Alligatorob's Diary

Hey Rob, You mentioned about learning the difference between hunger and cravings. Have you gotten better at it? If so, how does it work for you as best you can work out?

Just caught up with your diary, Rob. Love that you are getting compliments & are feeling your bones again, wearing your new jacket. I bet you looked & felt snappy! Choosing only good food that is worth it really is the go I think. Well done on being down into the 240s :D

It was a good day, I got up early thinking I could get a bike ride in, but it was cold, close to freezing, raining and windy, so I got lazy and didn't do it. Otherwise the day went well for a travel day, in Chicago now. Tomorrow is a long day of meetings and I fly home early Friday morning.

I did have a minor milestone today, I gave Delta their seat belt extender back. Years ago a flight attendant told me to just keep the extender so I did not have to ask for one. Its about worn out, but I don't need it any more! Felt good to return it.
It’s feels great doesn’t it . Be proud
Yes it does, and sometimes I am proud, sometimes I think about how far I have to go yet. But getting this far sure feels good.

Some, but its still a challenge, lately I have not felt hungry much, but I do still get cravings. I think they may be getting less strong and maybe less frequent, but each day is different.
Thanks for your support Cate, and yes I do feel a little bit "snappy".
Amy and LaMa, thanks for the support, getting into the 240s does feel good.

Having trouble finding much of historical interest that happened in 1030, I have been trying to avoid battles, wars, slaughters, and the like so the pickins are getting kind of slim. Guess I will resort to the Angel Numbers, always interesting nonsense there.

The feeling Olga gets from Angel Number 1030 is uncertainty, tension, and strong. The purpose of Angel Number 1030 is summarized in these words: Write, Visit, and Select.

and Joanne's sacred scribes say (long version):

Number 1030 brings together the vibrations of number 1, the influences of number 0 appearing twice, magnifying its energies, and the attributes of number 3. Number 1 relates to assertiveness, striving forward and new beginnings, inspiration, motivation, independence and uniqueness, action, positivity and achieving success. Number 1 tells us that we create our own reality and experiences with our thoughts and beliefs, and encourages us to step out of our comfort zone and step towards new directions and opportunities. Number 3 is the number of affability, enthusiasm, assistance and encouragement, communication and self-expression, growth, expansion and the principles of increase, manifesting, broad-minded thinking, talents and skills, and the energies of the Ascended Masters. Number 0 represents the Universal Energies, the beginning of a spiritual journey and stands for potential and/or choice, developing spiritual aspects, eternity and infinity, oneness and wholeness, continuing cycles and flow, and the beginning point. Number 0 powerfully amplifies the energies of the numbers it appears with.

Angel Number 1030 brings a message that some upheavals may take place and/or obstacles may appear in your life and this is taking place for karmic reasons that will become obvious to you in short time. It will break ground for you and will bring about new opportunities for you to grow and expand your personal spiritually. Your angels ask that you adapt to changes gracefully and trust that all will work out for your highest good.

Angel Number 1030 suggests that the angels and Ascended Masters are working with you on your thought processes to enable you to make the highest and wisest choices and are sending you positive energy to keep you from feeling discouraged. Stay focused on the true goals of your soul so that you are able to succeed with your soul purpose and general life.

Angel Number 1030 brings a reminder you that ‘everything happens for a reason’. Listen to the messages of your inner-guidance and intuition, and be aware of signs and/or directions from your angels, spirit guides and Masters. The promptings of your angels and your inner-wisdom will ensure that you take the most appropriate and right action.

With hindsight, the Angel Number 1030 can often be seen a ‘blessing in disguise.

Not sure what to do with all that.

Nothing minor about that, congratulations! How thoughtful of that flight attendant, by the way.

That was kind of the flight attendant to give you a belt extender - but how great to be able to hand it back, because it simply does not apply any more! Past and gone!

(ha ha! LaMa - snap!)

Well done Rob on handing back the belt . You keep getting these non scale victories recently ( like people noticing your weight loss , new sports jacket and room in your flight seat to put down the tray etc ) . These are just as important and so rewarding as well as a scales drop .

Yesterday was a really long day, up at about 3am and meeting all day in Chicago. We got done a little earlier than expected so I was able to rush to the airport and get a late flight home, got back about midnight and was too tired to post. I think I was able to eat fine, not many choices but what I did eat seemed healthy and my WAGs suggest low calorie. Probably some error in the WAGs, but the total can't be too far off.

Checkers, a favorite game of my youth, was invented in 1100, or there abouts. That's what Wikipedia says, in one place anyway. Elsewhere it says similar games were played in Mesopotamia as early as 3000 BC. An Arabic game called Alquerque played on a 5 x 5 board was adopted to the chess board in about 1100 creating our modern Checkers.

Just did my 40 laps with 1 lagniappe it felt good.

I sure did not want to do it, it's cold and raining off and on but I found a window in the rain and got it done. In Chicago I saw a lot of people riding bikes to work in pretty cold weather, so I asked my Uber driver and he said lots of folks there commute by bike all winter. If they can do it in Chicago winters I can do it here.

Thanks LaMa and Rob, but I am feeling fine, no weakness or feeling light headed or tired without good reason. In fact Rob, I feel better and healthier than I have in years. I know I am in a calorie deficit, but I am trying to eat a nutritional diet and have been on multivitamins from early on. The way I see it I am not really in a calorie deficit, I just using all those fat calories I've been saving for years. I do plan to try and get a doctor's appointment, will call this afternoon, to see what he has to say.

I'm guessing he'll be thrilled about your weightloss! But I hope he'll also do some blood tests to see how your body is coping with everything.

It was a good day, ate well and got my bike ride in.

In 1188 Menestheus, King of Athens, dies during the Trojan War or so the myth goes. Menestheus was an interesting guy, he was one of the people in the Trojan horse, and a suitor of Helen of Troy. He makes an appearance in the Illiad.

A suitor of Helen? The woman was married with children. Twice. People could really have left her alone at some point...

I enjoy the Trojan horse story.
Rob I think your body would be telling you when it needs more food. I know somedays I get hungry days and need to eat more. It sounds like you are listening to your body. I got my bloods done yesterday so looking forward to hearing how things are from last time.

It was a good day, ate well and I feel good, no bike ride today, too busy. I think Saturdays are just going to be bike down days.

It was a big get things ready for winter day. The forecast is for snow next week. I was able to get the kid who has worked for me before to help today so was pretty efficient. We trimmed trees, cut the wood up for firewood, raked leaves, moved a bunch of rocks and I pulled the chain harrow to dress up the driveway gravel, and did a bunch of clean up. A good day.

LaMa, I don't think Helen's suitors cared much about kids or her marital status, it was probably all about power and money. But I didn't know the lady.

Petal, I know what you are saying, but I don't really trust what my body tells me about food. It has lied way too many times.

Thanks Jack, and yeah giving the seat belt extender back did feel good.

Watched the LSU football game as I posted tonight. They beat Arkansas, but it has not been a good year for Arkansas so its not a big deal. LSU is still undefeated with only 1 regular season game to go. Also ranked #1, sure hope they can take it all the way!

Zhu Yu published a book that is the first to report the use of a magnetic compass for navigation, although there were earlier reports. The first actual compass probably dates to 20 to 40 BC, also in China. Didn't make it to Europe for over 1,000 years.

If anything like it really happened it was all about status. Women there and then had neither power nor money. And virginity was a huge hangup. So the only way that story makes sense for me in the setting is as a pissing contest between the guys to see who gets the prize defined as the highest by the gods.
