I guess today is just as good as any day, to start trying to get my health back on track. I have always went off the path of it before, but today I feel a little different. =) Just taking little steps, my first goal today is to walk my block a few times.. I haven't really did that in awhile, and I its a nice day outside.


After I decided I was going to go walking today, I started wondering why I haven't done it everyday, why do I always put these things off. I always said it was because I didn't want to do it alone, but I do most of everything in my life now alone- so that is such a lame excuse. I finally come to the conclusion that I'm embarrassed about my weight, I'm sure most people feel that way. Every time I get ready to go out, I will not even look in the mirror. I feel so horrible about myself I just want to cry. I just have to push myself, and know that in the end it will not be like that.

I have always been bad with diaries, although I love to write. I will come back later this afternoon and post more about my day, and what all I have eaten. Seeing what I can change.

Sorry you are so down about your appearance. When you wrote about not wanting to look in the mirror before going out, I wanted to come and give you a giant hug!!!!

Things will work out. Get control of your mind and the body will follow. It sounds like you are heading in the right direction.

Tell us a bit about yourself. How much weight do you have to lose? What is your plan for starters?

Hi, Steve. Well a little about me can be found in my newcomers post^.^ =) I plan to get down to atleast 135-140(right now im 228). I'm taking everything step by step. Infact after my post I walked around the triangle around my house, before I logged back on. Get this I didn't only walk it once, I walked it ... Three times =)

I am setting a goal for myself, to walk that triangle at least 3 times a day. Which is alot for me, since I'm a big computer nerd, and mostly my day consists of computers and more computers. I'm going to set a calorie limit for myself, but im not sure how much I should start with! If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please feel free to tell me.


Here are some recent pictures, they are mostly only of my face, and of course being over weight I have taught myself the right angles to take pictures in order to slim my face. =)

I can name one thing I love about my appearance, its my eyes. As you will see in my pictures!

I just want to be able to take a picture from any angle, and feel good and confident about it. I think I can do it this time though, I really do.
 
damn girl, you are beautiful... you shuld want to look in the m irror - you've got killer eyes - great hair and skin - your face is lovely...

Calories, hmmm..... 2300 - 2500 or so might be a good starting point, depending on how many you've been eating in the past.

HI! I think your pics are lovely. Congratulations on starting your diary and your new plan. That is terrific news about your walk today.

I looked for your diary after reading your introduction, it saddened me. I have 3 daughters close to your age and can't imagine them going through any of that, much less the steps afterward. You are brave and I look forward to reading your progress.

First off I have a question for anyone reading, how often should I do weigh ins .. every month or every few weeks?

Ok well yesterday I did a great job, and today im starting off well =). I'm not good with what is healthy or anything, so I may need some help on what to change and what not. Here is what I ate and about the calories that come from those things. ^.^

4/25/07

Breakfast-
Pizza Bites (which i ate before logging on here and didn't get a chance to check anything, and someone ate the rest of the bag!) I only ate about 6 though.

Lunch-
I had a McDonald's chicken salad , which from there site is *290*Calories.

I only drank water all day, with the exception of a little sweet tea and lunch.
I walked around my loop 3 times yesterday morning, and 2 times around 4 in the afternoon. I ended up falling asleep early from all the walking I think, and didn't get a chance to eat supper.


4/26/07


So far today...

Breakfast-
2 pieces of white toasted bread *120 cal*
1 tablespoon spoon of jelly *70 cal*
1 pack of instant cheese grits *100 cal*
1 bottle of a instant koolaid type stuff *5 cal*

Snack-
1 pizza pocket *280 cal*
1 minute made fruit falls packet *5cals*

Lunch-
1 Chicken salad *330 ca;*
1 pack of ranch *170 cal*
1 Min made fruit falls water *5 cal*

I edited this post, and added everything I had eaten that day, I went to sleep early also this day.=(

There are two different schools of thought -- one says you should weigh daily, at the same time, wearing the same thing or nothing :D, fully understanding that your weight will fluctuate from day to day, and don't use your weight as a barometer for how the day willl be (OH no the scale said i was up 2 lbs this day is gonna suck)
The other school says weigh weekly, on the same day, it gives you a good judge of how you're doing. or even monthly.

My personal opinion is do what's comfortable for you. You will knw how you're doing by how your clothes are fitting and what you are seeingin the mirror.

I do suggest taking measurements - and checking those monthly - even if the scale doesn't budge, the measurements generally do.
 
well I want to wish you good luck, Im probebly not the best person to give advice but you probebly need to add abit of protein or you are going to find your self realy hungry.

Hehe, I don't see myself weighing in everyday.. prob every few weeks would work best for me. :) Ill take measurements today.. I actually was going to yesterday but completely forget with everything else going on!
 
Yay! I'm so proud of myself today, I went for my morning walk as I have for the past few days , and increased my lap x1 :) I'm so happy. It seems like I'm actually making progress now =D

Ill be back later to post what I have eaten today ^.^!

N thanks for stopping by my journal too, i never managed the willpower for healthy snacks today, messed up bigtime, been a toughie, but hopefully im back on track again!!

Yesterday was a hectic day, not just for my diet but for people coming and leaving my house, its really hard to get anything done when its so busy^.^but anyways, I always write down what I eat on my notepad so I'll put here what all I had yesterday.. I had a few more snacks than usually but I'm sure I stayed in my Calorie limit. ><

Breakfast-
2pc of jelly toast *260 cal*
3pc of bacon *135cal*

Snack-
1fruit roll up *50 cal*


Lunch-
A few pieces of a turhey breast, which I'm really not sure how much this is?<==


Snack-
2 granola bars *100cal each=200cal*


Dinner-
6in' turkey sub LIGHT mayo and mustard *535*


and yes I should have but I had a snack yesterday since I ate dinner kind- of early.

Snack-
100cal snack Ritz pack *100cal*


TOTAL=1280

I didn't know how much the turkey breast was for lunch so I really do not know how much to add in, and also I had a few 5 cal fruit drinks. I'm pretty sure I stayed within a good limit though!:)

I actually didn't fall asleep to early yesterday also, which is good since all the other days since I have started I have fallen asleep, from being so tired :D I guess I'm finally getting use to things!
