 144.6 ... ugh. Spring break is a month and a half away... I need to step it up!

Gosh what is with the scale not showing our efforts. I was up a pound from last week too and I'm hoping for a big poop or a miracle before my weigh-in. Stay strong over the weekend and another great week is sure to show us some results! Have a good one.

Hey, I'm new around here...and I've been checking out everyone's stories and experience! They're wonderful! I just wanted to drop you a note saying - congrats on the fabulous progress! You're doing great!

Also, I was feeling tired and drained yesterday, and I was looking for an excuse NOT to go to the gym. I happened to read your diary, and I wanted to tell you that reading that you go to the gym (and then looking at your progress)...well, I couldn't get to the gym quick enough! Also, looking at all the crunches you do- well, yesterday was the first day that I did crunches on my own!

I absolutely love how you map out your exercises! I might have to steal some of them and do them!!

Take care! And once again- you're doing fantastic!!

Thank you so much... I really needed this. I'm sort of hitting a wall right now even though I got back on track, the scale just seems to continue going up and I feel like I'm just going to end up right back where I started. I know I can control this, I can choose to take control, but I really feel discouraged right now :( I need to snap out of it! I'm glad you made it to the gym because of me - unfortunately I skipped it yesterday. But you are pushing me to make it there today :D Take care -- good luck on your journey! Thanks again for the kind words xx

Yesterday's eating wasn't the greatest, especially going out to dinner with the parents before going to party for my friend's 21st birthday. I still did manage to fit some exercise in (even though I REALLY didn't want to) and I went outside for a run. Only 2.8 miles but I still got a nice half hour of cardio in. By the time I hit mile 2 my right knee started hurting again... this ONLY happens when I run outside. Must be from the inclines or something! It feels better today though. I also did some arms and abs work but that was all for Saturday!

It's REALLY crunch time for spring break so I have to start working harder with my fitness. I only worked out 3 times last week because I went every other day and skipped Friday. I need to get at least 5 days a week of exercise.

Here are some pictures from the party last night... it was country western themed. We danced a lot - I didn't drink that much because I was full from dinner and very tired. My feet are KILLING me from the shoes I was wearing... my heels feel raw and hurt sooo bad! I finally got to sleep at 3AM and woke up at 11AM. All I had today was a sandwich and a banana... now I'm sipping on some water waiting for dinner. Mom is making spaghetti tonight! Yummm :) Trying to start off the week on the right foot and making up for the extra calories yesterday. ALSO going to start weighing in on Wednesday's... I want to be back down to 140 by the time spring break gets here!

Hey!

Wow, you look fabulous in those pictures! AND you look like you're having a blast!!

you're doing a great job girlie! I know sometimes it's hard...and sometimes it's unbearable! Occasionally I think of the long road I have to get to my goal weight, and how LONG it's going to take me, and how much work it's going to be...and it gets scary! But you know what, we can do it! Look at how far you've come! Holy cow! You've done great! And you can finish it up! You're taking all the steps - the exercising and the healthy eating- you'll get there!!!

You can do it!! :) :)

Aww, thanks Tik! You are an awesome cheerleader for me :D Haha! I need to come by your diary now so I can follow you on your journey! Yes it seems like a long road but if you stick with it, just know you WILL make some great accomplishments along the way and that you ARE capable of meeting your goals as long as you put in the work! I see you're doing the couch to 5K program... that is great! Stick with it, I promise you will fall in love with running when it's all over. When I finished the program, I wasn't only able to run a 5K without stopping... I could run a 10K too! You should sign yourself up for a 5K run/walk somewhere close to where you live. That is how I stayed motivated to finish the program! xx

No workout yesterday, but I am proud that I didn't spend a whole Sunday eating like I usually do!
(woke up late)
Lunch: Turkey sandwich, banana
Snack: Clementine
Dinner: Salad, spaghetti w/italian sausages, slice of bread w/butter

My mom even made a chocolate cake yesterday and after dinner I walked past her plate of cake and vanilla ice cream.. it looked yummy but I was not even tempted!

I am heading back to school this morning. My roommates are going to group strength with me today, I am excited to get another kick ass work out! We are supposed to be getting a huge snowstorm/blizzard so I expect a snow day might be in my near future ;)

Scale says 144.4 today... I joined the February challenge and I'd like to be back down to 140 at the end of this month. Here we go!

Only up .4 from Friday is great after the weekend!! You look great in the pics and I love how much fun you look like you had! That's what life is all about in the grande scheme of things!
I agree you should be up to 5 workouts per week so make that your goal this week! Why the switch to Wednesday weigh-ins? Whatever works I say go for it!! Looking forward to kicking some butt with you!! Here we go again!!

I haven't actually changed my ticker in quite a while... I was 144.6 before the weekend - so really I lost 0.2! Lol and I am switching to Wednesday weigh in's because I want to see where I'm at before the weekend hits and the crappy eating begins. Monday - Wednesday are the easiest because Thursday is when my weekend starts! (Our campus is known for "Thirsty Thursday's") Hopefully I can limit the crappy eating to only one day on the weekend because I know it's bound to happen at some point :ack2: But I will definitely make it my goal to get to the gym 5 times this week - I am assuming we will have a snow day and if that happens the gym will be shut down so it might just be 4... if so I will just make my work outs harder :smash:

You look gorgeous in those pictures :)

Aww thanks! IDK about the crazy one where I'm throwing up the peace signs! LOL but yes it was fun to dress up in flannels and dance with my friends all night :D

Good morning! :D

I am feeling quite sore from yesterday but I am in a really great mood. I joined the February month challenge and today was the first weigh in. The scale said 143.4 yippeeee! :D Tomorrow when I weigh in is when I will actually change my ticker, though since I have moved my official weigh in days to Wednesday's. TOM comes tomorrow though :(

There is a big snow storm coming in and one of my classes has already been cancelled. I am 98% sure that my night class will be cancelled as well so I should be done by 12:15 today! That gives me plenty of time for the gym :D

I just bought myself a reusable water bottle (it says Reduce, Reuse, Recycle on it) so I want to start using that because I need to drink more water! I am also now starting to incorporate vitamin B12 into my daily vitamins (fish oil, biotin, and D3).

