Alee's new way of life!

Well, I went to the doctor/ dietitian yesterday. My blood work came back as expected .. high levels on everything. So she put me on a medication that I take once a day this whole week than I move up to 2 tablets a day. Also they made out a meal plan for me, which I wasn't far off from.. so it shouldn't be to hard :] -The medication I am taking now is ..


Anyways, I had gained two pounds this week.. I weight 214 yesterday morning.. and this morning I weigh 212.. So maybe it was fluids or something!

My internet was out for 2-3 days.. So I didn't have a chance to log on and read much, so I am going to catch up! :]
 
Well, I woke up this morning.. and I weighed .. it said 209.7.. well I couldn't believe it so I jumped back on and it said 210.8 :] so I am sticking with that.. I am excited.. I am going to be out of the 200's in a month or less. It feels great!

I will be going on vacation at the end of the day and won't be back till the 25th-26ish.. so I will talk to everyone then!
 
Vacation was a blast.. I didn't loose any weight that week :[ Yes I did slip up, but I did alot of activity's! So thats always good.

I have officially lost 20 pounds, well 21 according to my scale this morning.. <3 I am so happy! Everyone is starting to notice the difference, I am so close to being under 200 - and its a great feeling.

saw your post on the August Challenge, then found your journal. Congrats with losing 20+ lbs! I'm sure you'll get to onederland by the end of this month. Just keep up the good work!

.. Ok, last week was really boring. I know this may sounds stupid, but I am glad tis Monday. I woke up just a few mins ago, and my eye hurts like crazy. ughh. Also, for the past few days I have been really tired. To the point where its hard to get out of bed, around the time all that started happening- the weirdest thing happened with it. I had this sudden dislike for meat, I haven't really ate any in a few days- I know thats bad, but it just makes me sick. I thought all this could be a side effect of my medicine since they up'd my dosage, but the sudden dislike of meat is weird :confused: ..

.. I will try and get in a little more exercise then I did for the past few days, my weight has been at a stand still since I haven't had the energy to get out og bed hardly.. maybe I can push myself a little more today. :sleeping:

 
you might want to drop a call to your doctor's office - the not liking meat isn't overly concerning, but since it's a change in your normal behavior, it's worth mentioning - and absolutely mention the tiredness -

yup, Mal's right, you should definitely bring that up with your physician. My father was on Metformin also and he started experiencing all types of side effects: tiredness, drowsiness, having a difficult time thinking clearly... etc Hope you start feeling better soon, doll.:hug2:

I have decided to go back recording my food intake, and daily activities. I need a little advice on all of that. :) So at the end of the day I will post that- maybe you guys can keep me in line.
 
I was wondering since I started this thing where, meat really doesn't interest me, what can I replace it with in my meals? I have already noticed my calorie intake is going to be lower than it should be. I just want to find some things I can replace the meat with until I feel I can eat it again. Any ideas?

Also.. I talked to my doctor, and she says to go back to my original dosage for two weeks, then back to two and alternate for about a week between one and two. =] Maybe I can feel better.

Well... legumes are always great for protein and fiber. However, they don't have much fat so you may want to find something that you can fill in that void. Also, nuts (almonds, walnuts, peanutes, etc) are a good source of protein and they have healthy fats. Ummmm are you into seafood? Shrimp, salmon, tuna, etc? Ummm.. tofu and eggs have protein also. Jeez... there's lots of stuff, Alee...

Yes, I love seafood :D.. Yea I just have never really not eaten meat so I really had not clue about any substitutes. :O.. Thanks for the help! <3
 
I am a little disappointed this week, I haven't lost anything. I have no clue why, I actually have been doing more than usual. I have been seeing, 206, 207, and 208-209 on the scale, although I know scale isn't everything. It's how I feel/ look. Since I have been tired - I have felt and looked pretty crappy. I thought maybe at least the scale could agree with me! haha. Oh well, It will get better I hope! =]

ugh. I am still tired throughout the day but hopefully since they switched me back to my original dosage of medicine I will get a boost of energy soon. =] I also have another stye .. this is my third or fourth in 2 months. Maybe I should go get antibiotic's for the infection, or at least get it checked. I shouldn't have them recurring so often.

I woke up late today, and I still have this big red thing on my eye! lol=[. I am having a good day though because.. the scale finally went down this morning. 205!=].. After last week and it going up and down, and up and down- but never below 206 I was discouraged! I am happy it finally dropped!

I am glad, now I have faith in reaching onederland by Sept 1=]

I was just reading your post at your before and betw/ pix... by the way, thank you. I know I'm crazy. HA! And I realized on your ticker you had lost a pound, so I ran to the diaries to say something! WOOHOO! I beat everyone else... take that, you fackin' biznatches! 5 more pounds, girly! WOOOT!!!!!! :hug2:
