Addie's New Beginning

I'm not crazy about my current pics either, but that's why we're here..to do something about it. :) It's just another bit of motivation.
That's good you're not stressing over every calorie. Eventually, maybe you'll be able to relax your approach to weigh-ins too. Keep up the good habits!

Keep up the awesome work Addie. Just think of nice these pictures will be 2 months from now when youre another 20 down! You can do it!

I can totally notice a difference every where!! Keep it up! Consistency will win the race every time! You are tightening everything up and that must feel great! Good work so far - it has only been two months and you have come so far!

bellyoff, Andy & chubbygirl: Thanks for the encouragement. The more I look at the pictures the more proud I become of what I've accomplished so far. I know there is still a long way to go, but it really (still) doesn't feel like I've been trying TOO too hard to do this, and I've lost almost 20lbs. in under 2 months. All I have to do is just keep on pushing and staying focused and committed as much as possible and I'll get all the weight off that I want to eventually.

Sadly, I haven't been to the gym in like 4 days. I'm pretty bummed about it, but I'm hoping to get down there tonight for a nice long session. I'm hoping it's not crowded, ... I love it when I can work out alone.

Its so hard to remember that dieting is not a sprint, but a marathon instead. As I read over your journal, its obvious that you are doing this the right way, so thats wonderful :coolgleamA:

And I can totally relate with the gym absence. The last time I took a few days off to recover, it ended up being a 2 week guilt-filled gym vacation. I finally told myself to get up and GO, and the rest is details. I stand by the cliche that the hardest part about the gym is walking through the front doors.

It's so true!! The hardest part is getting my butt to my car (most importantly cleaning the snow off of my car) and driving to the gym. Once I'm there it's easy ... but tonight was kinda difficult after taking so many days off. I've had a stressful week -- first my furnace crapped out Monday night and then we converted my daughter's crib into a toddler bed, so that's been a bit of a challenge. In addition, I am SWAMPED with work at my job and it will only continue to be that way (or get worse) through the end of next week. I can't wait until the end of the 15th :)

Wow, I just realized that I still have tons of time (in the weight loss world) to get to my mini-goal of under 300 by Valentine's Day ... I may even be a few pounds under :)

I'm psyched!

Think of it this way...at the rate you are going, this time next year, you will only have 20 lbs to go to your finish line. Damn, won't that feel good?

Keep up the good work!

Even though you're stressed, buried in snow, and short on time...the one thing that doesn't take any extra time is to continue eating well and drinking all that cleansing water. So, give yourself some credit for those good habits.

Taking good care of yourself makes you feel so much better once you make it back to the gym.

Congrats to your baby girl on getting a "big girl bed"!

Wow ... I guess I hadn't thought about it like that before! I do from time to time realize that I can achieve my goals relatively quickly if I work at it, but sometimes it just hits you more when someone else says it :) Thanks!

Thanks, you're right! I should give myself credit for eating properly and getting my water. It has done me well this week even without as much exercise as usual. I did make it to the gym last night ... 2.5 miles on the elliptical for about 35 minutes ... burned 400 calories. Then after that I did my strength workout and I increased my weights on most of the machines I was using. I'm getting stronger, yay! :hurray:

EDIT: Oh yes, and today officially marks over 20lbs. lost :D

Haha, thanks. I'm actually not as sore as I thought that I would be. I worked really hard, and did 5 minutes of that elliptical run pedaling backwards ... holy hammies! I'm feeling pretty good though.

Hoping to get another 2 or 2.5 miles again tonight :D

:hurray:

Congrats on reaching over 20 lbs lost! You're going strong and the results are following. Good for you for posting the pics. I take pics often, and while I don't always seem to see a difference myself from 1 pic to the next set, it is amazing as you get further into this to see how far you will have come! The pics and numbers do not lie! I hope you continue to celebrate milestones and progress. I'll be here to welcome you to the 200's very soon. Keep up the great work! :)

Thanks ange ... can't wait to join your club!! Woo!

Man I killed it at the gym today. By killed it I think I mean "tried to kill myself". But when you get to the end of your workout and "Better, Faster, Stronger" by Daft Punk comes on your mp3 player, HOW CAN YOU STOP? Seriously.

I thought to myself when I got to the gym, "maybe I'll just do 1.5 or 2 miles today since I did 2.5 yesterday". So I got to 1.5 and I was like, "if I just do 1.5 it's like I wasted my time coming here, might as well make it worth it."

So then I decided just to go until 30 minutes. I was at about 2 miles when I hit 30 minutes. And then I said to myself, "Well, I did 2.5 yesterday, I should be able to do it today". And then once I got to 2.5 Daft Punk came on and I was like, "Well now I can't stop".

3 miles
45 minutes (omg three 15 minute miles? Did I really just do that?!)
600 calories burned

WOO! LOOK OUT ANDY!! ;)

:hurray: That's awesome! Way to go!!!!!!! I love it when a good song comes on and you just can't quit....for me its Christina Aguilera's "Fighter." Love it!

So true. Its like the body giving you free adrenelin for the next min haha:smilielol5:

Dang! Great workout! I suddenly feel like I should be running instead of posting haha. Seriously, awesome progress!

Took the day off from the gym today. I am a little sore from the last couple of workouts, but surprisingly less than I anticipated. Looks like my body is getting better at handling it, which is great :)

I took my measurements again today, and I'm a little irritated, lol. The losses are decent, 1.25" off my waist, 1" off my thigh, .5" off my hips ... but what sucks is that I've lost 2.5" off my chest. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's coming off, but couldn't it come off my belly FIRST? lol ... So I'm thinking that is why I've lost another 3lbs this week but it looks like my belly is growing ... it's actually because my boobs are shrinking. Awesome. I had to adjust my bras today which I haven't had to do in several years, and there is still a gap. I may have to drop a cup size soon, which I wasn't anticipating happening for about 40 more pounds or so. But I suppose I don't recall how much I weighed when I had to go to the size I'm wearing now, so maybe it's not a big deal. I just want my boobs to be bigger than my stomach, and what's happening now is counter-productive to that! LOL ... hopefully it'll catch up soon. I have a feeling that my belly will be stubborn for about another 30lbs or so, though, based on what I looked like around 280lbs. the last time I was there.

Oh well, I'm sure with time it will all even out and be okay. I'm starting to see some areas which seem looser and much less filled out, which is great.

Ah well, I'd better get to bed ... my daughter is likely to wake me up in 4 hours and I'll need to go to the gym sometime tomorrow morning anyway.

Oh right, and my "official" Friday weigh-in today was 313.4lbs, down from 316.2lbs last Friday.

Nice work Addie :hurray:

Youre right on track for your mini goal :D :D

Unlike you, I cannot wait to lose some of the weight in my chest. Damn these things got big as I got bigger! All those drawers full of Victoria's Secret lingerie going to waste 'cause my chest decided to burst. Don't get me wrong, I understand wanting to lose it elsewhere but I'd be happy to see past the girls for a change.