Happy Tuesday! :waving:

Nice way to start the week!!! If the gym is cancelled you can still get a workout in at home! No excuses Sarah, lol!! Or you could shovel the snow and call that a workout!
I joined the February challenge too but I'm keeping my weigh-ins on Friday's. I really hope to be at 145 by then. The scale is not my friend though. I'll be happy being down in inches too and it would be even better if the cellulite on my thighs diminishes. That is my number one pet peeve lately.
Great work turning down the chocolate cake the other day too - I bet your mom was surprised you just walked right by! Nice willpower! Have a great Tuesday!!!

Good girl!!! :cheers2:!! NO EXCUSES!! Like Lisa says!! ;)!!!

I love when I wake up sore!! Just such a great indication of HARD WORK done!! That's great that you are committing to yourself to workout 5 days a week! It's so easy to let one day go, then blink, and 3-5 days where we haven't worked out happen! Nippin it in the butt is the way to go!!! :D!

Sarah, what are you studying to be?! :)

GOOD IDEA :D :D :D

Sarah, what are you studying to be?! :)

I am studying organizational communication with a minor in human resource management. I would probably like to go into HR or training and development within organizations. But we shall see where the road takes me :D

Okay guys... eating has been good all day! I didn't make it to the gym - campus is closed today and tomorrow due to this blizzard that is passing through. BUT I have been doing some exercises in my room! This morning after breakfast, I did:

30 side bends (each side = 60 total)
20 kettle bell swings
10 squats holding the kettle bell at my chest
20 kettle bell swings
10 squats holding the kettle bell at my chest
20 kettle bell swings

After lunch, I did some more!

20 kettle bell swings
10 squats holding the kettle bell at my chest
10 arm extensions pushing from chest to above my head holding kettle bell (each arm)
-- whole set repeated 3 times

SO in total with the squats and kettle bell swings I've done 170 squats today! I know this isn't a huge workout but it's better than nothing and got my heart rate up a little :)

And because campus is closed today and tomorrow, basically everyone I know is drinking tonight. I know I SHOULDN'T but I might end up doing it anyway because hey, how often to we get snow days?! Once a year?! :D If I drink tonight - no drinking until Sunday for the Superbowl!!!

*UPDATE* only had a few sips of a drink that i made and didn't like, so instead i had about 2/3 of a beer. that is all. no snacking after dinner (which was egg whites with cheese on an english muffin and a clementine) so looks like i ended the day just fine. didn't get the water intake that i wanted and didn't get much exercise, but i still didn't let myself get out of control - things could have been worse! i can feel my cramps starting though :( blah! good night!!!

Weigh in Wednesday = 143.6! Not bad, only 0.2 up from yesterday and TOM is here now.

Today's workouts will be at home again, I have some shoveling to do outside (but the wind is blowing around 25 mph! ahhh!) and I will do some kettle bell exercises and squats again today. Snow day, but I have to work for 2 hours. Other than that, just hangin' out!

Happy hump day :waving:

Nice work yesterday! I love the random workouts in your room!! Everything counts! I'm so jealous of your snow day! Keep it up Sarah!! Have a good one!

You're doing great!!

Glad to hear you had a snow day!! We had class canceled this afternoon, and I think campus will be closed all day tomorrow! I can barely see across the street!

You did a fierce workout yesterday! That's fantastic! It's really great that you're still motivated to get a workout done even if you can't go to the gym! (I need to take pointers :)

Yesterday was another good day. In my room I did some exercises:

20 kettle bell swings
10 kettle bell squats
10 arm extensions w/kettle bell (left + right)
(whole set x3)

After dinner I did that set x3 again. I also shoveled for a half hour yesterday and I was SWEATING MY ASS OFF!! Soo much snow. My back is killing me today :(

I did some of this yesterday :sifone: and had a few mini rice cakes and some popcorn to munch on but for dinner I made chicken and a sweet potato with a piece of toast (on 35 cal bread). No snacks after that which was around 7PM and I didn't hit the hay until 10PM. The roomie wanted to order pizza for dinner, I didn't give her much of a response so I think that changed her mind on buying it. Thankfully she didn't buy any because that might have changed up the night a little bit!

After classes today, I'm going to go to core complete and step at the gym! The weekend begins today but I am hoping that I can stay on my game with healthy eating and less snacking. I haven't been really craving any sweets I've noticed so that is helping me a bit. Sunday will be a different story because it's the Super Bowl - lots of beer and snacks!

Great workout Sarah - and the fact that you went back and did it again is pure dedication! Loving the committment lately! Nice work not indulging in the munchies too!! I wish every week was this easy for us! I haven't been having any cravings lately either.
Have fun at the gym!! Work hard!
