Alligatorob's Diary

I have never been into the outback in Australia & am more used to the rainforests of Tasmania. So, so different!

Rob well done on losing 2 lb that's amazing . You are done no super. Your walk sounds and looks amazing . I am delighted you are back to 100 per cent now . Think we all having little dips at the moment . Your photos are great . Keep up the good work.

Had a good experience this morning. First thing I stepped on the scale on my way to the shower, unclothed. I saw a 199.8!

First sighting of a weight under 200 lbs in many a year. Not yet my "official" weight, that may take a few more weeks, but it was still nice to see. My "official" weight is a 3 day rolling average first think in the morning in shoes, shorts, shirt, ect. on Wednesday morning usually. So reporting this now may be a bit of a cheat, but it sure looked nice!

Oh, this is fun! A real boost to the day - I think we're all getting a kick out of your having seen 199.8 on the scales! :) Go, Rob!

The day could have gone better, but it could have been worse. I did eat well, and I got to see the below 200 number on my scale, even if only briefly. However we have a waterline leak that sucked up most of my day, no time for walking or exercise other than working on the waterline. Our waterline runs over 400 feet from the street to the house and my office, its buried 3 to 8 feet down and its leaking somewhere, and leaking a lot. I was able to get a guy I know with a backhoe to start digging, it took a long time to just find the water line. No luck finding the leak yet, but tomorrow is another day. I fear this is going to take a lot of destructive digging to figure out. The waterline runs through the peach orchard, under the driveway twice, under rock walls, the lawn and some roofed area, I sure hope we don't have to destroy too much of it to fix things... Picture shows digging before we found the waterline.

Yes, we have no rainforest here. Tasmania must look more like our Pacific Northwest, we are considered high desert.
Rob well done on losing 2 lb that's amazing
Thank you Petal, you know my weight loss never ceases to amaze me, a year ago I would not have believed this possible. I also feel grateful to y'all for supporting me, I would not be here without that support.
Official or not, I´m sure it was a glorious sight!
199.8? That must have been very exciting! Well done, Rob!

LaMa, Cate and Amy, thank you. It really felt good to see, a significant milestone, even though I won't take it officially yet it sure felt good.

Such a bummer about the waterline! I hope you find the leak soon, and in a plan where you can fix it easily without having to destroy too much of your property.

Yes a waterline leak is something no one needs especially right now. sucks :(
hope you get it all fixed up without too much difficulty.

But, yes, wonderful seeing below the 200 mark!

Your scales has a very fancy blue light . :rotflmao:
oh you are doing so well . I feel very proud of you . Amazing work in a year . Hope the leak gets fixed

It was a good day, except for the waterline leak thing. I ate well, exercised, and saw the below 200 again.

I got in a good, but short morning walk, about 3 km, but all up then downhill, about a 100 m rise. Then this evening I tried to do a workout using my band and a couple of 10 lb weights. I did my best to duplicate some of the upper body exercises I was doing at the gym. Its a work in progress but after 30 min I felt pretty good. Our yard is now full of giant holes, but no leak found yet, we are however narrowing the search. This is no fun.

Thanks everyone, Rob, LaMa, Cate, Liza, Petal, Flyer, Amy, for the kind words. I am still chuffed about it! If I am allowed to use that word, being a non-European or Australian. I think I used it right. And Petal I feel proud to have you and the others as friends, y'all are great people!

And thanks for the encouragement on the waterline leak, I need it...

That's great you are figuring out a home work out Rob. i actually way prefer doing workouts at home rather than gyms.
It'll be interesting to see what you prefer. I know some people say they find going to the gym more motivating but i much prefer just getting up and doing a bit of a workout in my own place...feels easier to me.
Sorry to hear you still haven't found the leak. definitely not fun!
